  1. I added my rating in green. ================= Sure.... I'd love to see that one... Honestly that's a weird feeling! When I joined you were the one approving my first character. I'm so glad to have you back, but then I was lucky enough to rp with in you in Augury for months now. Sill, awesome that you'll participate for a while!
  2. The city was alive. The thought crossed her mind while she walked through the streets, all around her laughing, celebrating people. The streets seemed to glow in the light of the lampions hanging everywhere, their shapes and sizes varying with the people that had hung them up. She knew there would be fires in the larger and smaller places, carefully watched by a few who had offered to keep an eye on the flames. A tiny smile touched her lips as she allowed herself to be swept along by the crowd moving towards one of the larger places nearby. They all had spent the day inside, had considered the last year, had pondered over mistakes had decided on things they wanted to do in the future. But now, now the time for silence, for quiet thoughtfullness was over. Now it was time to celebrate, to forget about the past for a moment, about the wars and the destruction that had happened so regularly for the past years. She could feel it, could see it in the faces, in the eyes of those around her. Tonight was dedicated tp the present. Tonight they were alive. She stopped in front of a stall and bought herself a drink that smelled like a mixture of lemon and kiwi and then continued, walked along the street, her face carefully hidden behind a green mask depicting a spren. Nearly everybody wore them, some faces easy to recognize despite their unusual adornment, others completely anonymus behind larger, more complicated ones. She saw the old figures of myth, the old gods of this world, new heros of the movies, creatures from all the worlds that came together in this place, some so weird she had no idea what or who they were supposed to represent. Despite the pleasant, festivious mood she kept her eyes open, couldn't quite suppress her instinct to look for a threat, to make sure nobody was trying to use the situation for their benefit. She couldn't see anybody, saw no sign of anything that tipped her off, but she allowed herself her awareness, didn't try to stop her eyes from covertly roaming over the crowd now and then. It had saved her live more often than not and she saw no reason to stop. When she stepped onto the place, she could see the fire burning in the middle, hear the music of some that had brought their instruments and played a quick dance. The city was alive, she was alive. And tonight, tonight she would celebrate, she would maybe meet new people, tonight her white hair would be part of a costume and not mark her as a freak. For once her red eyes, changed to crystals by years spend soulcasting, could be mistaken for a special set of contact lenses. Althea took a sip of her drink and looked around, the tiny smile still touching her lips. Tonight was a good night. One she had looked forward to for months.
  3. Hello! I am glad to be able to announce the start of ERA 5! As of now, Era 4 is officially finished. That means: All location threads move to E5. Please feel free to continue to use them, but should you be the first one to post there, add a quote stating that this thread moved to E5 at the beginning of your post. If you haven't done so, please finish all E4 plots as soon as possible. We try to avoid having two eras going at the same time. Please use only characters that were approved for E5! You can always submit more sheets, if you want to move other characters over to this era (up to our official limit of 5 characters per person active at the same time). Please keep the changes to our canon in mind! I copied them into a spoiler tag below for quick and easy reference. And most importantly: Have fun in the new Era! Sorana
  4. I went with physics, chemistry, english and geography (because we had to take subjects of different kinds), so I mostly had these four (and some others like maths, german, religion, sports, I had to take as well) during my last two years (12&13). My grades were okay, but I overlooked a third of the chemistry final, so that one was pretty bad. Although honestly, nobody cares for that anymore, most companies don't even want to see these grades, not after studying and working for some years. And I learned the lesson to switch every single sheet of a test over thrice to make sure I don't miss a page again
  5. I never learned Spanish. I could have, but I got rid of all languages the moment I could (apart from english) and focused on maths, physics, chemistry and geography. And english, we had to take finals in one language and as I disliked german poetry interpretation, I went with english literature instead.
  6. worth a try to win for some hours...
  7. that makes sense. Given the fact you're here I suspect french isn't the most interesting (but honestly that language was my own personal nemesis, I was so incredibly bad at french, always mixed it up with italian)
  8. that looks just like my timetable did... our lessons were a tad longer, but otherwise that one could have been mine in 7th grade.
  9. Sagitta stood frozen when Intensity smiled at her, with this awful smile of his, when he commanded her to kneel, when she looked back at Tion, to find him smiling stupidly, his weapon dropped to the ground. His words, ignore him, we need to go, ignore him, we need to go, echoed in her head, but still when she looked back to Intensity again she found herself on her way to the ground, about to kneel. He was a god. Her body stilled when he bit into the finger, when he bit it off in a shower off blood. Blood ran down the man's hand but his eyes didn't show any pain and she knew, instinctively knew what Intensity was doing. She had done it herself, had softened the pain to keep fighting, and reduced the blood flowing from a wound. She had rarely done it on purpose, doubted that she would be able to do it like this, so casually, but she had done it. Intensity. Her eyes darted over to the man's face, the sound of breaking bones echoing in her head, she knew that sound, knew the smell of blood that filled the cabin. Thunder rumbled overhead, but she only vaguel registered that there was a third party, that someoneelse wanted to keep them here, didn't grasp that Tion himself had been adressed a mortal as well. Instead she took in the faces of the zombie-like humans, slowly, slowly understood the truth about this place. Last had asked about strange things going on, about the powers of the gods changing - Intensity was either cruel or insane. She closed her eyes, touched one hand to the ground from her half kneeling position and took a breath, remembered what Price had taught her, remembered what was her goal, why she was fighting in the first place. Then she moved. Pushing herself up from the ground she used her instinct to propell her body back to it's feet, her free hand reaching out for the saddlebag, throwing it over her shoulder. It took her two long steps to cross the hut and reach Tion. Bend down, pick up his weapon, reach out for his arm and look into his eyes. "Move." she commanded him, her voice strong, layered with the urge to move to do something. Whatever Intensity had done - if he could take away the man's pain - then she could multiply Tion's fear and urgency. "Flee." She added, wondered if it would work. Then she started to run, attempted to pull Tion with her, in case he didn't snap out of his stupor.
  10. Honestly, I like the idea. It goes in the direction of the government we established in E2, and our idea back then was exactly that: to give PCs and guilds a chance to influence them. Additionally our government back then consisted of NPCs or PCs but they were controlled by players in the rp. In the end though, it led to some rp, but the government itself was never really accepted. (although I loved the idea to pay 3% taxes on your income). It's a little hard to describe, but while some had fun to write pages and pages of discussion, in the end the acceptance to have a real organ that is able to put your character into jail and establish laws was very, very low. Especially since it were other players who had an impact on your character and there basically wasn't anything you could do. It resulted in godmodding, fights that weren't written well and people fearing for their characters. There were also players trying to form a police force and therefore set their characters "by law" above others. And it simply didn't work. The concept alone always grated others. I personally, would prefer that, if we have a government, then it exists solely in the background (just like we have schools or supermarkets). If someone needs a police force of some kind, then they can write them themselves, but I would strong advise, that we don't go the road again where we give a part of our writers characters that are able to officially judge other characters.
  11. I agree. An actual government, might be beneficial, given the changed power structure, and yes, if we agree on that, and them having military ressources of some kind, then it definitely should be out of every players hands. It really didn't work last time and I also would prefer to avoid giving some characters more ic "power" than others solely because of their profession. I fear that it would lead more to conflicts, than to actual interesting rp. What does everybody else thinks?
  12. So regarding the "what changed in our history" question. I noticed, that we have several different head canons around regarding that topic, leading to an unruly canon and probably many discussions in E5. Voidus and me thought it best to decide that on mod level, as the era will start in two days and we don't have the time to make a poll regarding the larger events that happened every era and allow enough time for everybody to weigh in. Here is what we felt like should work with the E5 changes, without eliminating too much, so that rped character development of older characters can be (mostly) kept. If you are unsure about a specific situation that is important for your character, please don't hesitate to ask! E1: Guild War did happen, massive destruction of the city (also because of the demons of the Chaos Space Marines), Alleycity wasn't nuked E2: happened as it did, minus the Phoenix attack on Oasis City E3: happened as it did, minus the Phoenix attack on Alleycity; the combined forces of the guilds were able to defeat Plasma Core E4: the exploration happened as it did, the atium was distributed evenly between the participating guilds ============ As the guilds will be less powerful, several smaller groups exist to fill the vacuum left behind. They don't need to be named, but in general more guilds exist, and the ones with PCs are simply a part of them all. ============ The slum is located in the north of Alleycity, a part that was heavily destroyed during E1 and E3. People there don't have a 24/7 access to electricity and running water, and they live in the ruins of the houses that used to be there. (So far it used to be in the krater left by the nuking of Alleycity in E1)
  13. Sure! It's great to see a second Dustbringer! Although I'm not really sure what Temeria will do next Era Edit: added Fiona to the character list, and your other characters as well
  14. Sorana waved at Tion and grinned, glad that his author got the reference. Sagitta didn't disturb him when he started to rip the wood apart. Instead she stood close to him, her bag and the second saddlebag at her feet, sword fastened to her back and turned around to face the door, instinctively shifted her feet into a fighting stance. They were running from a god. And she didn't even know why. Torn between the urge to walk over to the door and talk to Intensity and follow Tion's lead she hesitated, unsure which god to follow, which one to obey. In the end the decision was taken from her when Tion fled the hut and left her alone with an angry god. Her feet itched to turn around and run away, the way Intensity stood there made her wish to do nothing but crawl on the floor and beg for his forgiveness, and she lowered her glance, looked away from him. He was a god and he had expressed the wish to talk to her, so that was what she would do. Disobeying a god was no option. "Hello." she greeted him with a polite bow, completely ignoring the damage Tion had wrecked in the hut. "How may I be of assistance?"
  15. "Yes." Shana repeated her gesture towards the door. "Like I said earlier - we only fight when we need to defend ourself. Killing a helpless prisoner isn't part of that." She watched him silently, considered to add something else and then didn't. It felt too much like a speech, too much like the huge moment of some character in a book. But she wasn't some hero, she was only herself. "That doesn't mean, that I won't fight you, should you proove a danger to my family again, but for now, for now you can go." even if it meant that everybody he killed after he left was on her hands. Every drop of blood as if she had spilled it. But she would pay the price, because it was the right thing. They were trying to find arguments to reason that what they did was good, was fair, but in the end, there was nothing, nothing the could make murder fair or just. Maybe in a movie, maybe in a story, but not here. Rob's words echoed in her head again. Kill them now to prevent them from killing others. It sounded so easy. Far too easy if she was honest with herself. ========== @Wyndlerunner @AonEne
  16. Character approved! ================== of course! The start of an Era is a very good way to start! Feedback and rating see below in green.
  17. Actually I'd like to broaden that question to all Era's. As far as I know all larger events have happened, but the DA's role in them was changed. Is that correct? @Fatebreaker
  18. They are both approved. I'll add them to the character list tomorrow when I'm not on mobile.
  19. Poor Homework. I sure they would have liked a glimpse at the night sky.
  20. I would be dead with your sleeping rhythm... Or asleep at work, maybe.
  21. *sighs* that game... Good morning!
  22. Regarding the topic: I'm planning to post it on my morning of the 15th, which is around midnight for America and afternoon for Australia. Does that work for everybody?
  23. *is responsible for that index update together with Mac* Just wait till you see the version I'm working on right now
