Lena choked on her pancake, when she saw the shadow-like figure. "Idos Domi." She whispered and hastily got to her feet. A ghost, an angry ghost. And Alask had claimed it was safe here. "Don't be angry, old one." She adressed the ghost, tried to remember what her grandma had told her. Offerings, stay polite, they need to be invited. Calm them, try to find out why they are still around. "Take this offering and return to your grave." She held out a pancake. @xinoehp512

The woman grabbed her again, her hands surprisingly strong. "Be quiet. He'll kill you if you aren't." Her hands clenched down so hard on Amara's arm, that her drew blood. Amara protested, moved around, but she had no idea what to do, how to free herself.

@xinoehp512 Shana dreamed. Laughing she changed her grip on her weapon and then charged her opponent again. Rob evaded, his face impassive as always. He rushed towards her, his fists met her shoulder, her chest. Grinning she danced away and slashed at his feet and her weapon left a bloody streak on his shin. Rob tackled her to the ground, and she was falling, a blade through her shoulder she lay beneath him, his body heavy as stone. "I give up." She clapped at his leg twice, the sign for surrender. "I don't care, little Dustbringer." He drawled, his face twisting into the grimace of a voidbringer, its eyes glowing red. Its hands clamped around her throat, choking her. Shana tried to breathe, to draw some air into her lungs, but she couldn't. She clawed at his hands, but he was like iron unmoveable. Panicking Shana clamped her hand over his, ripped his skin apart in a vain attempt to get out, to get away. The stench of burning flesh made her gag, but she could breathe again. Her enemy screamed in pain and it was Ben's voice, his beautiful face drawn in pain, his skin she'd burned from his bones. Shana screamed, tried to get close to him, to help him, but she couldn't move, couldn't walk, could do nothing but watch him burn. Shana's hand closed tightly on a piece of Ben's shirt, her eyes moving fast behind her lids. @Lunamor

"Sure." The woman nodded, so it was a woman. She hid a smile, thanked the youth for the clue. "I also would be alright with her choosing the place, if that makes her more comfortable."

Amara bite into the hand of the woman and when she fliched back, she screamed for help.

"A net. There was a scary eye watching us. I want to capture it." She nodded to the side. "You can use the rags for bandages. And Renata has some notes of the professor. You should take a look at them. Maybe you can make sense of it."

"Yes." She whispered, relieved that he was talking again, that he was here. "It's a weapon. You can use it to save, or to destroy. Just like a blade, or a surge." Gently she tightened her arms around him. "It's alright Max. You know how to wield a weapon responsibly." She tilted her head down, leaned her forehead against his, suddenly exhausted, now that he seemed better. She was shaken, wished they could go home, wished she could curl up in his arms and forget about the world. This was them, always holding on, going on, breaking apart and knitting themselves together again. "It's alright." She repeated for him as much as for herself. Hopefully the rioter would die soon. If he filled his reserves up, started again it would end badly.

Reading through the posts, I want to hug all of you. You are great! There is always a way to go on, that's what I tell myself and so far - I'm still around. If anybody needs an open ear, I'll be happy to listen. (And sorry-not-sorry for not sharing more. Admitting the topic was a large step for me, I'm not too comfortable to put details in a thread. It's no disrespect on my part.)

"Sure. I can go to the bar." Maybe Lita was there as well. She pulled out a pancake and started to eat, while he got the door.

Max rioting cut through her fear, left her panting, but happy, focused. For the first time since Oryx had invaded her thoughts she could think clearly. Althea lay there for a moment, collected herself, smiling happily, then she pushed herself up to her knees, looked around. She froze when she saw Max on the ground, his face a mask of guilt, his body shaking. Crawling over she pulled his head to her chest, wrapped her arms around him, kneeling on the ground. Worry brushed against the happiness and she kissed him softly of the head. "Max. I'm here Max, it's alright." She knew what he was feeling, a mirror of her own emotions, her panic was his guilt. We are all broken messes. Wishing she could do something she held him close. "It's not real Max, that's just memories, false emotions. It's not real." Guilt, what could it be? Oasis. He still felt guilty about Oasis. Maybe Mara, rioting could rip open scars long healed over. Herself. Stupid Oasis, it always came back to Oasis. Rashan. Maybe him as well. "I love you Max. You have no reason to feel guilty, to be afraid. I will protect you, you saved me. You saved all those living in Alleycity when the Feind attacked." Still smiling she placed a hand on his cheek. Even the happiness felt wrong now, if only she could share it. She wished to be alone in her mind for an hour, only for an hour. But he was alive, screw the rioting, he was alive. And she would do anything to keep him sane. "Watch my back." She instructed Brashen and then closed her eyes, concentrated. Fear, guilt, anger. She only had her own memories to combat them, but she would try. Trust, she trusted him blindly, so maybe start with that, love happiness, joy. They were all good. Focussing she sent a first memory over, opened her eyes to watch his face, see if there was any reaction. Smiling she gave in, allowed him to take control. Joy and happiness filled her, banished everything else. Laughing at her reaction she caressed his arm. You surprised me, don't worry. For he had surely noticed her initial reaction. He usually read her like an open book. Don't stop. She added, smiling brightly at him, realizing only now how much fear and worry usually accompanied her. She was better than a year ago, but only now that these shadows were gone, she realized how deep her scars ran. Grateful she moved closer to him, enjoyed the warmth of his body, of his arm around her, of his hand holding her close. Her whole day had been filled with happiness and love, but this was so much better. Her hand touched his cheek again, lovingly she stroked over his skin, buried her fingers in his hair. There was so much love in his face, his beautiful dark eyes, his smile. Leaning towards him she kissed him again.

"There is a bar, where you can post jobs. We could ask around there." Lena suggested and then sat down on the floor, looked towards the door. It smelled like metal, like dust. They would have to spend some time to clean everything up. So this was it. The thing she had agreed to. But if she stayed, maybe she could leave a place he could look to one day, and see that it was her work. She sighed again. She was here to find a place for him. If it meant she had to play it nice for once, she would. She could always leave after a while. ======= @xinoehp512

Damaya shook her head. Even with a dulled blade a shardweapon was able to cut through flesh, to sever limbs, but there was no sense to discuss it. She wanted to learn, she would do it on their terms. "I am not. I only ever used a staff, I am not experienced with anything else." She observed Sen flying around. Wait until she made her move, then act herself. Damaya dismissed Coru and picked up her staff. If she wasn't supposed to block anything, then the wodden staff would work as well. She wasn't taking any chances to hurt the girl. @Nohadon
-
Damaya listened to her explanations. Sen was wrong, there was another type of attack. It was called ram your claws into your opponents back and pick at their face. The thought was stupid, she knew the girl was right, but still, she couldn't help but compare her to the birds. The ocean was beautiful, quiet, and it smelled like home. She felt Koyeda drift over slowly, her shape easily visible. It was hard to hide an island. While the girl took of again she reached for her staff, only to let it fall to the ground when she saw the shardblade. This was supposed to be a training, wasn't it? Well, the Canton obviously took fighting more seriously than she'd have prefered. Coru formed a staff in her hands and she moved him up to intercept the blade, stopped it in time. Thankfully the girl had been slow. "Are you crazy?" She shouted at the girl, shocked by the way this was going. "These shardweapons tend to cut of a limb faster than you think. What did you want me to do without one of my own?" Which she couldn't have known, nobody had been there, when she'd spoken the oath, nobody but Araha and Nogard. And Klasten, but Klasten was dead.

"Tell me the numbers." She commanded and stared at him, gestured for Brashen to listen as well. She doubted she would be able to recall them for a long time. Her eyes darted over to Max again, he was still there, still alive, and yet grief weighed her down. She was so useless, but maybe Brashen could help them, even if she couldn't. Desperation, grief, fear, weariness, panic. Althea screamed when they slammed down on her slike a sledgehammer. She fell to her knees, lifted both hands to her head, clawed at her face again. All around her people were dying, but he didn't stop, he went on and on, screaming. Her scream mixed with his, and she felt her will bend under their pressure. Fearfull she waited for the monster to wake up, to take control of her again, but it was gone, Solace had put it to sleep eternally. Her scream died when she ran out of breath, couldn't draw in enough to sustain her body and scream at the same time. Clawing at her throat she tried to breathe, her hands shivvering violently. She'd failed him, she'd failed them all. She was dying, without air she would die, suffocate. Sweat covered her hands, her arms and then the grief was gone, the weariness, leaving nothing but an all consuming panic behind.

"Of course." Damaya smiled at her. "And yes, close to the ocean. When you're up in the sky you should be able to see Koyeda."
-
"No." Lizanne shook her head. "But the eye was watching, so maybe it's a guardian of some sorts. Or a spy." She mused and then froze. Arun was bleeding, Renata had bled, but the rest? What if they had been replaced? What if they were monsters wearing their face? She hid her thoughts, instead continued to make the net.

Zokora waited for their leader, but as he seemed to think about something she took over. She outranked him anyways. At least if she took into account the one she would speak for. "Yes we are. We wanted to apoligize for what happened and ask if there is a way to make up for it." She softened her tone to appear understanding. "The dead are dead, at least most of the time. We know that. This is about the future." @I think I am here.

Lizanne followed Renata back to the fire and took a look at the last page. "Yes. That's the thing. But it's gone." Or it turned invisible. She looked around another time. Where was it, ithad to be here? If you spied, you always stayed close unless you were reporting. Lizanne looked at the mass of rags they had collected and an idea crossed her mind. Cutting them into strips she started to make a net. She could judge the size of the thing, so she made sure it would stay inside, once caught. "What is written next to the picture?" She asked Renata while working. @ZincAboutIt
