  1. Honestly, even before Shallan asked Adolin about that, I was wondering the same thing! I always think about basic biological processes in a fantasy book, it makes it less fantasy and more real! Thanks Brandon for making us ask the important questions! ;D
  2. Who are these Dingers, lol. To become a Fused, don't you need a gemheart? If so, do Horneaters have gemhearts? Rock, I believe formed Nahel bond with his honorspren, but he didn't do that through a gemheart right? I could totally be wrong though.
  3. @Calderis Hey again! Yes I haven't gotten that far yet and I know I probably should've waited till I got farther, but that question was persistent in my mind. Thanks again, friend!
  4. @Calderis Thanks so much! I thought that was the timeline, but I didn't remember seeing Secret History and was looking for that instead of Mistborn.
  5. Ok, another silly question, again, I have not read through the whole of Elantris, but am quickly gobbling it up. When Raoden becomes an Elantrian does he and other Elantrians ever have to or need to use the bathroom? Like they feel hunger and pain acutely, but what about needing the toilet?
  6. Ok, so I have started reading Elantris, which is fascinating, as I expected it to be. Previously, I had read Mistborn Secret History and Kelsier meets some Elantrians or Aonic people? My question is, when Kelsier meets these people, have the events in Elantris already taken place? Or is this before? I looked it up and I didn't see exactly when Secret history takes place in relation to Elantris. (I hope I didn't give any spoilers, I don't quite know how to do things here, like quotes and such, much apologies!) Thanks guys!!
  7. This is beautiful!! This is how I imagined a forming Shard made would look like! Great job!
  8. The ghanderflaffle was irritated that it was in any way related to the irrelevant explosion, so it decided to become one of the biggest explosions out of its whole family. It proceeded to try to blow up one of Butt's deadly Fart Bombs. This was a mistake.
  9. The Fartomancers that remained wondered how such an explosion could be irrelevant. But than regretted their moment of pondering only to be blasted halfway across the Cosmere somewhere within Shadesmar. Immediately, they became flanked with hoardes of Cryptic salesmen.
  10. As always, guys this was great! It's so easy to read the books and get lost in only your interpretation. It's great to have a "book discussion" and hear other people's interpretation! So I wanted to say a couple of things: 1. Listener rhythms; I think they do have a spiritual component to it, like, I believe, @WeiryWriter said however, (I think this was mentioned) I think it's more physical than anything else. We know the Parshendi are important to the ecosystem of Roshar. Notice there isn't another lifeform mentioned as important ( we of course know life is important for a planet, but you know). Nature I think even on Earth has it's own rhythms, that sometimes you can hear if you are silent or pay attention enough. I've always imagined the Listeners to be specially attuned to nature through almost another sense, i.e. they have taste, smell, etc., and attunement. 2. I find it interesting that Roshar as a planet has a high oxygen environment and Roshar everything is just bigger in general, minus I guess the humans living in Shinovar. A Rosharan year and foot is longer than the Cosmere standard. So, the humans that live on Roshar have evolved to the point physically and elsewise, that at this point they are Rosharan. There are many groups of people on our world that say live in the mountains and through a couple generations, they have physically adapted to that climate. I also find it interesting that Khriss mentions that on Roshar, the relationship between humans and spren are quite dramatic, just like everything else on Roshar. So, I think that, hopefully, not too soon, we'll see the Parshendi, Listeners, and Humans manage to live together without killing each other. I can't see the exile of one of these species from the planet as viable, where would they go? To the firey hell of Ashyn or the cold hell of Braize. Both suck and hopefully eventually they come to a peaceful resolution. (The conflict/buildups are the best part of the story of course!) 3. The impression I got from the Desolations, the little we know, we almost distractions, so Odium could do his thing? Like the bigger picture is not the conflict between Listeners and Humans. If that makes sense, it's just shards are so hard to read! Also I'm so curious to see what Cultivation's role in this is going to be!! I guess, I'm trying to say is are these Desolations, these conflicts just a distraction? 4. I think humans are so pervasive throughout the Cosmere is because Adonalsium and then the concurrent 16 Vessels knew what the blueprint of a human was, so why not use that? Also if the Herdazians are any indication, humans are very hardy, able to withstand much, and able to breed with other "humanoid" type species. It's our superpower, at least according to many fantasy/sci-fi books! 5. I love that the Listeners are so musical! Their songs and they way they pass down information is really neat, as well as their forms! That blew my mind when I first read that, I literally couldn't comprehend that for a couple of minutes. 6. Who else is excited to see how the politics play out on Roshar with the Parshendi taking cities and forming their own government? That intrigues me. Like imagine a meeting between Queen Jasnah and a Parshendi king? Right? 7. Lastly, what I love, especially, about Stormlight, is that, at least for me, I immediately sympathized with humans, I'm a human, why not be team human. The Parshmen are almost background noise for a little bit in Way of Kings, so they are easy to ignore. Than we move along throughout the story and than turns out humans were the bad guys? Or at least weren't totally innocent. The Parshendi and the Listeners you almost start to sympathize with them super quickly. They are so nice as to give humans refuge they stab them in the back (which says a lot about human nature). There are no "bad" and "good" guys, no black and white. It's complicated, just like life here. Anyways, sorry this is so long. You guys are awesome, but next time do a Listener podcast with the Rhythms! ;D
  11. Stoneward spren are presumably for the order of stoneward. Doesn't Dalinar do "stonewardy" stuff in Thaylen City, when he repairs statues and walls? Do we know what they do? Or, since Dalinar is a Bondsmith, was he just reaffixing the bonds of the broken stones back together? Do we know of any current Stonewards?
  12. The red glow touched the Fartomancer army and only those with the strongest of wills weren't affected by the glow, Butt Venture being one of them. The rest started to mutate into hideous, globulous creatures whose Farting power was increased dramatically. Just looking at them made one want to run and than the smell hit you. Conflict started to giggle with delight and Odium looked at the hideous creatures in disgusted delight. "Touché, Conflict. Nice moves for a beginner. But you haven't seen anything yet!" Thought Odium.
  13. I've got plenty more puns where that came from, but I'll spare you all. ;p Butt didn't realize how hard it was to find a legion of Fartomancers. Most Fartomancers were a touchy lot, who liked to keep to themselves. Even the threat of Odium couldn't pique their interest. So, he came up with a bribe instead; one that no Fartomancer could resist.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if Trell had something to do with it. I have a couple of theories on Trell, one of them being, it's maybe an undiscovered metal, possibly a god metal? I'm probably wrong though.
  15. I dunno. I'll be honest, I'm really into this whole Fartsmere/Cosmere Butt Venture story. I guess you could say I'm Invested. *wink wink*
  16. I don't know. All I know is I'm kinda into this Fartsmere/Cosmere Butt Venture story. Help.
  17. Odium gladly took the food, but being Odium he wasn't satisfied for long. He not only needed to be the only complete shard in the Cosmere, but also have all of the most exotic food too. Lift and Mr. Fused couldn't let that happen, so they gathered the Resistance in secret. Butt and Kelsier were the first recruits. Next, they needed the help of the Knight Radient and of course the best legion of Fartomancers trained by the Master, himself.
  18. Lift and Mr. Fused had a grand time traveling the Cosmere for the most legendary of tasty foods. Mr. Fused became so find of Lift that he unofficially adopted her. Life was well for them for a time, until the Ghostbloods caught up to them with some important yet devastating information. There were two words on the note, "Odium comes."
  19. I dunno if I liked the convo between Harmony and Wax. I know Harmony is a god and he is balance and he can't directly interfere. But for all Wax does for him, you would think Harmony could've at least said I'm sorry. It just felt like he said things like any god would say. I can't stop this suffering because it would cause even greater suffering. However, I am glad that they talked it out and Wax was able to forgive himself. Although, I think his love for Steris played a big part in his recovery more so than his convo with Harmony.
  20. Upon eating Moash, Lift became more awesome than ever before. She cocked her head and studied Mr. Fused and asked him, "Have you heard of the legendary Bacon Ramen noodles from Mr. Mashaloto? He makes them once a year at the Festival of Lights. They change location every year; only those most worthy will find it. I'm awesome and you seem like you could use some cheering up. Wanna check it out?" "Oh Lift ! What are you doing!?" Thought Butt.
  21. Butt was sitting by the fire, smoking his pipe when Moash stopped in bringing with him what appeared to be a giant geode man with spikes driven through his eyes, who went by the name of Mr. Fused. They didn't look like they wanted to talk. "Oh rusting great," thought Butt, " they know about the Secret. I'm screwed."
  22. "I can't win! All what I want is this kick-chull FartCloak and there's a shade!" Thought Butt. Butt tried a different tactic. He started to talkto the shade to explain his problem, but didn't know how. So, Butt just said with a menacing growl, "Kelsier!" The shade froze and started to groan.
  23. Butt thought for a moment. "Is this worth it? Storms, yeah! Let's do this! I don't have to give my soul, I'll find someone else's!" Said Butt. He grabbed the FartCloak paid the half the emerald broams upfront and set up a payment plan for the rest.
  24. He ended up going to the very old and reputable shop called Fartomancers Emporium. They were guaranteed to have the quality FartCloak he was looking for. He entered the shop and saw the jazziest FartCloak he had ever seen. "This is the one." Thought Butt
  25. I know how you feel! I have all these theories and most of them are a no go! I can't wait for Dragonsteel, than maybe some things will make a little more sense!
