  1. So I have been able to find full maps of the Cosmere with all the shards and full maps with all known Worldhoppers. However I was looking for a map of the Cosmere with the distances between the planets. Basically, I want to know how far and how long it would take to travel the whole Cosmere Universe with a space ship, something like the Millenium Falcon. A ship that could warp speed. I don't know if we even know how far the planets are from each other in the physical realm? If this doesn't exist, but we know relatively the distance between each system, then does anyone know where to find it, because I want to map this out, for science. Thanks guys!
  2. Yes Mat is still ta'veren while Kelsier is still an Allomancer. The scenario I have in my head is Mat is drinking at a bar in Scadrial because through some crazy cosmic occurrence he got there. And Kelsier comes walking in and from there, for the sake of this scenario, they get into a bar fight that gets way out of hand real fast. Although I'd like to think they'd become if not friends crew members at least.
  3. Let's make it real interesting- with Allomancy after all Mat has countless memories of battles, so he already has a huge advantage. Edit-this is more of a semi serious inquiry that I also thought could be funny.
  4. While Butt was cooking, Mr. Krabs bursts through the door demanding the Krabby Patties be cooked faster. "There's a big line of customers outside me boy! We need to make some money!" Said Mr. Krabs

  6. I have to say that Sazed wrestling with his faith, the death of Vin and Elend, and finding out what Lessie is in Shadows of Self. They stilll make me stop thinking. I think those collection of moments of being so profound as to make you stop and think are what makes the series as a whole resonate with the reader.
  7. You are right this is perfect!! Who woulda thought! Shallan and Wayne partners!! Actually makes sense!
  8. Yeah, upon reflection Mat would win, but I don't think Kelsier would go down easily. He is the Survivor after all!
  9. I wasn't sure whether to post this in the Mistborn or WOT category, but I had a thought. How cool would it be to have to awesome wildcards like Kelsier and Mat meet up!? I feel they would either become enemies or they would team up and cause havok all over the Cosmere or on Randland! I think they would make a hilariously, aggravating team together!
  10. Guys excellent podcast that raised more questions than answers. I think you guys summed it up nicely, it is almost impossible to use one word to describe a shard and just as it is impossible for our brains to truly comprehend such awesome splinters of divine power. That being said I think that Odium is passion fueled hate? (If that makes sense!) I think when Dalinar truly "saw" Odium and "all" that he is - i.e. lust, joy, exultation, etc. are in fact those feelings (I believe them to be divine too) as Rayse perceives them, but through a lens of hatred and not just any kind but divine hatred. I think Odium's Intent has been warped because it was splintered off from its host, Adonalsium, so all what it has left are these emotions and nothing else to temper them. So hatred is winning and I think that Rayse's perception of the shard's Intent is also worth noting. At the very least we know that Rayse is not a nice person and add this shard, now he is a really dangerous, not nice force. I think that Rayse and Odium's goals were always aligned, therefore I wouldn't be surprised if more of Rayse's mind is intact say compared to Leras and Ati as we saw especially in Secret History. I also think perception is key here too; it affects how you act and think and this is very important when it comes to Vessels and Shardic Intent. This doesn't mean I don't think Rayse isn't an excellent liar, most especially to himself. I think what he showed to Dalinar was what Rayse/Odium's thought of themselves, not what they truly were or at least not all of what he/they is. Also interesting to note the word Odium is a term for general/widespread hatred or disgust directed towards someone as a result of their actions. Makes you think, if other shards/Vessels gave him that name from the start he must have been a rusting, storming terrible excuse for a human being and the shard just exemplified his storming pile of chull dung. Also worth noting, when you read Khriss's annotations of the different systems in the Cosmere, only Odium is mentioned as a warning to all visitors passing through the Rosharan system and as a threat to the Cosmere at large (at least that's my impression). ( The only other thing she mentions as a large force affecting the whole of the Cosmere is hemalurgy and maybe Nightblood? I know definitely hemalurgy is mentioned by her at least) Notice when you read her Scadrial annotations, she doesn't mention Ruin for instance and she was there while Ruin was destroying Scadrial for at least some of the time. Why doesn't she mention the danger of anyone holding the shard Ruin? Idon't know about you but Entropy scares me more than hatred any day! Anyways I'm sure most of these thoughts are junk, but as always great podcast! Can't wait for the next one. I think if we can take away anything from this is that beware of divine hatred and passion as without anything to temper them, they can easily destroy! Thanks again guys!
  11. @King Cole Ooh!! That is also on my list! Halfway through Cosmere novels, than on to the rest with some other novels in between! Thanks for letting me know!
  12. Hey, so I had to just get this off my chest. I just finished "The Pits of Eltania" short story and it was hilarious! My biggest hope is that we get to see a novel of Jak and my favorite, Handerwym! I absolutely loved his footnotes! They reminded me of a book I read way long ago, "The Amulet of Samarkand"? I think that's what it was called? Anyways there was a snarky demon, I think Bartimaeus? He did footnotes that were just as hilarious as I remember it. To end my ramble, I love Handerwym and hope that he gets to meet Wayne and have him write a story with footnotes! It's one of my many dreams for the Cosmere. ;D
  13. I'd like to see that! That would be a sweet graphic novel!!
  14. I am reading Shadows of Self for the first time, so of course I haven't gotten to Bands of Mourning, but I have read all other Mistborn books. Rust and Ruin they are all amazing! Vin and Elend are one of my favorite book couples and I totally bawled my eyes out at the end of The Heros of Ages! The Final Empire was my favorite because it just drew me in with the mists and Vin. She's a baddy! She needs to get to Roshar and kick all kinds of Fused and Odium arse!
  15. @Caesura Right! My first imaginings -Allmonacer Batmans!!
  16. @Caesura Thanks!! And yes with the Mistcloak and the obsidian knives, impresses everyone reading with an awesome impression!!
  17. Hello everyone! So, I have been on Scadrial for a while and I was wondering why obsidian knives? Do they just look cool? Why couldn't Vin or anyother Mistborn use say a turquoise knife or any other non metallic knife? Does obsidian affect Allomancers especially? Or is obsidian a stone blade that is exceptionally strong and not brittle/won't snap under pressure? Maybe I'm over analyzing things, but obsidian seems to be mentioned specifically in regards to Mistborn weaponry and some soldiers I thought had obsidian tipped spears? Thanks everyone!
  18. I first heard of Brandon through WOT. Loved the way he wrote and finished off the series so much; I picked up Stormlight and am quickly gobbling up everything he has written. Currently, I am on Scadrial with dishy Wax and Wayne. I can't stop!

    Shardcast: Odium

Excellente ! This podcast as always is great! I wonder if Odium knew he was being trapped in the Rosharan system because he knew in the long run (since time means nothing to any of the shard bearers) he could defeat Honor and Cultivation? Maybe he's biding his time, or maybe he isn't as clever as I think. Rayse and consequently Odium are fascinating, I think. Thanks guys again for the great podcast! @Chaos @WeiryWriter @Argent @thegatorgirl00
  20. Ok that's really not a lot of metal in one's blood. So I guess besides killing someone, I couldn't see the point besides making you look powerful and a baddy. @Weltall I was also imagining an X-Men scene! It looked pretty sweet in my head! Sidenote, thinking about pulling metal from blood, the Mistborn series era 1 or 2 could make an awesome open world type video game! The Investitures on this planet would look amazing played out on screen!
  21. @The One Who Connects Ok so maybe I should start a different question thread? But here goes, if you could find an intact shard could you as a normal person, not a god or spren, pick it up? I'm imagining the shards to have been once a part of a large cosmic sword and than it shattered into 16 pieces. Are they of the physical, cognitive, or spiritual realm or of all 3? I would think all 3 because of the Investitures on shardworlds seem to affect all realms or at least more than one? I'll start another thread for my questions on Hoid. I want to look and see if I can find the answers in the Coppermind first.
  22. @The One Who Connects Ok so if you are a powerful enough Allomancer or whatnot and could pull the metals from your blood what would be the advantage of such a skill besides the obvious- you can kill or immobilize your opponent very quickly- could you recycle the metal pulled? How much metal would even come out of the blood of a full grown adult? We have about 1.5 gallons of blood on an Earthling, but that may not be the amount of blood a Scadrian would have for example. Maybe you could "coinshot" the metals in the blood? Projectiles?
  23. @Dunkum Thanks!! I dunno why I thought it wasn't possible! I think Hoid and his Investiture that we see him do confuse me, because I don't know what his deal is. I have some idea, but more questions than answers!
  24. I haven't gotten around to Mistborn era 2 quite yet, so maybe some rules changed, but I thought you couldn't pull internal metals? Like you couldn't pull an Inquisitors' spike by pulling on it with iron because it's inside them? Also if you could do that and have an Awakener awaken the metal, it would be very laborious to say the least. I think the question would be what would be the advantage of doing something so labor intensive? Would it give an you an extra edge? Interesting questions.
  25. Ok thanks!! I was a little confused because I thought that the shard Odium had splintered Dominion and Devotion which would have required Odium and presumably the others an awareness or maybe attunness to each other since at one point and time they were one? Or maybe Odium's driving force of becoming the only shard in the Cosmere grants it the ability to know of/sense other shards?
