It’s stated in the book that Dalinar was claimed by someone and it’s a bit ambiguous (imo) if this was a shard or if it was referring to the beyond. Does anyone think that Valor could have claimed him and be looking to use him in his fight with Retribution? I’ve seen it suggested that Valor could be hiding out in the Roshar system, possibly in the spiritual or cognitive realm. So could have been close at hand? It would be very cool to see some aspect of Dalinar return. Maybe wishful thinking on my part! edit - stupid spellcheck

I’m sure it’s been mentioned several times in WOB and in the books about him wanting to bring back a former lover?

I’ve been away from the books for a while and not anywhere near as clued up as some but was it ever revealed what/where the shard that wants to hide is? Could this be it hanging out on some large meteor that has effectivively planetised with its influence?

I assumed he chose the Crimson sea because it saw less traffic than any other seas except midnight so he would be disturbed less there and also keep his distance from Riina and midnight essence?

There was also some very interesting paintings on Nalthis but that book was set waaaay in the past compared to SP3. Could be similar mechanics though?

Felt strikes me as someone with the right skill set/history to be a potential candidate?

I stuck with this all the way to the end which was hard going because the books are one of my favourite series. Not for me but glad others seem to have enjoyed it, at least in part.

Just got some time to read the chapter but not the thread yet. interesting that the planet names were spelled out like she had been listening in to someone say them rather than seeing them written down? Getting closer to full Cosmere awareness!

Some event created a shadow version or copy of Nalthis? The fact it seems to be the same size, planet shaped and on the same orbit as Nalthis really doesn’t seem to leave many other options?

One thought I have had with ingenuity is that if it is a shard that presides over a planet wouldn't those people be by far the most advanced civilisation? i think from memory Taldain was by far the most advanced setting (at least up until the enforced isolation)? can we then assume if it is a shard then it hasn't been influencing people? In which case it probably is the shard that has hidden itself away?

Yeah he's done something to pick up at least some of the allomantic powers, I wouldn't go as far as saying he's used up all the lerasium though.

I'm sure in the letters Autonomy confirms that Hoid has been trespassing. It doesn't prove or disprove anything either way though. Im also not sure we have confirmation he has used the Lerasium.
