@MetaTerminal “I’m not 100% sure. My uncle called it the ‘Hall of Legends’. Apparently they honor old heroes. I found this in one of the statues’ pockets. Do you have any idea what it means?” @Nohadon do you agree? @The Forgetful Archivist

Mr. Amber walked back into the Waystop, alone this time, and sat down in one of the booths, waiting for the rest of the newcomers to be dealt with before approaching Yzabet again.

"Wait, Uncle Amber. What is that?" Ski said, point out the window towards a large building glowing with a soft light. "That? That is the Hall of Legend. A place to honor heroes of the Alleyverse. In fact..." Mr. Amber turned the car towards the building. "You should read up on those people. It will teach you faster then I could about the different denizens of this realm and the different forms of magic that appear here." "So it's history?" Ski groaned, much less interested now. "In a sense, but I would have to teach you anyway, you would have complained anyway, and I'm busy getting us a house and a job. So go explore, I will return when I have settled everything with the Waystop." Pulling up next to the building, the car's passenger door flew open and the seat launched Ski out. After a surprised scream, Ski turned the fall into a roll and landed on her feet. "If you weren't crippled I'd pound you old man!" Laughing Mr. Amber just drove away. Sighing, Ski walked into the building. Staring at all the statues, she sighed again. "Stupid.." She trailed off as she saw something in one of the statues' pockets. "What is this?" She pulled it out and read it. 17 myths around the verse 4 blades, in the hands of those trusted 2 rings, lying on 2 lovers, forever separated 1 deck of cards, used by the one you look at now 5 stones, buried in 5 guilds 3 sets of armor, hidden between three sets of spirits 1 band, hidden in luck And a long forgotten metal, held by one who cannot be found, but instead one who everyone sees

I sometimes feel the same way about snakes and spiders. They get a bad rap. Welcome and enjoy the shard @KeyraDK

"Thank you, but I must be going. I will return later." With that Mr. Amber walked out of the Waystop with Ski following. "Where are we going now?" Tired of walking, and businessing. Ski wanted to train. "Somewhere for you to continue training." Ski started, sometimes it felt like her uncle could read her mind. They returned to the pool and walked through. Walking out into the Alleyverse again, Mr. Amber paused. "Alright, where is this training ground I've heard about?"

"Ah yes. Hello. My name Is Mr. Amber and I have a business proposition for you." He gestured around and the many people. "Now you are doing quite well and have many customers, but you also seem kind of....frazzled, trying to deal with this many people at once. I am a chocolate maker and I would be interested in setting up a.....partnership if you will, with you. The more variety your Waystop can offer, the more people will come, and the more people that come, the more money you make. The second part of the deal is that you no longer would have to deal with every customer yourself, as I would be able to help with that. And thirdly, my niece, Ski, would be willing to help out as long as she isn't busy with her other interests." With this, Ski looked up, startled. I was not informed I would be helping this lady out. Hmph, I better get paid. Mr. Amber set a small package on the counter. "This has some of the varieties of chocolate I make. I do not expect your answer immediately, as it is a big decision, and I have some business elsewhere at the moment. Is it alright with you if I check in later this evening?"

Hoid. Because then I know about dragons. Would you rather get eaten by a chasmfiend, or by a giant sandling? -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Life&Death replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I got my friend to read it. But he read the first book and half of the second while telling me he hadn’t started, just to troll me. Now he is halfway through HoA but won’t finish it just to annoy me. (Either that or he’s finished it but won’t tell me again.) The worst part is he owns nearly every Brandon Sanderson book signed by Brandon Sanderson, and hasn’t read any of them!!!! -
Thanks for the feedback. I will admit it is a bit stereotypical. That will be discussed in chapter one. Soul doesn't know much as he's been locked up his whole life. Indeed. But Soul is not actually the protagonist. The prologue is just the best way to introduce you to him as he is very important, but not the protagonist.

I am starting a rough draft for a book and would appreciate feedback. What I have now is about half a prologue. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1s4PG5bqgPaJ7dq-haq-eGp8TF8_IzLbMqxzvQTZ5JM8/edit

Hello and Welcome to the Shard! Emperors Soul is amazing, if slower paced. I understand not loving white sand, it's not the best but I still enjoyed it. What is your favorite Brandon Sanderson book? Do you prefer chocolate or vanilla?

Ask Axelius Anything* (AKA Sanderson vs. Tolkien Duel)
Life&Death replied to Sherlock Holmes's topic in AMAs
I'm not going to take a stance on this, but as the Archer stated, it was Pokemon style fight so Brandon gets control of what TLR does, effectively removing his overconfidence and actively making him fight as powerful as possible. This is the same for Tolkien.
