“When Yzabet arrives, I expect the cookie dough I was promised.” Soul said, playing with a knife.

Soul faced the Phoenix and tapped all the heat from the shield in one instant while also tapping health from the rod. Heat exploded from him, ionizing the air and engulfing both him and the Phoenix in a massive explosion. Soul grunted pain flooded him. His eyes smoldered in his head, so he was unable to see how effective his bomb was in killing the Phoenix. The sheild, now completely drained of heat melted and coated Soul in boiling metal. The only thing keeping him alive was the goldmine he was tapping. As it was, his arms and legs burnt and charcoaled before bursting apart. The rod started melting, adding to the intense pain Soul was feeling. ”Goodbye Elefthera.” He whispered. “I’m sorry.” Health empty from the goldmind, Soul disintegrated into ash, his spike that kept him alive melted, all saving properties no longer in affect. Soul was completely, and irreversibly, dead. Elefthera paused as the sky shone gold as a massive explosion lit up the air. She had led citizens away from the fighting. Saved them from the horrors that were occurring throughout the city. “Goodbye <Redacted>. Goodbye Soul.” She whispered. She felt the bond between them strain, and then shatter as Soul died, more completely then before. El closed her eyes and returned to Shadesmar, unable to manifest as before in the physical world.

The Phoenix followed Soul into the sky. Far above the fighting that went on in the city. “I’m sorry El. For what this will probably do to you.” Soul whispered. “Go help below. I will say goodbye, before it is done.” El looked at Soul in sorrow. “Goodbye <Redacted>” She whispered, using Soul’s real name for the first time. Soul smiled slightly as he heard his real name for the first time in thirty years. El zipped back down the the ground in a stream of silvery liquid, while Soul continued to speed upwards.

One cookie is harmless and tasty. The other will rip parts of your soul off, but is also tasty.

Four spikes had been ripped out of the monstrosity, and it was not even slowing down. “This isn’t working.” Soul cursed. He looked at the damage the Phoenix had done, how many people it killed, and made his decision. Soul lashed himself back to the Ghostblood’s camp, walked into a supply tent and grabbed a huge brass shield and a large gold rod. The shield was packed full of stored heat. More then any other in the camp. It had enough heat to incinerate half the alleycity. The rod had a huge amount of health stored in it. Soul sliced the rod on the tip, sharpening it, and then rammed it into his chest. Blood streamed from his chest, right next to a large spike. ”Alright, do your job and keep me alive.” Soul said, addressing the spike. Soul lashed himself back into the air at the flaming bird. ”I’m sorry I never got to the fifth oath El. And that I haven’t been the greatest Skydancer.” ”A Skydancer is different then the Skybreakers and edge dancers. Skybreakers follow the law to protect people, while edgedancers deal with healing the souls of those who are broken. You do both, you sacrifice yourself to save the freedom of others.” Soul smiled. “I must fufill that ideal. Even though I never completed the oaths.” Soul flew over the bird and dive bombed it’s head with his Shardblade. “Follow me you flaming cremling.” He cursed as he flew straight up into the sky, staying right in front of the Phoenix’s face swiping at it’s beak over and over.

Soul darted in towards the bird’s neck started slicing feathers and bits of skin off of it. Finding a small spike he grabbed it and ripped it out, lashing himself away. ”Ack...Cough......got one. Only a lot more to go. On a giant bird that’s trying to kill everyone. And is on fire. And can heal. Storms, this is going to kill me.” @Voidus

Soul smashed through a building but made sure to land in a heroic pose that shot stormlight out in a ring of smoke. ”Alright you rusting piece of crem.” He cursed, looking back up at the bird. “Time to take away your healing power.” Lashing himself up again he darted around the flying avian demon looking for spikes to pull out.

The blast of hot air would have stripped the flesh from Soul’s body if he wasn’t wearing shardplate. As it was, it still hurt. “Looks like I won’t get that cookie dough I was promised.” He muttered. Flying up he lashed himself towards the left wing of the monstrosity and slashed at it, hoping to take the whole thing off.

Yeah, Soul will probably get annihilated by a giant firebird. So I might need a new character altogether.

Stormlight rushes into Soul, more then he had ever had before. Power filled him along with his new purpose. ”Alright El, let’s do what we are best at, and kill things.” Soul darted through the sky faster than an eye blink towards the giant Phoenix that was laying the Alleycity to waste. “You will pay for the deaths you have cause.” Smaller monsters and black crusade marines died as Soul past, blades slicing through them almost as an afterthought.

What magic system would you like to possess?
Life&Death replied to Alorion's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I would probably want the surges gravitation and friction. Since no order has that mix I submit that I want to become a Skydancer. (Either that or a Yolen Dragon) -
Soul hovered 20 feet above the alleys, watching Rashan’s sacrifice. The battle raged on below him as hemalurgic abominations continued to rush to the tower, still driven by hate, but for once, Soul had no wish to return to killing. ”That man’s sacrifice was the greatest it could be.” He whispered to El. “He helped me remember why I went to war, and why I started killing. I had forgotten, gotten caught up in the thrill of fighting. I started fighting to protect people. To save them. To free them.” ”You can do that again. People need to be saved right now.” El replied. “You can be that man again.” Soul remained silent, and then tapped Identity. He rushed back through many different times of his life, remembering pain, rage, death, and blood until he became someone he never thought he would return to. He became as he was when he was a child. An innocent child, who’s only wish was for people to be free, and happy. A person who knew no fighting or killing. looking around the carnage with these new eyes, Soul was horrified at what he saw. The child in an old warriors body started to weep. Sobbing, Soul stopped tapping Identity, and instead stored it, saving this new part of him, the warrior with the ideals of a child, into his metalminds permanently. Returning to normal, Soul drew his swords. ”Now I will fight. Not to kill as I once did, but to honor Rashan’s final wish. I will protect innocents from the bondage of death.” “The words are accepted.” Soul spun around in shock. ”Did I..? Did I just....?” ”Yes. You just swore the fourth ideal of the Skydancers.” El replied, smiling wider the she ever did before. “That man’s sacrifice enabled you to swear the oath you could not swear before.” “Then let’s honor that oath.” Soul’s black combat armor disengaged, and black shardplate that flowed with purple light appeared in it’s place. It was the same style as the combat suit, and was less massive then traditional armor. “This seems less restrictive then I imagined El.” ”Well I am a freedom spren, what did you expect?” Grinning, Soul pulled out his sword made from bone, and summon his Shardblade. If he died fulfilling this oath, then so be it.
