A space marine, wearing a huge jetpack, tapped Tena on the shoulder. "They'll be along shortly," she said. "Now, show me the exact spot where it happened."

"That's great! Thank you..." she trailed off, watching Tena fly into the air. "...lovely." Augusta turned around, looking hopefully at Irae, the team's Inceptor. She nodded once, activating her jump pack and soaring to the top of the crater. Augusta turned back towards the long set of stairs that led up to the top. "Lovely," she repeated.

Kerith quickly scanned the interior, then sighed in relief. "Orren is okay," he said. "We need to get the dreadnought into the Thunderhawk. This is a job for the Omnissiah to solve, not magic." -

Kerith winced at the blatant desecration of the dreadnought's sacred systems, but he clambered on top of the mech anyway, grabbing hold of the sarcophagi's edge and pulling with Deras. "Don't... cut it open," he said, straining at the ancient metal. "Orren's... been injured... for too long to be healed." -
"First: can you take us to the spot where she died?"

Augusta did a double-take between Tena and the door. "I'm going to murder that informant," she growled. Taking a deep breath, she said, "Tena, could you spare a moment? I need to ask you some questions about a Homeless you killed sixteen years ago. A woman by the name of Naermen." @AxeliustheGreat

"Orren?" Kerith called. "Orren!" He started jogging towards the motionless dreadnought. The sarcophagi in the dreadnought's center sparked again, tiny flames springing into life around the gaping hole. "Storms, storms storms storms storms! Orren!" -
Deathwatch Captain Augusta carefully climbed the wooden stairs, wincing with every creak. The walkways of this canyon-complex had been built to support a Shardbearer, just in case the city was invaded again. But Augusta doubted it was meant to support 4 at the same time- space marines, no less, who were taller and more dense than normal humans. Basically, one wrong move would send Augusta and her kill-team hurtling towards the canyon floor. Augusta took another careful step. The wood didn’t break, thank the Emperor. She was finally on the entrance platform for the house, after a whole frakking hour of climbing these steps. Now, she got to do the fun part of her job. Augusta knocked on the door. @AxeliustheGreat

The dreadnought's only response was a burst of sparks, gushing from the massive hole in its center. Static poured from the speakers, filling the arena with eerie white noise. -

The dreadnought stumbled backwards, its stubby legs slipping in the sand and sending it crashing into the ground. It didn't move. Back at the gate, Kerith slowly unfolded his arms and straightened. -

Any heavy metal music would fit my guys/gals. The more bass, the better.

A hidden panel in the wall opened, and a nondescript man stuck his head out, frowning at Yzabet. "I'm sorry, could you repeat that?" he said.

Dreadnought Orren shrugged with his one arm. He took a single step forward, slamming Devaan with his fist. The Shardplate shattered, and the Terrisman was sent flying across the arena. "As you wish!" he shouted towards Devaan. -

"But... this body, it is a weapon. I cannot hold things." The dreadnought held up its single hand, flexing the short, tiny fingers as an example. They couldn't even touch each other. -

Something rattled around in the dread's interior, and a loud bang resounded inside the metal hull. "I do not understand this," a voice, heavily distorted by static from the dreadnought's speakers, said. "You... seek death by combat?" -

The stubby hand moved up to the dreadnought's* center, holding the tiny knife in front of its eye-slit. As soon as Devaan turned around, it awkwardly tossed the knife behind it. *This is a dreadnought: -
"You really must try it, my Queen, " the space marine said, pulling off his helmet and taking a swig. He wiped his mouth and burped. "Best thing that happened since mead."

The space marine stands up, his rusted joints creaking and scraping as they finally moved. "Thank goodness," he said, grabbing a root beer. "I thought I was going to be stuck there forever!"

The front gate opened slightly as Kerith poked his head in. "Hey, Devaan?" he said, pushing the gate wide open. "The big guy's here." A giant mech stood there, nearly fifteen feet tall. It was blocky, with stubby legs and a single arm that ended in a box-shaped fist. Where the other arm should have been had an over-sized rotary cannon. The mech's plating was painted black, adorned with dozens of golden cogwheels and skulls, and a silver hand was embossed on the center. Kerith seemed to enjoy their shock. He leaned against the wall, chuckling. "Brother-Captain Orren," he said, waving towards the group, "meet your new friends. And please, try not to kill anyone this time."
