  1. "You were already there?" Drako said. "Frakk. I was hoping to go there myself." He stopped, turning around to face Devaan. "Get someone to write up a report," he said. "How many astartes they had, their vehicles, their cultists, their weaponry. The battlefield is still there, I'm told. If you can spare them, send some Blood Angels to do physical reconaissance." He looked decidedly put off, with his chance to go to the field now dead and buried. @Nohadon
  2. "A Chaos incursion, in Roshar," Drako said. He pressed a button on the side of his helm for a few seconds, speaking through his helmet vox. He lowered his hand, looking back to Devaan. "We're not done here," he said. "Ready one of your Thunderhawks. We'll talk on the flight to the Waystop." @Nohadon
  3. "Devaan, you owe me a lot storming more than a 'debt'," Drako snapped. "You destroyed one of our dreadnoughts, murdered the honored veteran inside, and now you tell me you've been hiding information?" Drako abruptly lowered his sword, flipping off the activation rune and carrying the blade with his other hand. He pushed past Devaan, heading out into the hall. "Follow me," he said. "Something's come up."
  4. Drako nodded, making a mental note to reinforce the Roshar defences. This "Nightwatcher" would need to be watched, either to prevent Chaos from corrupting it or, in the worst case scenario, to try and banish it from the Materium. With that done, he turned his attention back to Devaan. "If this 'curse' is real," he said, "why haven't you mentioned it before? You could have gone to the Librarius, and sought the help of our psykers. You could have asked the Grey Knights for an exorcism. You could have come to me, storm it! "I'm your friend, Devaan," he said. "We've fought together for 16 years now. Why would you keep this from me?" @Nohadon
  5. "My name is just Bob," the sorcerer said, sounding confused. "Are you not a Greater Daemon of Tzeentch?" There was definitely something off about this being, but the sorcerer couldn't put his finger on it. He'd taken the massive cloud of beige protruding from the human's back, visible only to his psychic eye, as a sign that Ioc was a daemonhost of some kind. The aura of sheer chaos radiating from it was almost identical to the God of Change's, if overwhelmingly strong. What was going on? @Gancho Libre
  6. The sorcerer rolled over, looking at Ioc. For some reason, he flinched, staring in horror at something just above it. "Just call me Bob, O Great Changer of Ways," he said, pushing himself to his feet quickly. "What is this artifact you speak of?
  7. A red-armored space marine stepped in front of Klasten. "Shove off," he said, raising his bolter threateningly. "This section is off limits." "Boon? Bane? Devaan, what are you talking about?"
  8. Drako sighed, noticing Devaan slip off his shoe. Even after sixteen years, the old drake was as paranoid as ever. That was part of the problem, honestly. "Devaan, you know what I'm talking about," he said. "I send a pupil to you, and you beat him into the ground. Do you even realize how much damage you caused to the dreadnought chasis?" He stepped closer, looming over Devaan. "Six-thousand years, Devaan. That dreadnought was a priceless relic of the Iron Hands, and now it's gone, thanks to you."
  9. The hall was empty. Devaan's footsteps echoed in the massive hall, which stretched nearly all the way across the fortress. Other footsteps sounded, walking towards Devaan. A red-eyed giant, armored in green ceramite, carrying a flaming sword on his shoulder. Dozens of war honors were inscribed on his plate, but his chestplate was blank, save for a single single name written below the golden Aquila. Drako He'stan, warmaster of the Black Crusade, looked grimly at his old friend. "We need to talk," he said. @Nohadon
  10. A tattered, ancient poster hangs limply from the board. It flutters in the wind, nearly forgotten.
  11. "Right away, sir!" The steel gates swung open.
  12. Stupid question- could I join if I played a Warhammer 40k character? No surges, no spren- just the power of grimdark.
  13. The sorcerer stared at the unfamiliar sky for a long time, before groaning weakly and curling up into a ball.
  14. a. This isn't a roleplay. b. Technically, Warhammer 40k came before you did, Lopen 1b. So, you would be in violation of copyright laws c. But would you like to help out with the lore project anyway? Just go read the first post!
  15. The sorcerer backhanded Deras, trying to knock him back and disarm him. He followed it up with a gout of ghostly flame, spraying it from his outstretched hand. "Liar!" he said to Araha. "You recognized the name. You know who I'm seeking. And I will not let you doom this world!"
