  1. A cultist stabbed Mr. Amber from behind, ramming a bayonet into his lower back. Three others charged him from the front, wildly firing their guns. --------------- A heavily armored Iron Warrior stepped in front of Ski, raising his power fist in a challenge. "Let's dance, vittle one," he said.
  2. A black-armored marine stood inside the Thunderhawk's troop bay, next to the unmoving dreadnought. At least six mechanical arms sprouted from his back, poking into the dreadnought's hull and holding tools. "That depends," it said. The voice was oddly flat and mechanical. "Do you know the proper rituals to appease the machine spirit?"
  3. Sorry about the absence- let's get started. First: the two factions, and their respective strengths & weaknesses. The Black Crusade: The Death Guard: So, let's start working these ideas into a coherent narrative. Any suggestions?
  4. The Iron Warrior peered at the dragon bounding towards him. "Hmmm," he said. "Fredrik? Call Devastator Schquad Villis forvard, please?" A group of grey-armored marines stepped from behind the Vindicators, raising huge cannons to their shoulders. Laser beams lanced through the air, strong enough to punch through adamantine. Black-robed cultists fired wildly into the air, creating a veritable storm of bullets and lasfire around Mr. Amber.
  5. A shell slammed into the ground beside Tena, exploding in a storm of fire and shrapnel. -------------------- "Nice schot, Fredrik!" the Iron Warrior yelled, peering at the Waystop through his binoculars. "Now, follov it upe vis a full battery vire!" The five Vindicators* behind him fired, their guns roaring as they sent massive shells soaring towards the Waystop. *An artillery gun mounted on a tank
  6. The Thunderhawk sailed slowly towards the gates, touching down on the ground in a cloud of dust. The engines kept roaring though, and the front ramp dropped, smashing through the gates and crashing into the ground.
  7. No, it's covering the 16 year period in between the 7 day war and era 2.
  8. And I'm back. Sorry about the absence- going to sleep, combined with an all day drive, meant that I couldn't respond until now. Sure! Just be aware that they're facing millenia-old, plague-infested super warriors who can kill with a single, putrid touch Normally, the Black Crusade would be defending Newcago itself. But I really like this idea. Maybe reinforcements arrive from orbit and trap the Death Guard between them and the walls, only for more Chaos marines to show up behind the reinforcements? Depends on which war you're talking about, but yes! A basic (if not universe-relevant) summary of the Death Guard can be found here. Info will be added to the original post about our Death Guard, though. I'll need some help capturing the purple-prose aspect of the wiki, though Thanks! But this project is going to consist of more narration than character scenes, though it will have some. This is an example of what I'm going for. This is definitely something we could do.
  9. So, what ideas do people have for writing the Winter Siege? Who are the major generals involved? Should there be an epic boss battle between a daemon prince and Queen Elsa? How much is the Black Crusade going to lose before they finally win?
  10. *makes something up on the fly* Out-of-universe conversations take place normally, without comments. In-universe stuff, like recaps or character scenes, will be in italics. When we compile everything into one large document, it'll (hopefully) look something like this: https://www.fanfiction.net/s/10578370/1/The-Roboutian-Heresy
  11. Well, thanks for the post! But this isn't an RP- it's more like the Creator's Corner. Also, just... why rabbits, of all things? I'll edit some info into the main post.
  12. The Long War Welcome, all, to the Alleyverse Lore Project- a mission to fill in the gaps of the RP with written history and lore. This first project will (I hope) cover the events of the Long War, a 16+ year conflict between the Black Crusade and the forces of Chaos. The hope is that the finished work could help inspire new characters and roleplayers, giving them hooks and story ideas to carry to the rest of the Alleyverse. How differently would your Twinborn act if they had lived through the brutal Siege of Bassopolis, where the mighty Phoenix destroyed half the city battling a Helldrake? What if your Radiant was a reformed cultist, worshiping the Dark Powers before bonding a spren and escaping from the southern wasteland? What if your master swordsman had won their Shards by campaigning with the Black Crusade? Primarily, though, this project aims to produce stories and legends for the Alleyverse, through expanding every guild’s history in the 16 years of war. So, without further ado- I give you the starting point for the Long War: The Winter Siege, when the foul Death Guard battled the Black Crusade for months in the frozen streets of Newcago. Our first goal is to flesh out both armies involved in the conflict- their leaders, their history, and their culture. We’ll also determine the significance of the battle, and how it affected the balance of the Long War. No Warhammer 40k knowledge is necessary. Remember, anyone can pitch in. This is a collaborative project, after all- I’m not the insane dictator secretly ruling from the shadows. The only requirement is that we stay on topic Now- let’s do this. The Black Crusade
  13. The Shardbearer started glowing. He rolled to his feet and, a Shardblade forming in his healed arms, charged towards the prone Deras.
  14. The Thunderhawk awkwardly turned in the air, facing towards the mountain trail that led to the training grounds, and let loose with its heavy bolters. The sound of wet thuds and bursting shells echoed across the mountain. Something out of sight exploded, shaking the ground and sending human body parts flying over the edge in a massive fireball. Something shiny rode the blast wave, soaring into the sky before abruptly twisting in the air and falling towards the training grounds. The Radiant slammed into the ground, a Shardblade forming in his hands, and he charged Devaan.
  15. The Thunderhawk gunship, still idling out in front of the training grounds, suddenly roared into life as it staggered into the air. It turned towards the newcomers, blasting them with a wave of air. The nose-mounted heavy bolters swung towards the Panthers and fired, blowing a few of them into bloody chunks and spraying the ground around the rest. Shells whizzed around Devaan and Deras, barely missing.
  16. Man, those were good times. Mraize's plan:
  17. Not unless you want the Alleyverse drug police after you (And you don't want the Alleyverse drug police after you. Trust me on this.)
