  1. Honestly? It's because I'm in a little over my head with this game and the rest of my life. I just found out family is coming to visit, I have to prep for the book launch, and I'm working a ton of overtime. I'm not going to just throw myself off a cliff, but my motivation for voting Condensation was not for self-preservation.
  2. My assumption is yes. There's no indication in either section that would suggest otherwise and Straw is usually straight forward with his games. Condensation. This hedging is setting off all my alarm bells. Suggesting they might have information, but not wanting to share it seems like a pretty good way for an elim to leverage staying alive. It's especially weird that they did this after only two votes on them. Seems like new elim panic.
  3. You're pretty well safe at the moment, unless there's another last hour vote swing, which I doubt. Elandera (4): Amanuensis, Araris Valerian, TJ, Flyingbooks eltruT (2): Ashbringer, Whysper Mist (1): The Windrunner Supreme Condensation (1): eltruT TJ Shade (1): Shard of Reading
  4. Well, I'm not sure what to say to the suspicion. It's not uncommon for me to be hesitant about lynches D1 recently, especially since I've been unable to follow the threads as closely as I was about a year ago. With the little I knew about the threads D1, I didn't understand the logic behind suspicion of Elkanah. @Amanuensis @Araris Valerian I would like to refute the suggestion I said flat out the kill was denial of information and then voted based on opposite reasoning. This is what I said (bold/italic updated): I moved forward under the assumption of the second option for my suspicion and subsequent vote.
  5. I know this is a bit out of the blue, but why do you type "couch" instead of "cough"? Also, Elkanah. With votes now in full swing, I don't really want to lynch you based on how it might give us information about a few other players.
  6. Sorry, I was unclear. I meant of the whole chunk of people he mentioned regarding the vote, which would include Elkanah, Illwei, eltruT, TJ, Devotary. Two among those five is more likely, especially if the vote was an effort to save elim!Elkanah. I'm mildly suspicious of you, but starting a swing in votes late in the turn is a bold elim move. TJ's vote seemed opportunistic in timing. EltruT's vote I'm probably least suspicious of because that seemed to be their general vote pattern: vote on whomever others are voting on at the time. Devotary's vote was... Well, Devotary. Pretty NAI and common for them. Of all of them, if Elkanah turns out to be elim, I'd be most likely to look into you or TJ. I must have misread something. I thought someone else said that he'd claimed elim, and someone else corrected and said he claimed HI. I've been unable to read through the whole thread due to my schedule and not having any power at my house. But that statement still stands. Most of the earlier discussion in this cycle was theorizing why he was killed. From my view, it was not about his claim, but either for lack of information (unlikely, because as others have said, there are far more potential targets who've been quieter) or because they said something the elims didn't like or that worried them.
  7. I doubt Gears was killed because of the HI claim. If the elims hit someone who survives, it's either the HI or the Voidbringer and the village can then avoid lynching them until they know for sure which role they have. It doesn't play to their hand to accidentally attack the HI. My suspicion at the moment is that Gears was killed more for the lack of information it would provide (common strategy early in games), or for the comments he made during the night cycle about the D1 lynch swing. His posts during the day were all pretty benign and mostly consisted of not having the time to keep up with the ever-moving thread. Then at night, he posted these: ..... wait. When did they get rid of the direct post link function? How long have I been away??? Anyways, he posted a breakdown of the votes on what's now page 15 of the thread, then a follow-up breakdown of his suspicions. Gears seemed most suspicious of Elkanah, elruT, and TJ. I'm not sure I agree entirely with all of that, but it's possible there are at least two elims among the list of players he called out. Right now, I'm a little more suspicious of Illwei, as from what I remember (I haven't had the time and energy to read through the entire thread so far), they seemed to be trying to avoid any vote at all on Elkanah. All of that hinges, though, on Elkanah being elim. So, let's get voting started, shall we? Elkanah
  8. That makes a little more sense, but I don't agree. I rarely talk about suspicions on D1, as it's difficult to have actual evidence so early. The exception is when something is obviously off. Mist avoiding it isn't super suspicious, especially if they're busy.
  9. "Muster"ing up a reason doesn't sound good at all. Exhibit - B: Does not prefer Elkanah over Mist: Ok, just looked at it. This makes sense, but not enough to make me switch my vote. Im sorry I took so long to respond. Exhibit - C: Directly contradicts Exhibit - A (on the reasoning for voting on Mist) : Both of those things seem to me like attributes of a new villager trying their best to participate, but floundering a little. Especially Illwei's comment that the acting is completely different from elim!Turtle from last game. Last game, they would have had teammates to consult and give them advice. If they're village, they're on their own and relying somewhat on the opinions of others they see as more experienced. Which often leads newer players to bandwagon votes. EDIT: Posted too early, sorry. So suspicious because she did a role breakdown and has been answering questions? Lots of players do role breakdowns, which is completely NAI, especially D1. And why would answering questions be bad?
  10. Thanks! I've tracked posts that closely before as village, so that's pretty nai to me. I don't like the premise of votes on Mist or Elkanah. I'll try to get a vote on someone else at least a few hours before rollover.
  11. I'm here. Totally forgot about this game. Don't have time to read the novel's with of posts, but I'll try to catch up by tomorrow
  12. It's showing as the link and 404 error when I click it.
  13. You're somewhere around 14th on the list, so it's probably going to take until after December depending on the availability of the others.
  14. I take it this is an LG? I can add you to the spreadsheet, but just need to know the category of game.
  15. Hmm. That was phrased poorly (my initial statement, not yours). It wasn't really that it was the wrong name, but that I didn't mean to vote Matrim because of my earlier thinking. Let's see if I can recall my logic there. My options were Vapor, Mist, Mint, Kynedath, Matrim, and Sart. I knew I didn't want to vote Vapor or Kynedath. I saw the reasoning and didn't really agree. I'd just removed my vote from Mint since she'd arrived. I didn't have any strong feelings one way or the other about Mist and Sart, and hadn't remembered seeing any reasoning for either. In the moment, that left me with Matrim, but I'd forgotten earlier that I'd specifically said I didn't want to lynch someone that active (those thought processes are difficult for me to remember while I'm at work and have a lot of other things distracting me). That ended with me placing and then removing the vote. I didn't vote on anyone because someone else tied it and I didn't have any particular motivation or reason to change it. Sorry about the confusion. Again, I tend to have less logical progressions of thought while at work, and I type what comes to mind first rather than what's necessarily accurate.
  16. (Anyone else find it slightly ironic the top two candidates are Vapor and Mist?)
  17. Shoot.. I typed the wrong name! Matrim. I said specifically earlier I didn't want to lynch you because you were active. Ninja'd by Frozen. Now that there's a second two-vote candidate. I'm going to leave it as is.
  18. Panic, really. Welcome. Frozen Mint. No point in killing you now. Contribution Crusades are always a difficult topic, but when there is no real discussion happening, it's better than killing off one of the few actually talkative ones. With how much has been discussed during this cycle, a lynch on someone like Mint (especially with the immediate and strong defense after my vote), would actually tell us a lot. However, since they've arrived, I won't push the issue any further at this moment. It's just a common occurrence that explains why I'm not shy about bandwagoning a poke vote. It just wasn't my reasoning at the time, as I'm not really that suspicious of Vapor this cycle. I was more suspicious of the lurking, and still am in some ways, but I don't know Mint well enough to know if that's AI or not. Several players come to mind that were lurkers no matter which alignment they played. I believe the votes stand with Vapor in the lead (two votes), with Mint, Mist, Matrim, Sart, and Kynedath following. Let's make things interesting. Matrim.
  19. *movie trailer voice* In ancient times, before you or I were even aware of this world, there was a cause. Many took up arms to fight for this cause. They fought for activity and participation, culling the ranks of the lurkers and inactives. They came to be known as the... Contribution Crusade *Normal voice* It's because I see them lurking, yet still not posting. I'm pretty sure someone else made that observation before, though I could be wrong. I also believe in there being real consequences to poke votes. If you didn't want them lynched at all, don't vote on them at all. Too often elims will "poke vote" their allies early in a game for distancing.
  20. I'm not good at this. But I don't like the reasoning on Kynedath or Vapor. D1 is rough when it comes to finding something to say. It's almost always just trying to get other people to say something in order to get a read, or throwing out analysis of something we actually know (which is pretty much only rules on D1). Neither behavior I think is worth a D1 lynch. I'm a bit more sus of Matrim at this point, but don't really want to lynch someone who is really pushing for activity on D1. I'd almost rather go for the contribution lynch at this point (especially after last game's definite struggle with activity that killed the village at the end). Thus, Frozen Mint.
  21. Hello, hello, fine folk. Sorry it's taken me so long to check in. I've glanced at things but have been generally too busy to post or read thoroughly. Most role analysis can be somewhat indicative later if the player doing the breakdown is elim. They'll sometimes downplay the importance of some of their teammates roles. As a counterpoint, this game doesn't really have traditional roles. Kynedath's analysis to me, actually seems a little village. It directly calls out certain actions elims may use to hide behind in claiming. I wouldn't say it's enough to clear him, but it's enough for me to counter a D1 lynch attempt. @Zillah or anyone, do you have a vote count available? I'd put one down myself but I'm on mobile and that's a pain.
