Wita placed the sugar bowl on the table and added first a little cream to her tea, stired it thrice and only then added some sugar. There was no real reason to do it like that, but it had become a ritual she enjoyed. Offered some time to focus, some calm. When she finished stiring the second time she looked up at James again.

"The pleasure is mine." she inclined her head. "I have to admit, that while I have a rough concept of what Knight Radiants are, I am not too familiar with the different orders and their ideals. You'll have to forgive my lacking knowledge in that regard."

For a moment she fell silent, unwilling to start talking business yet. There was no need to rush things. Leaning back in her chair she took a first, tiny sip of her tea, enjoying its taste. Delicious. He really had a hand for these things.

"What is this place?" she finally asked, skipping around the Unmade as a topic. It could wait, at least for a little bit, it could wait.

"This is an enclave." James said, preparing his explanation, "It exists to help keep the younger generations of Radiants safe from the Voidbringers. The man in charge is Doc, a Bondsmith like myself. There are only ever 3 of us, so I came here to learn how to use my abilities." He paused for a brief moment to take a sip of his tea, "Although this started out as primarily a place for Radiants to stay, there are a few other types of Invested here at the moment, we've got an Elantrian, and a Twinborn at least, though it's been some time since I saw either of them." James took another long sip of tea, hoping the woman found it to be as good as he did. "Now, what brings a Feruchemist like yourself here? Are you seeking a form of asylum from Voidbringers? Do you have news for Doc?" He asked, hopefully not sounding as interrogative as he had previously.

Wita followed him deeper inside, sat down in the front room and waited for him to prepare their tea. It was a relief to get off her feet and sit down for a little while. The young man was nice, although she feared that he might be a little too tense. Maybe he had lived in danger too long, or maybe it was a consequence of the attack.

"Yes, please." she smiled gratefully at him. "It smells delicious." She had expected them to have some tea, but to get a good cup of tea was a lot more than she had wished for.

Smiling at him she took the cup and set it down in front of her. "Tell me a little about yourself." She asked and lifted the cup to her face, inhaling deeply. Even better than she had thought.

James offered her a pitcher of cream, and a sugar bowl. "I hope you enjoy it", he said, "Only a few of my housemates are much for tea, so I don't often get a chance to bust out the tea set." James sat down opposite from her, and mirrored her prior action, lifting the cup to his face, and taking in the refreshing scent. "As I believe I've already said, I'm James Freeman." He replied to her question,  "But more to the point of what you're asking, I'm a Knight Radiant. More specifically a Bondsmith of the 4th Ideal. Pleasure to meet you."

Wita gratefully inclined her head and walked past him, stepping inside of the house. Several pair of shoes were standing next to the door, as well as a bunch of jackets, different styles and sizes. There had to be a lot of people living here, younger ones judging by their awful sense of style.

"Thank you, James." She stepped to the side, made sure she didn't intrude too far. This was their place and she disliked to disrespect the privacy of others. Everybody had borders and she hated it when strangers ignored hers.

"I'm a Feruchemist." She told him with a warm smile, not mentioning what she had learned from Marcel. Somehow she doubted that he would like the idea of magical seals fueld by blood. Glancing down at her wrist she checked her watch and nodded more to herself. One thing after the other. Give him a chance to ask some questions first, then she could try to figure out how to help and who they were in the first place. "Why don't we discuss the rest over a nice cup of tea? Can't let tea time pass without one, can we?"

James smiled, and let her in. "Of course." He said, responding to her request for tea, "I'll go put a kettle on right now." He walked over to the cupboard, and grabbed a kettle. filling it up with warm water, he set it on the stove. Feruchemy? he thought, contemplatively, I think Jamie had that power- but she had another one as well. Continuing his thinking, he grabbed several mugs, and some mint tea he'd mixed himself upon arriving in the Northwest- after all, nowhere else in the states could match northwestern peppermint.

After the tea was prepared, he went back to the front room, where the woman, Wita, was sitting. He offered her a cup of tea, "Would you like any cream or sugar?" he asked, doing his best to make up for his somewhat rude behavior earlier.

Doc. So the man's name was Doc. Wita gently reached out for the bracelet, tapped a little, closed her eyes and then opened again.

His voice had gone cold, as had his eyes, but his body, the way he reached into his pocket spoke of a defensive reaction not an offensive one.
The lawn wasn't immaculate, the grass torn in places, a few dark spots in between as if a part of it had been burnt away. They had fought and not too long ago.
The house was in good shape. Whoever, whatever had attacked them hadn't been able to breach their defenses.
He wouldn't discuss this with her, his voice was too firm, his stance too tight.

She stopped tapping and sighed. "What harm do you think an old woman like me could do?" she inquired gently. "There is no need to worry young man, I don't plan to harm you, or yours. In contrast, I am here to help you. I travelled as quickly as I could once I heard of the attack." Because it was her fault. Her mistake that this creature ran free. If they had been able to stop them earlier, if they had been quicker in their decision making - but they hadn't and over the years she'd come to the conclusion that there hadn't been enough clues, that there had been no way for them to stop the process after the ritual had been started. But then, you never knew. Fact was, they had failed and if she could do something, bring her skills to good use, then she would.

    @AonEne

There was something decidedly trustworthy about this woman, James decided. Did she say attack? He thought, She must be another invested. He let his defensive stance drop, and the cold glint left his eyes. "Apologies ma'am" He said, with a short bow, "I couldn't just let you in, without knowing who you were, and whether or not I'd be risking my friends' lives by doing so." he explained.

He gestured for the woman to come inside. "If you don't mind saying, What kind of investiture do you use?" James asked, now genuinely curious rather than probing.

"I am called Wita Moreau." she smiled at the young boy who'd stopped short at the sight of her. Pushing against her walking stick she tried to stand up a little straighter despite the pain in her back, looked at him calmly. She had surprised him, and he had stopped himself from spilling any secrets, obviously changing what he had been about to say. Looking him up and down she smiled at him politely. His clothing was in order and he obviously was used to greet strangers at the door, welcoming them. She suppressed the urge to brush her fingertips over her bracelet, the new one she had bought after leaving her old one with Lewis. It had been neccessary to make a break and to go on.

"Who is in charge of this-" she paused, unwilling to reveal how much she knew about them, about the whole situation in general. "place." she finished, choosing a more or less neutral word. That was better than to reveal her hand to early. "Are they available to speak to me?"

"I assume you mean the owner of this property" James replied, a cold glint in his eyes. He wasn't about to let people get hurt, and without thinking, his hand moved towards his pocket, fingers brushing on the pen that became that pitch black sword. If this woman was a Voidbringer, or one of their ilk, then everyone here could be in serious danger. "I'll let you in, but only if you first tell me exactly what your relationship to Doc is, and what you intend here." He said, firmly "I'm afraid I can't just invite you in and brew you a cup of tea, if you take my meaning."

I'll make one, I just want to double check, your a theorizer right?

No, not really. I've just interacted on pretty much every board on the Shard, including the theory ones

Also, that would technically be "You're" as opposed to "Your"

Her stick touched the ground with a sharp, hard clicking sound whenever she took a step. Her steps were slow, her face wrinkeled, her white hair braided back into a thin white line reaching her back. Unhurriedly she took her time to look around, smiling at whoever she passed. She wore a long dark skirt, its rim showing signs of long wear and a shawl covered her shoulders over the grey blouse. Her bag, too, was made of a dark fabric, leaving the only bright spot a ring she wore around her neck.

The woman neared the house after a look at its number, again taking her time to look up, take in its height and the windows. Lifting a hand she knocked surprisingly strong, for someone as old as she appeared to be, the sound echoing through the house behind

James was broken out of his contemplation by a sharp knock to the front door. "Odds are, it's yet another Radiant" he said with a wry smile. "Perhaps you and I should start an enclave Nightwatcher." He commented, feeling somewhat bemused "Perhaps Doc's sudden influx of new tenants is due in part to double the Bondsmith power residing here." The Nightwatcher sighed with the sort of exasperated care of a worn down teacher. James opened the door, his best smile of greeting beaming from his face. "Hello, My name is James Freeman. How can I help you?" He stopped short of announcing himself as a Bondsmith when he noticed who was at the door. It wasn't some young adult, or Radiant teenager. This was an elderly woman who looked to be in her mid 70's. "And who might you be?" he asked, a measure of guardedness finding its way into his tone.

So I was wondering if I should get this game. I know people who are on here would be really biased but once I finish my windwaker play through I want another game to play and was wondering if this is a good game. (Also how would you describe the gameplay?)

Hollow Knight is like the textbook definition of a classic Metroidvania. If you're looking for a game with great environmental storytelling, some genuinely challenging platforming, and hundreds of hours of content, I would say that this is a game for you.

Someone mentioned an Assassin + Seal Strength + Break Shot + Poison Strike (from the Dark Mage class) build for Ignatz, and now I really want to try it. Fortunately, my next playthrough will be Golden Deer (I'll either romance Shamir or Marianne...most likely, I'll create a copy of the save file so I can do both), so it'll be easy to try out.

Yeah, unless you really want the extra range afforded by the archer class line, it might be worth it to make him an assassin. I'm liking the sound of the skill build though. Seems unique. Currently I'm going through Black Eagles, and I'm going for a Falcon Knight Vengeance Battalion Wrath Bernadetta, with other things thrown in once I figure out what's feasible
