Like clockwork, everybody resumed their current roles when the person who’d broken through the door left. Rob watched from the railing as James fixed the door, the pieces magically assembling themselves into place. Rob didn’t find himself as excited as he’d usually be. Instead the new ability was simply a fact of life, a stage in the never-ending loop that was the war.

They all organised into pairs. Shana with a newcomer, and Cassie with another one. Only James remained, though he went to his room soon after. Hesitating for a moment, Rob followed him. When he approached James’ room he knocked once on the door, hoped it could be heard.

    “James?”

James was brought back from his near trancelike state by the sound of Rob knocking on his door, "Just a sec!" he called out, as he stood up from his desk, and tucked his chair in. He walked to the door and opened it, somewhat tentatively. "Hey Rob, what can I do for you?" he asked, genuinely curious. The stoic boy had never come to him for emotional support in the same way Shana had, nor were they particularly close friends, like he was with Cassie and Ben.

  2. James remained undeterred by the arrival of the newcomer. What exactly had he just done? He'd always figured Bondsmiths must be weird, after all, there were only ever three of them. James stood up, pushing his questions to the back of his mind for now. He had other roles to fulfill, the roles of whatever it was he was becoming. I think I understand he thought, I think I know why it is I was supposed to come here. I always just thought it was redundant that there were two Bondsmiths running one enclave. James walked out of the noisy entryway, and headed to his room. He needed the quiet for a bit. Doc can't be around forever, nor can this house feasibly fit many more people. I need to become a leader. I need to figure out my powers.

James sat at his desk, and pulled out a notepad, and began to write:

    Bondsmith Abilities:

Reuniting?: The shards of the door were able to be repaired and brought back into a whole thanks to the use of Light, and some physical maneuvering. I wonder if this could possibly be related to the Spiritual Realm the Nightwatcher told me about. I think this might be possible on a grander scale as well. I'll need to conduct some tests....

James continued to write, feverishly, a man possessed by a singular purpose, a man who sought pure knowledge and understanding. I can't shake this feeling in my gut that something bad is coming. I need to be prepared he thought grimly, as he continued his work.

Any opinions on how this would 1) fare as family viewing and 2) whether a 9-year-old could watch it?

Honestly it depends on how spook-tolerant your kid is. I watched it with my family, and everyone fared fairly well. In terms of other stuff, if you'd watch a Marvel movie as a family, I think it would be fine.

"Ho-ly crap," Cassie breathed, staring at the door. "James, what the hell was that?"

    No offense taken, my friend.

James looked at Cassie, slightly shocked by the girl cursing. "I don't know." He said, quite honestly. "It was like the voice of the door called out to me, helped me Connect it again. It was like I was using both of my Surges together." He said, attempting to explain the situation without sounding like he'd gone mad. hearing the voice of someone who wasn't his spren? surefire way to sound like he'd lost a few marbles. "Has Doc ever experienced anything like that?" He asked her.

  5. James watched as the newcomer, whose name he'd never learned bolted out the door, running into the street. "Not the smartest way to introduce yourself, banging down a door.", James noted, one eyebrow raised in visible annoyance. Suddenly James felt something, a tugging on his soul coming from the general direction of the shattered doorframe, and he heard a faint voice in his mind. We are a door the scattered bits of wood cried out, Unite Us!

James nodded, and walked forward kneeling by the shattered doorframe, the brisk spring breeze chilling his fingers. "Everyone, please stand back." he said, mustering his best commanding tone. He let Light flood his body and enter his fingertips, as he grasped the largest remaining chunk of the door. He concentrated on the door as it once was, its ideal state, and the splinters' Connections to each other. Suddenly the splinters began to float into the air, returning to their original positions in the door like pieces of a jigsaw fitting together again. The voices in his mind, quite different from the Nightwatcher's, urged him onward, He lifted the large chunk, several beads of sweat running from his brow. Unite Us! the splinters' chorus rising in volume and intensity. With one last massive effort the pieces fit together, as light glowed along the cracks. The light faded, leaving no trace of the broken door, for what stood there showed no sign of damage. James' eyes widened in disbelief It worked! he thought triumphantly, as he turned back to the others, beaming.

It's really good. Have you seen her singing it on the The First Take channel? If not I really recommend it, it always strikes different to see an artist actually end up crying while singing. On that note, I should really continue watching KnY.

Oh my gosh, yes. I loved that version of both Homura, and the one they didi of Gurenge.

I'm happy to!  I was kind of annoyed when I went looking for Cosmere animatics and only found a handful.  I know I'm not on par with other content creators, but I really enjoy doodling to the music.  :)

quite honestly, I think that's the most important thing, to have fun creating something to add to the fandom

  8. James rubbed his temples, blinking groggily as he stood up. Well that had been a decidedly strange experience, no two ways about it. That sea of beads, that strangely cold sun. Somehow, he knew it would be called Shadesmar, the realm of the mind. Indeed the Nightwatcher said, Realm of all minds, and home to many of my kin. James nodded, pondering the fact, and more strangely how he had known it. Did he have some connection to that place? His powers didn't allow him to enter that place like Cassie and some of the others could, but perhaps his powers were tied to it as well. "Nightwatcher," he whispered as he balanced himself against a small table in the hallway- only peripherally aware of the confrontation with the newcomer. "What was the other light I saw as I fell into Shadesmar? It felt so warm, and pure."

The Spiritual Realm the Nightwatcher said, with an air of reverence that was distinctly unlike her usual colloquial demeanor. James cocked his head to the side, intrigued, although to all who may have seen it, it probably appeared more like a failed attempt to crack his neck. The Spiritual Realm, the Nightwatcher began to explain, Is the home of power, of Investiture, and Connection. Those things that connect you to all the things that were, are, and are yet to be. It is the Realm of the Soul, of the ideal.

James looked down at his hand, feeling an odd twitch in it, like maybe, if he reached hard enough, he could touch that place and its Light again. There's so much I don't understand about my powers he thought, Who knows where their limits truly lie?

Okay, now I'm not trying to say anything, I'm just making observations here.

There's a guy with a vendetta and depression, both stemming from the death of his little brother, who was a ray-of-sunshine precious cinnamon roll boi. He's got glowing eyes and blue gravity magic and a background in the sciences.

He's also in the military, and dang good at what he does. He's physically fit and wields a glowing spear. He doesn't really wear armor, but when he does I'm sure he's quite intimidating.

    Kala-sans?

    More likely than you think.

Lissa gave him an apologetic smile. "Still, I'm sorry about that James."

Now's a good time- How about you actually ask what this place is?

"Actually, mind if I ask a few questions? Fib led me here, but I still don't know exactly what this place is, or why I'm here."

Now that she looked around, she couldn't find them. Where had Fib gone...?

"This place might be something akin to a sanctuary" James said, giving a broad gesture to the house and its grounds. "Doc, the man in charge, and one of the other Bondsmiths, takes in young Knights Radiant, so we have a safe space to grow and master our powers." He began walking deeper into the house, and gestured for Lissa to follow him. "I assume that's why your Spren lead you here, just as the rest of ours did."

  11. Just now, Ookla the Stick said:

Does that mean there isn't anyone else like me here...? No, they're still Radiants. Just different kinds.

"I see... Well, the same to you, John!"

    She paused, hesitating.

"... Wait no, Jamie right? Or was it Jimmy?"

The Nightwatcher burst into laughter as James chuckled wryly, "It's James." He clarified, "Don't worry about it, we're all bad with names at one point or another."

She looked to the new guy, and waved back, a small grin on her face.

So many- They're all Radiants? I'll need to learn whatever the heck all these words are.

"Hello! Nice to meet you too, James. I'm Lissa, Lightweaver of... I think the second Ideal? Something like that."

"It's my pleasure." He responded, already feeling at ease around the newcomer, "Can't say I've had many chances to interact with Lightweavers, the only one we had is now married and out of the house." He offered his hand, so the new girl could shake it. "I look forward to getting to know you, Lissa."

Hey I'll join as an Amberite bond will edit the sheet in in a second

Name: Romero Actinciono (this is a pretty standard Brazilian name)

    Investiture: Amberit bond

Backstory: Romero was born to two Brazilian immigrants and is a bilingual (fun fact that I'm stealing from a Brazilian friend of mine, he speaks Brazilian with an American accent). He was raised on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and when he got older he went on to learn several other martial arts. He got his Amberite bond from his mother's side of the family.

Personality: He's a bit if a joker, but he can get quite serious at times.

Pardon my asking but what's an amberite?

  14. James overheard something of the commotion near the entryway, and arose from his stupor. "The new ones keep coming, and they don't stop coming" he said, speaking to no one in particular. He walked into the entryway, where Ed and Nym were greeting the new girl. Judging by the Cryptic, it would seem we've got a Lightweaver on our hands he thought, as he raised his hand in a static wave "Hey there, nice to meet you!" he said, enthusiastically, "Name's James Freeman, Bondsmith of the Fourth Ideal. Welcome to our humble abode"
