None of the Shards are good or evil. Everything must be cultivated because that is what she is. She's not a gardener, though she's closer to that then a nature God.

Cultivation embodies all aspects of Cultivation. The manipulation of nature. The planning. The focus on making the things you want flourish and snuff in out the things you don't.

I've said it multiple other places, but natural growth is not cultivated. A park is cultivated. A garden is cultivated. A plan or knowledge or skill can be cultivated.

Cultivation will be absolutely ruthless though. Cultivation as a concept is completely about bringing what you wish to fruition and the absolute removal of everything that you don't.

The idea of Cultivation as a purely positive force is fundamentally flawed

I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. Cultivation is primarily about getting what you want, and doing anything to achieve that. You cut down what you don't want, and favor what you do want. It is incredibly selfish, Cultivation is going after her own desires and what she wants for Roshar.

I don't have a smartphone either, so the school computers were pretty much my only connection to the Shard during school hours. I haven't been on the Shard in a few weeks because now I don't have any way to not so stealthily sneak into the computer lab and log into my account. I've tried Incognito also, and the school blocked me in that too. They're very concerned when it comes to me finding a way to gain access to a website about fantasy books (Personally, I think the evil librarians who roam the library have something to do with it. They know I've read Alcatraz's books and I know their secrets ).

Uh, would now be the proper time to say that I am in fact, employed by a library? (Although I do primarily use it as an outlet to convert others to the cosmere)

  3. Don't know whether this is considered necroposting...

But, Oh my goodness do I love Bionicle! Only really got into it around it's first ending, but took a deep dive into G1's lore and set collecting around 2011. Bionicle really cemented my love of storytelling, and really proved that unusual combinations can really work at times (I mean, Tribal robots? that's not a combination you see everyday!)

Favorite Toa has got to be Lewa, and favorite mask has got to be the Kakama. I actually still MOC to this day, might post some here if I can figure out where to put them...

Also, The Soundtracks for the first 3 films can be bought or streamed on any digital music service.

  4. Well, hello there!

After 3 years immersed in the cosmere, I've finally commited to making this account. (Due thanks to @Firerust for inspiring me to action)

    A few things about myself:

    • My first Sanderson book was TWOK, so Stormlight is my favorite series.
    • Based on the myriad of online personality quizzes I've taken, I am a Lightweaver by nature.
    • I like making puns... lots of them
    • I am an avid player of Nintendo games, mostly Zelda.
    • Outside of reading and Nintendo, I consider myself a proud Lego Geek.
    • Not unlike Elend Venture, I am never without a book, and love discussing philosophy.

That's all for the time being, hoping to enjoy my time here. May the WoB's be ever in your favor.- Wyndlerunner
