main plot The Metamorphosis: Rise of Villainry
I think I am here. replied to Lord Meeker's topic in The Alleyverse
Max took a deep breath and stepped forward. He was slightly shaking. "We had Copperclouds stationed around the building," he said slowly. A lie, but hopefully Solace's distress wouldn't allow him to see that. "Their Allomancy prevented you from sensing her." He took another step forward. Solace had said he would kill Max. But if the weakness was really activated, could he? "You did this," he said with a firmer voice, and an accusatory tone. Perhaps he could make Solace crack under the pressure. "If you hadn't tried protecting her, if you'd just let her fall, then we wouldn't be in this situation. If you hadn't let your darkness consume you, the love of your life wouldn't have strangulated in front of your eyes. So don't say it was my fault, or Althea's, or even that Toa kid's, because it's not, it's yours. You are the cause of this." He took a third step and rested a hand on Solace's shoulder. "Fight it." He said. "The darkness, the fear that whoever you protect only gets killed. You've seen it. You tried to protect her, and so she had to endure a slow, painful suffocation instead for a quick fall. Your greatest fear is coming to life. Now don't let it take over. It's the only way." Immediately he began furiously Rioting Solace, enhancing it to extremes with Nicrosilminds. He Rioted bravery, courage, fearlessness.- 571 replies

main plot The Metamorphosis: Rise of Villainry
I think I am here. replied to Lord Meeker's topic in The Alleyverse
Max heard a small sound to his side, and turned. Althea was brushing her fingers over his arm. He smiled, and looked forwards again. He stilled, unsure what to say, just letting it continue, the comfort. This would be the only time they would have together until Solace came. Then, their future would all rely on whether they got the weakness right. But they had this moment, and Max let it happen, enjoying it. A cry sounded from below and Max looked down, seeing Solace rush over the fallen body of the woman. He demanded how they'd brought her here, he'd claimed he'd removed her memory, he appeared distressed and angry. But one thing stood out, one thing that, if anything, might have implied they were correct. He brought out his revolvers, he said to Althea, a whisper. All of his time facing us and being an epic, he's never brought out his revolvers. And why would he need to? He has immense power. But, if he's doing it now... Activating Aons around his body, Max stepped off the building and flared his durability Aons, plummeting and making a dent in the pavement, standing up unscathed. All he had to do was not hit his head, he no longer had the helm for that. Raising a hand he enveloped Solace and him in a forcefield, so that none of Solace's forces could intervene. And if they'd really activated Solace's weakness, he wouldn't be able to escape. "Solace," he said, stepping forward, looking to the body of the woman. "You caused her death. How do you feel?"- 571 replies

Piling a few more bones in a pit, Alask heard Lena and turned around. She had something? Walking towards her, he tapped Nekorb on the shoulder on his way - apparently she had something for him, too. "Hey," he said, finally arriving. "What do you have?" @Sorana @xinoehp512

Crackpot Theories (A game)
I think I am here. replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
PROOF: He was acting erratically before his death, and he was known to be rather strong willed. Clearly the Kandra couldn’t torture enough secrets out of him, which caused the copy to act erratically and follow ‘the codes”, essentially the Rosharan version of the Contract. Some things can’t be helped, I guess. THEORY: All Shades really want is hugs. -
Interesting distinction here, the WoB you have says that Hoid has more unkeyed metalminds, which are very different from unsealed metalminds. Unkeyed metalminds are metalminds that anyone can access as long as they are a Ferring of that metal. The person doesn’t matter, the power does. An example of this is the gold band Wax finds, and that Wayne can use. Unsealed metalminds are metalminds that anyone can use, regardless of identity or Investiture. This is, for example, the Coppermind Wax gets at the end of BoM. So, when Brandon confirms that Hoid has unkeyed metalminds, that’s interesting, because unkeyed metalminds would only be useful if you already were a Ferring of that particular metal. Does this imply Hoid has Feruchemy? Maybe.

[OB] Ba-Ado-Mishram and Melishi's Strike Force
I think I am here. replied to ccstat's topic in Stormlight Archive
Perhaps it has something to do with the Truthwatcher qualities “Learned and Giving” as you put it. We know according to Hessi that Ba-Ado-Mishram was said to be “keen of mind”, “a highprincess” among the enemy and apparently their commander. To me this speaks a high level of intelligence that may exceed other Unmade. Starting off topic for a second, there was a theory that the Unmade with hyphens in their name are more intelligent than those that don’t (Re-Shephir and Sja-Anat being more intelligent than Neragoul and Ashertman, who seem more like the embodiment of forces (the Thrill, indulgence etc.)) Following this theory, it’s possible Ba-Ado-Mishram was extremely intelligent, even among the Unmade. This Intelligence seems to fit with the logical Truthwatcher attribute of “Learned”. The other attribute “giving”, seems to fit even better, since Ba-Ado-Mishram is a giver of voidlight among the Parshmen. So it’s apparent that she is also Learned and Giving just like the Truthwatchers, but in similar fashion to Re-Shephir’s ‘creation and curiosity” to Shallan’s, the values are wrong and twisted. Just as the Truthwatcher’s give knowledge and Progression, Ba-Ado-Mishram does the same, spreading knowledge of tactics and giving Voidlight to the Parshmen. Maybe Ba-Ado could identify with a quality in these Truthwatcher’s (in similar vein to Re-Shephir identifying with Shallan’s creations and curiosity). Maybe what draws Ba-Ado in, attracts it in is this “giving” quality? When someone wants to spread their knowledge, spread their power around to everyone (Progression) for the greater good, maybe Ba-Ado can identify with that. Maybe this giving quality of her’s could be because Odium “gave” her the most? As in most Intelligence, most power (if she can single-handedly Power the Parsh’s forms of power). -

Um, Actually... (a game)
I think I am here. replied to Darkwalker's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
Um, actually, Nightblood was Awakened by Shashara. Denth didn’t believe Vasher beat Yesteel in a fair fight. -
The Barman slowly raised his hand. Another man had come, and of course, he’d come with a companion as well. Couples. “I’m not a waiter,” he said, for the first time in the day not mumbling. “But I’m the Barman, if you want to take an order.”
-
The Barman sighed. All this fighting. Just because of the date. Because of the couple. Obviously. But the bar was the only thing he had left, and he wouldn't let it get destroyed just because a couple attracted a serial killer Waiter to the restaurant. Putting the drinks back in their cabinet and locking them, the Barman began closing down the bar. But maybe he could still do something? Maybe if he offered everyone free drinks, they would stop fighting? The Barman looked up. Nah. Closing down the last cabinets, the Barman sat on a stool and sipped his own drink again, watching the fight.

As the poisons activated, the woman began asphyxiating, her lungs not being able to able to intake any oxygen. She began suffocating, and in a matter of minutes, she was dead. @Ookla the Meeker- 571 replies

Alask silently gathered the oddly shaped bones and put them away. He overheard what Aeodin was saying, but kept silent. Who was he to speak up about innocence? He had a Shade attached to his soul. The Shade, Alask felt it in his spikes again, rumbling. But it's rumbling was subdued, for some reason. Was it... pouting? Ever since the Alleyzon heist, Alask was getting a better sense for his Shade's emotions. It seemed like it was pouting. Did the incident with Nekorb sadden you? Alask thought to it. Two pulses of emotion indicated a affirmative response. Collecting more bones, Alask thought about what say. Look, he said. We really need to talk about when it's convenient for you to take control. The Shade just growled in response, but Alask continued. Honestly, if you keep acting up at every time someone lights a candle you're going to end up with more dead bodies than you can count. Something about the Shade's response growl told it didn't have the same hesitance to death as Alask had. ~~~ The Shade growled. It wasn't angry or enraged, not anymore. Now, it simply lay dormant inside its host's body, living in the flesh that made its prison. The host continued talking to it, communicating to it through thoughts. The Shade couldn't completely understand what was being said, but it could understand some things. Emotions. Words. Deal? While the host had probably asked a longer question, only the basest of words came through for the Shade to understand. Following the pattern the host had thought up, it hummed instead of growled, pronouncing its confusion. A deal? Even the fact that it could understand a deal surprised it. It hadn't been this smart when it had been on Threnody, it had been an animal. It was still an animal now, it didn't forget that. If anyone broke the Rules, it's rage would be a force to be reckoned with, but it felt smarter, more intelligent. Perhaps the theory of it Bonding to Alask, like a spren, wasn't crazy after all.

Max let go and saw as the woman hung in place. Solace. He was protecting her from the fall. Max wanted to smile. He’d fallen for the bait. But he only frowned, and closed his eyes. He knew what was to come next. Now was the time. "Toa," he said. "Activate the poison." @Ookla the Meeker @BooksBeforeDeath- 571 replies

The Barman quietly poured himself a drink at the bar, mumbling. Storming couples. Always ruining everything. Well, that was the easiest explanation. Pouring a alcoholic combination for himself that mixed the strongest beverages from each planet, he smiled at his own creation. The only reason he'd even become a Barman was so he could have drinks like these and not pay for them. Taking a sip, the Barman sighed. Still not alcoholic enough, not to forget.

Max looked back, and then ahead, nodding. "Good luck," he said, stepping onto the metallic roof of the building. A breeze rushed past his face as he continued to march across the top of the building, eyeing the large drop below. Along the street, Solace's forces swarmed. And in their centre, Solace himself. Max approached the edge and looked down. Picking up the woman, he hung her over the edge. His heartbeat was racing. This was the wrap-up, the homestretch, the grand finale. It was now or never. "Solace!" He called from on top of the skyscraper, holding the woman over the edge of the building. As she began to retain conciousness, she immediately tried to squirm out of his grip, but he held it. She didn't deserve this. She was an innocent. But if all went well, Solace would save her. As he held her over the edge of the building, he called to Solace again, Rioting his care, Rioting his selflessness, Rioting his compassion. This is why he'd been storing since Oasis. Rioting all the positive emotions in Solace with his enhanced zinc, Rioting his love for his girlfriend, he also began Rioting the woman's distress, her fear. She began yelling, and then crying. Hopefully this would compel Solace to save her. Max continued, turning the woman's face to Solace and making sure he could see her. Staring back at him would be a perfect replica of his love all those years ago. Same hair, same face, same clothes, save build. An exact copy. "Look who we have here," Max said. "The love of your life. The one you couldn't save before." The woman began whispering to Max again. @Ookla the Meeker "Please don't drop me," she whispered though tears. Max ignored her. All of this distress was just because of his Rioting. Right? "You couldn't save her before, Solace!" Max said, amping up his Rioting to as powerful as he could go, as much as he could manage. "Can you save her now?" He dropped the woman, and struggled not to cover his ears against her screams.- 571 replies

“A twinborn?” Max said. Solace wasn’t here yet, but thankfully the woman was still out cold. “That’s cool. Say, do you think you could put us in a Cadmium bubble until Solace arrives? It might take a while if we judge how long it’s taken already.” @Ookla the Meeker- 571 replies

No, you can make a character and introduce them in threads at any time. The end of the Era and the start of the next one (which is planned to be New Years I think) will provide a more specific 'jumping in point', but there's nothing stopping you from introducing them now so that we all know who they are in the next Era.

Alask turned back as Laonin talked about respecting the enemies. Such a contrast to what the essence mark turned him into. "That makes sense," Alask said, checking the pockets of a group of corpses. "But some of these enemies are just piles of bones. How exactly do we respect them?" He watched how Laonin changed his staff to an axe and a shovel and began to dig. Alask didn't have any digging tools of his own, so he continued to check the bodies, organising them next to the pit Laonin was digging.
-
Alask finally arrived at the Forge, debris of their fight crowding the usual path. When he finally arrived to the building he saw Laonin sitting up. Still a but hesitant to approach in case the essence mark of the electric guy hadn't worn off, he stayed a at a distance and waved. "Hey, boss," he said, then paused. Stop talking like a thief. "I mean: hey, sir." He looked back at the shipping container, which seemed remarkably intact. "You sent me to get building supplies at a low cost, and I did! Behold a massive Alleyzon shipping container of stuff, free of cost. That should be able to give us enough materials for a long while."
