  1. Who do you think saved his life?
  2. What if each Hoid we've seen is actually a different one, and combining them all (they are splinters) makes... Hoidium
  3. Hey Brandon, its really great that you're doing this and I've just got one question: Are any of your book's locations (barring legion) based on real-life places? If so, where? If not, what propels your creative drive to make new worlds? Thanks loads for answering
  4. They'd still need some sort of air to stop you from imploding or your blood from boiling, though.
  5. From what I've heard of the Sunmaker so far I can imagine him as the sort of person who would change the religion to suit his needs, regardless of their truth. Still, its very early on for speculation so I can't know for sure.
  6. What do you think would have the power to contest with that of a shard, lightflame? Maybe the cognitive and spiritual realm have some other great powers?
  7. how to crush the earth? iron compounding
  8. He states that the shardplate interferes with his lashings, which is theorised to be because it is so highly invested in power by honor. And for your future reference, its the Shin
  9. I'd be interested to see a Miles equivalent compounder for something other than gold or atium. A pewter or steel compounder would be ridiculously overpowered in combat, though it might be annoying literally crushing everything you ever try to grasp.
  10. I can't get Storm-O's out of my head...
  11. You probably would if you were a thousand years old
  12. Great, it might take some time because I need to plot it in my mind before I write it, but it'll be right here in the general theories section and I'll edit this post to add a link when I'm done
  13. He's said to have "stopped feeling pain long ago". I'm guessing that just means he got used to it after 'dying' so many times.
  14. Hey Kurk, I hope you haven't already wrote about it but do I have permission to write a sort of extension theory on some of the stuff already in this theory? Crediting relevant parts to you, of course.
  15. Whats that flying towards me?

  16. You might always be either filling or tapping, but you couldn't possible always be tapping feruchemical reserves because you'd need to fill them up in the first place.
  17. We can see that not everyone in the Stormlight Archive is a windrunner like Kaladin and Szeth. That would imply that each order of the Knight's Radiant had some sort of inborn power involved. Shardplate in the modern day is such that anyone can wear it with no change in power, but what if the old radiants who were in the order that used Shardplate were the only ones that could make it glow, and therefore it was more powerful in their hands than the common man? Hope that makes sense.
  18. gluespren - bindspren that sold their souls to the pritt-stick corporation
  19. Just a suggestion, in a lot of places the Stormlight Archive is too early on for my indecisive mind to make a solid decision
  20. I'd go with her over Ellen Page. A lot of people like her, but I think her face is a bit too cheerful for Vin, she doesn't really look like a hardened street urchin/
  21. I'm inclined to agree with Kurkistan's realmatic theory, which states that the spiritual realm is the source of all motion (or some other word like that) in the cosmere. In layman's terms I would say the stormlight is the fuel, but in more complex terms it is actually used by surgebinders to give them a measure of control over energy in the spiritual realm. EDIT: You know how enzymes work? They are made in a shape to fit around certain cells or substances in you body to perform a function. I'm guessing spren are sort of like the enzyme for spiritual energy, and stormlight is the physical manifestation of that energy.
  22. I'd put preferences down to what you're looking for in a BS book - the event, or the background. Personally I like both.
  23. Haha I totally agree about Kaladin's chapters being the best, the first time I read the Way of Kings I was literally skipping pages just to get to his chapters. Later on, when I got to learn a bit about Roshar and its history I got interested in Shallan's chapters and the interludes. Glad to find someone like me
  24. Nice theory, but I wouldn't think that Odium, the most powerful of the sixteen, could be bound in any way by Honor's rules. I also wouldn't say the largest battle of the cosmere so far was a contest as such. Still, its good to see new idea even if I think its questionable
  25. I think we can say he is a coward, but not in the usual sense.
