  1. Brandon mentioned that the whole "All in or all out" thing depended in part on the cognitive aspect of the objects. Could this be the reason for the size-limit? Your cognitive aspect? There might be a way to mess with this to expand the bubble to rediculous sizes.
  2. Ah yes, I should add that to the OP. The quote heavily implies that Honorspren aren't th eonly things that bond, though they are a lot pickier with their targets. EDIT: Totally missed it! It also means that Surgebinding doesn't have to come from an Honorspren. That could be bad. Really bad.
  3. I meant instead of Surgebinding he should put Soulcasting.
  4. Alright, Brandon's latest Q&A gave us some pretty impressive heaps of information. There was one in particular (my question of course ) that stood out to me. The smoke-like spren, mostly ignored due to their placing in the book, apparently form a bond with the Greatshells, allowing them to grow to their massive sizes without needing an exoskeleton. This is the third instance we've seen of Spren forming a bond, and I odn't think its a coincidence. All spren form bonds. All of them. Not just Honorspren. We've had it confirmed that spren are both Honor and Cultivation, and bonds fit righ tin with it. They bring things together, forming connections and bonds. This is essentially what honor does. On the other hand, it's a symbiotic relationship, helping both the spren and the human grow, which is a major element of cultivation. In Kaladin we see Syl gaining intelligence, and in return giving Kaladin Windrunning. Shallan gains Soulcasting from the Truthspren, and they gain something in return. And now we have greatshells, the single most powerful source of gemhearts, and it just so happens they have a bond with spren. I don't think it's a coincidence. So, discuss. What other spren do, what Truthspren get from Shallan, all that wonderful stuff. (I'm also baking brownies for all who espouse the theory, just so you know )
  5. Beaten to the punch. To reiterate, you probably mean Soulcasting, which I'd take gladly.
  6. Odium is the troll, and Bavadin, Glumness, and Despair all hate Hoid for intruding in their Shardworlds and eating their porridge. Oh, Hoid.
  7. I'm debating how life started for their world ATM, but as of now they have, for lack of a better example, Shard-like powers. They can't mess with the world so long as the other is there for fear the other will change something too, so they kill each other every day, preventing opposing change. Very rarely in the world's history has one God killed the other successfully, and the consequences were rediculous. And so the two fight and kill one another endlessly while the rest of the world goes about its business. Baydran isn't the only one who's cracked over the years, though his version of insanity is the most amusing.
  8. Could "The Storm Responds" be a metaphor? Maybe its one of the Windrunners using Stormlight.
  9. I would like to announce my discovery of the Almighty's nature as a goat.
  10. It my also be entirely possible that these goats are the source of the Cosmere-war. It's goat vs llama, the war to end all cheeze-its. This post is really just here because I can't delete it...
  11. So there I was, petting goats while they crapped all over the place, when I saw it. The goat's eye, the pupil. It gave me a wonderful idea. The Almighty, the god of Roshar, is a goat. Think about it. The Almighty's symbol is the double eye, which is pretty much a sideways goat pupil. I imagine historians got it wrong somehow. Furthermore, we hear Lightsong mention a Drunk Monkey in charge of everything. Knowing the Almighty to be a goat, this animal comparison cannot be a coincidence! Endowment is a monkey! But that's beside the point. Brandon has hidden this fact from us in order to stop us from making the final connection! The three Shards(Honor, Cultivation, ???) lived happily in the halls before moving to Roshar. The Nasty Troll (Odium) got mad at them for indecisiveness as they crossed the bridge, and killed all of them! This is the truth behind the supposed war against Odium! Don't let Brandon fool you, and spread the word!
  12. Specifically, the Drunk Monkey. Lightsong was right!
  13. Mistborn video game. You dun leik Mistborn! I HARE JOO! /wierdness
  14. I was saying the holding your breath probably eats up charges much quicker than Cadium, since it isn't Gold's intensed purpose.
  15. "7. Sazed seems to be doing something with Ruins power to keep it in balance with Preservations (Weaker due to Scadralians having more Preservation than Ruin) Please let this be more Atium..." I always assumed he was creating a stream of Atium to keep Marsh alive, which has the dual purpose of chucking the excess Ruin in him.
  16. Hey, at least we'll get Birthright, AoL2, and a load of other amazing crap all at once for compensation.
  17. Also note Brandon's dislike of reducing things to simple 'good' and 'evil'. I highly doubt the Ghostblood's motives would fall totally under black or white. They probably go under the grey area.
  18. Gold is probably better than Cadium, though I'm guessing its a ton less efficient. Compounding fixes the issue though. Still, I imagine using gold in space would be akin to trying to take a lava bath or continuous self-explosion. It'd suck up gold VERY quickly. Hence, Allomancy would simply be a backup if your suit failed.
  19. 'fraid I'm just gonna say the Cosmere series and leave it at that. Hands down best stuff I've ever read IMO.
  20. Well, Brandon just killed my theory's base. The idea of Adonalsium being shattered for a reason still stands, but Odium's supposed extra power no longer applies. Sadface.
  21. Pointless bumping Baydran impaled himself on Crycelia's sword, screaming in pain as the weapon tore through his essence, spew bits of golden light across the charred landscape. He ignored the pain, slicing sideways with his sword and beheading Crycelia in one smooth stroke. He saw himself almost as if from outside, watching as he collapsed to the ground beside his enemy's headless corpse. I'm dying. Again. For exactly the five-millionth time. Happy anniversary, I guess... Whispered the back of his mind. The world started to fade, growing dark and colorless now that its inhabitants were dying. I can't keep doing this. Baydran realized. I can't go through this again. Yes you can. Don't tell me you didn't feel satisfaction when you killed her. Don't you want to do that again? Whispered the Right side of his mind. Yes! Yes! Kill again! Destroy her! Chimed in the Left. As always, the Front remained silent, quiet and contemplative, never speaking. Somewhere behind his consciousness, Baydran knew he was insane. It didn't really bother him, it was, after all, one of the few things that wasn't the same every day. In a life where every day was spent killing and being killed by the same person, a little unpredictability was refreshing. Pay attention! She's dying! Called Back. In front of Bayran, Crycelia melted, dissolving into a pool of liquid gold. She deserved it. She deserved to die. She killed him, tore him apart, ate him piece by piece. Yes, he could kill her again. He would go. The darkness greeted him.
  22. Can you imagine fighting in a fez though? From my brief glimpse into the future, Fedoras are shardblade-repelling.
  23. Wooooow Zenith, Nice title... Good to know how long years are. That's always bothered me.
  24. The cereal is also Awakened, giving a whole new meaning to "Gotta Catch 'em all!"
  25. One question really quick: What are the smoke-y spren that appear around a dead chasmfiend?
