Am I the only one here who wonder how they would get past a mirror version of themselves on the street? No? Okay... You may have ot modify that strategy Phantom. If they're good enough clones, they'll pick up and roll the dice exactly like you, therefore yielding the same results. You'd need a computer with random number generation script to be sure. Why do I get the feeling I've read my post in xkcd format recently?
-
Archivist Rioter all the way. The only thing better than that is double Chromium, and there's no way somebody won't pick that. BTW, my 1,000th post!

Upvoted king for sense. Also, don't forget that the bullet, if somehow pulled sideways, would slow due to air resistance and from moving the wrong direction. Not much, but it's something.

Magic System Based on Harnessing the Memories of Inanimate Objects
Observer replied to Keeper's topic in Creator's Corner
Could you imprint your own personality into something, becoming theoretically immortal, or at least a temporary form of Darkseid? -
Now that Homestuck is on hiatus, I've tried getting into PS, but it's so many steps back and such a reminder of the first weeks of reading that I'm having a tough time.
-
Kuri....I hate you. I reached this page without it having been mentioned, and just when I thought it was safe to post, you sniped me >_> I got amazingly bored while browsing the internet, and decided to check out the super-hyped thing called "Homestuck". Being bored and possessed of a really screwed up sense of humor, I actually managed to get through the first, like, 3 weeks of reader-suggested crap and down to the good stuff. And surprise surprise, it actually was good. Good characters, nice plot. Either that or I'm just a huge sucker for anything that can do time travel and stable time loops correctly. Who can say? And, of course, xkcd, which I can proudly say I have read all the way through, along with the amazing "what if"s.

What if you had a person who could only partially interact with the magical world? Like a scar wratih from Everlost, with only a few sensary organs and maybe a finger inside? And if it were possible to make somebody like that, then could you assassinate people with ease by just bringing in a few vitals? Meh, already easy enough to spike a drink and then laser them to death anyways, but still a cool idea. What would it look like if I started telekinatically lifting around magical people? Would nonmagics be able to see that happening?

Magic System Based on Harnessing the Memories of Inanimate Objects
Observer replied to Keeper's topic in Creator's Corner
Interesting... So, if I wanted to set up a trap, I'd get a room built out of materials that have been through a lot of unpleasant experiences and either unleash it on anyone who enters, or have them try to use it and get nailed instead. Also, What happens if you harness death? Do you choose what to take in? Details on this? What happens to the whole concept of training for something when you never have to do the work? How do sports work this way? Is every person here a supersoldier, simply able to grab experience from cobblestones, or is there some kind of a limit/filter? How much can you absorb? Does this make immortality theoretically possible? -
I would like to announce that I have returned from a week long vacation to Yellowstone!

Archivist for sure. BTW: A little late, but luck is only your luck, so you can't make somebody else fall from the sky and kill you. Maybe you'd twitch wrong and sink the floor, or you wouldn't hear that IRS guy ringing your bell and then get in trouble, but only those kinds of things would apply.

Maybe it's a knowledge thing? Like, knowing something and acting on it, or not knowing something allows him to be hurt. I'm not sure what I mean by this, but it came to mind.

Harmony has more Ruin in it than Preservation, and because of this needs to vent off the extra Ruin. Whether he fills Marsh's metalminds or Bippity Boppity Boos some atium into existence isn't overly relevant. Where else would Harmony spend that investure? Edited for clarity

Lots of people have been commenting about how the superheroes are evil thing has been done already. IMNSHO, Brandon will be able to pull this off fantastically and originally the way he always does. happyman's post alone is a very good take on the whole thing, and at the very least we will soon get a very nice look at the philosophy of power. EDIT: And so ends the single most terribly written post in the history of public forum.

Interesting tidbits from signing in San Jose

I meant nothing in a Shardic sense. Maybe population was devastated too, but I don't know that. -

Probably a location relative to her own, though I could be wrong. Here's a new and even more crackpot theory: Density: Scadrial. It has two combined shards Vapors (Oh yeah!? I'm AMERICAN!): Yolen. There's probably not much left there after the shattering Broken Sky: Sel, with splintered shards Vibrance: Most likely Nalthis, for obvious reasons. -

I imagine an expanse of densities would be known as such because it has a strange amount of solid land or something. Any planets we know of that are covered in mostly water? Probably not Scadrial... -
Introducing Sanderson's works to friends

A group of theives attempt to rob their physical god of an emperor. -
I always imagined there being two basic groups of people. Those who manifest their emotions reflexively, which would either make them easy ot read or just completely emotionless, and those kinds of people who are emotional enough that using a little here and there won't get rid of it all. Those kinds would be the "mages" per se. It's kind of like how flinching or twitching is mostly reflexive, but can be controlled with effort, or used to a greater capacity if needed, provided you have the excess emotion to do so and aren't using up anything vital. As for the emotionally/mentally damaged, they're used to their fullest extent. Handicaped rights probably don't exist in this story thanks to how useful the emotionally wrecked can be for society as long as everybody looks the other way.

Heard some people complaining about the whole "Supers are evil" thing andd how unoriginal it is. Do I hear five dollars that this will be the subject of much ridicule a few months form now? Ten dollars? All this speculation is going nowhere, but it's still fun! Here I go: Yeah, very dark and very cool. Could be a Leven Thumps thing where you can't ever hurt him on purpose. Or maybe he has to actively block attacks? Heck, maybe it has to do with him using their guns on them.

Should I counter by using Alcatraz's "Questions" speech?
