But I don’t think that an honorblade provide direct feed in and of itself.. I think honor was very concerned about the power levels that surgebinders can attain, because of Ashyn and he always reassured that he can safeguard against that happening.. So I am sure that the direct feed to honor is something tanavast or the vessel of shard or in this case, Dalinar should be able to regulate.. or stop if need be.. It also seems very likely that only the Herald who actually swore the oathpact and not just any hooligan who came across an honorblade will have access to the direct feed because it is the shard of honor and oaths are important

Ok yes if it is similar to alkali metals then heat is a problem..!! Bullets and guns are a no no then.. May be old fashioned arrows are more usable then but they would be a very costly affair to make!

Allomantically: If you could manage to burn it as an allomantic metal, then I think it would grant you any allomantic or feruchemical power as long as someone with that power is in the vicinity as long as you are burning it. If more than one listings or feedings are in your vicinity then it may be will grant you all their powers while burning it. however, I think for Allomancy, some alloy of ettmetal which is more stable could be more important than ettmetal itself considering the problem with moisture and explosions Feruchemically, I think managing a metal mind is more easy and keeping it from getting wet should be more possible although sweating is a major issue there.. but I think a feruchemical metalmind should allow you to store any power of the person in your vicinity which then you can later tap as per your convenience but this metalmind is only keyed to your identity so it is usable only by you unless you store nicrosil along with other powers.. Hemalurgically: A spike of ettmetal I think should be able to steal all the powers of someone you spike..

Since we already know that ettmetal when used in southerners technology reproduces that power of Allomancy or Feruchemy which is in the vicinity, So, may be if you manage to burn it, it will grant you the allomantic or Feruchemical power of someone who is in your vicinity..while burning it..

@Calderis I thought Renarin was book 10..? I don’t think the direct feed from honor will work without the shard allowing it explicitly.. or I think Dalinar should be able to stop the direct feed anyway since he has the power of attorney on honor’s corpse..

I don’t think it is unstable at room temperature just sitting there unless it comes in contact with water.. which will only happen when the bullet enters someone’s body.. Is ettmetal combustible with slight variation in temperature too? If it were so, then it would not be used by southerners to fuel their aircrafts..

On that I agree with you completely.. either they provide so much raw power to heralds that it is Lord ruler level or they can still be used to revive the oathpact..

Only Era 1 is out with 3 books, one which you are yet to read Era 2 has 4 books total, 3 have been published and one novella Mistborn secret history is found in arcanum unbounded For Era 3 and 4, there is time yet..

Haha I knew it.. Wait till you read Era 2, then you will know what else is possible with Iron..

@Dancer I really don’t think that soulcasting would work on heralds. Firstly, we know that investiture is difficult to work on highly invested things or beings. Stick is not invested and therefore easy to soulcast thereby resulting in a permanent change in its physical, cognitive and spiritual aspect. But shardplate is highly invested and therefore will not be changed however if too much pressure is applied via supply of investiture for soulcasting, it would be instead destroyed. Understandable. However, I think that heralds that heralds are invested at a level much much higher than shardplates. So, I would guess that using soulcasting to destroy them would require such huge levels of investiture that it should be virtually impossible. @Karger How does that answer the question? Can you explain a little.

Yup I think unmades should be able to deal with heralds..

Do you think that elantris is better than these two? I know a lot of people do not like it at all..

I thought of the same thing but I think it is not correct. I think that since the moment heralds died they went straight to Braize which was a torture for them beyond our imagining, I really think that they must have done everything in their powers to ensure that they do not die.. So, I do not see that they would voluntarily give up and let themselves be killed. However the Aharietiam vision suggests that they might have chosen to hide and not fight during the later desolations minus Taln of course.. Please.. there is no need of this.. I don’t think he was the only one.. I remember stormfather saying that “it was highly unusual that only one died in the last one.. may be dumb luck or cowardice” So I don’t think that killing heralds was that easy but it was certainly not unheard of or something that never happened..

I guess we don’t need to ask about your favourite Allomantic metal either
