Hestoc sat alone from a tower, watching the celebrations. At last. A subforum. Not like I did anything to contribute. Alas, though. The emergence of the subforum occurring before Voidus Prime had been lured back into the material fold, before the Seventeenth has been put back together.... this complicated the schedule he’d been holding in the back of his mind all this time. He may yet have to involve himself in the wars surely to come. But for now, he’d just do as he had - watch, judge, and wait.

Having Fantasy withdrawal symptoms
The Thinking Herald replied to Barbarian AL's topic in General Discussion
I'd recommend Steven Erikson's Malazan Book of the Fallen. Though it can be a bit dark at times, it's a solid series in my opinion. (As well as the accompanying series the Path to Ascendancy, Novels of the Malazan Empire, the Kharkansas trilogy, and no doubt the forthcoming Toblakai Trilogy.) -

17th Shard Tautology club
The Thinking Herald replied to Voidus's topic in Social Groups, Clans, & Guilds
I have joined the tautology club by entering into its ranks. I have also ascended into the Tautology club's now-not-so-secret second level by joining the now-not-so-secret second level of the Tautology club. -

@Midavis The second point is probably not possible, as one of Dalinar's visions, set during the time of the Desolations and Knights Radiant, showed the existence of Midnight Essences, which require Re-Shepnir to create them, as shown in Part 1 of Oathbringer. According to your theory, this would mean that Midnight Essences are unrelated to the Midnight Mother, Re-Shepnir, whilst the evidence says otherwise. I'd respond to the rest of your theory, but my mind is clouded at the moment. I'll update this as I find more proof.

The door was thrown open. A woman in blue and white robes stormed in. "Lift, what in damnation have you done?", asked a very frustrated Queen of Alethkar. Correct me if I'm wrong, but House Kholin's colours are white and blue, yes?- 111789 replies

"No, no. This is no dream. I have returned. I will have my vengeance, starting with you." The Ghanderflaffle-Heahtc spoke, extending its Roots closer to Butt as he backed up into a corner.- 111789 replies

The Longest Thread (Misadventures)
The Thinking Herald replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
"Ah." The tree spoke, hissing. "My enemies, the 17th Shard, threw me down this pit, in order to.... What was it? "Limit my malignant effect on the Cosmere." That was it. But now, I have you to torture for all eternity. This will be fun. Finally, my revenge upon the accursed Butt Venture." Then, the roots of the tree seemed to detach from the ground and slither in a snakelike - no, Ghanderflaffle-like - manner towards Butt. "Yes indeed. My revenge."- 111789 replies

A sickening crack sounded as Lift and Butt hit the bottom of the bottomless pit. Lift looked around, made a frightened noise, then vanished into thin air. "Welcome, Butt Venture." Huh? Looking around, Butt saw that the speaker was apparently a.... cracked stone tree? "I am the Heahtc. You are in my lair now." The tree spoke again, before beginning to laugh maniacally.- 111789 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
The Thinking Herald replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you have a pedantic debate with other sharders about semantics and how they affect the viability of non-canon shard names and combinations. -
Leyrann, may I join as a new order? Suggested order: The Elsewards (Combination of Elsecallers and Stonewards) Oaths: 1st Ideal: Life before Death, Strength before Weakness, Journey before Destination 2nd Ideal: I will seek knowledge in order to carry out my duties. 3rd Ideal: I will use wisdom for the furthering of my goals and responsibilities. 4th Ideal: I will hold fast to my logical decisions, even when others tell me to abandon them. 5th Ideal: I am resolution. I welcome aid in amending these oaths. Surges: Transformation and Cohesion. Together, these allow me as an Elseward to not only change objects but to shape them as well. Traits: Wisdom and Dependability. Spren: Decisionspren. Appear as greyish, intricate orbs accompanying their Radiant. Attributes: They usually take long amounts of time to settle on any one course of action, judging the positive and negative outcomes of such actions before taking them. Once they make a decision, however, they stick with it, almost stubbornly, despite other people's warnings against doing so. Have a serious view on life, and usually don't communicate too well with others who may be more carefree. However, when around like-minded people, nothing stops them from going on and on about logic and learning. Resonance: Can Soulcast almost anything into almost anything else, including Soulcasting human bodies. When shaping, often end up with intricate and detailed results, shaping armour from stone itself and the like. I'd like to join as an Elseward of the Third Ideal, and throw my lot in with the Knights of Honor.

What character are you most like?
The Thinking Herald replied to Kidpen's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I'm kinda a combination of Sazed, Elend, and Renarin, leaning more towards Renarin. I read a lot, am, admittedly, slightly insecure, think a lot about things I have no right to be thinking about, such as political issues, ask questions where I probably shouldn't ask them, and try desperately to fit into my friends' definition of cool and in. -

Granted, but all the d20s in the world disappear suddenly, and you can't roll nat 20s on d20s. I wish for real and high amounts of charisma to be used in daily interaction. -

What if You Were the Only Person on Earth for 24 Hours?
The Thinking Herald replied to Draginon's topic in General Discussion
I'd probably figure out how to hack into computers, do so to GRRM's, Sanderson's, and Rothfuss's computers and install un-trackable spyware to read all their forthcoming novels. Or I could freak out and panic. -
Seems to me to be the case, too. In all likelihood, they just changed it from a "part 2" to a different title for marketing reasons (Ie so that audiences don't immediately say "this is the same film"), or for tonal and plot reasons yet unknown to us.
