singers (OB) Transformers more than meets the eye
MountainKing replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Singers have forms of power that use the Surges and are not of Odium, but Radiant Honda are different. Normal singers bonds work starts in the Physical Realm then reaches the Spiritual Realm, where the spren changes the singers spiritweb ,and that causes the singers change forms. A Radiant bond heals the spiritweb. The spren takes their spiritweb and shoves it into the recipient's spiritweb, fusing the spirit webs together. This allows the Radiant to use stormlight, just like a spren. Radiant bonds don't change existing spiritwebs or has an existing spot to fuse with, they just fill in the cracks in the spiritweb. Regular bonds have a dedicated spot in singers spiritweb. -
Reckoners should be Cosmere!
MountainKing replied to I think I am here.'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
One biggest problem with the Reckoners and Cosmere being in the same Multiverse is that the Cosmere has more rules of the universe than just physics: Cognitive Realm, Spiritual Realm, and how each realm interacts with the other realms. This could explain how Epics get their power, investiture from the Spiritual Realm and that Calamity is a splinter that edits the Epic's spiritweb and then unconsciously influence them via cracks in the spiritweb, but the biggest problem with that idea is that the Spiritual Realm doesn't has distance, so everything is connected, how do the shards not know of all the different universes, unless each universe has their own Spiritual Realm. -
Forms, The Last Legion, and the Rhythms
MountainKing replied to Calderis's topic in Stormlight Archive
Odium killed Honor, but before he killed Honor, Honor binded Odium's mind to the Rosharan system, because Honor it now dead only the Stormfather, the spren that holds Tanavast's cognitive shadow, can free him. The Stormfather is a spren who doesn't change so he will never free Odium, but if a Stormfather were to bond a human, and the human says sufficient amount of oaths then the human can free Odium on Tanavast's behalf. Basically Odium is attacking Roshar, so that he can force the Stormfather's hand, which would lead to creating someone that Odium can influence to create a senario where he can freed. It's just like how Ruin could only break out of prison with Persavation's power, Odium needs Honor or someone holding Honor's power to release the binding. -

Forms, The Last Legion, and the Rhythms

The Parshmen assumed forms directly after being healed, Venli mentioned that the Parshmen has many different forms when she sees them in one chapter. -

theory Fabrials: evidence of a new Shard?
MountainKing replied to Yezrien's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I wouldn't considered fabrials a magic system in the same sense as allomancy or oath making/swearing(surgebinding)*, because fabrials are like computers, they use the natural laws of the universe to get a specific effect. Fabrials could have been created pre shattering they just weren't created (that we know of). Allomancy and oath making/swearing* are what happens when a shard or shards start to interfere with the universe and can only be used or created post shattering Your idea on hermalurgy is fascinating. There is a chance that Yolish lightweaving is/was similar to hermalurgy where you don't need to be on the planet is was originally founded on to use it and that a another group of people could rediscover it. Medallions are not fabrials. Medallions specifically use f-nicrosil minds and excisors (they could relate back to hermalurgy or Kelsier's god metal) to basically allow a user to use a feruchemical ability by either attaching something to their spirit web(like hermalurgy), create a weak Connection between the medallion and the user in the spiritual realm, or a completely different method that we don't know of. *I used oath making instead a surgebinding, because technically surgebinding is a passive magic system, that existed pre shattering, because it is a user interacting with their environment. It just so happens that their environment is sentient.** The actually magic system associated with Cultivation and Honor is the oath making/swearing. Oath swearing improves a nahel bond by fusing the spiritwebs of the user and the a part of the environment together. Allowing for new, unseen abilities to appear that originally weren't there when the nahel bond first appear, i.e. shardplate, shardblade, and a higher efficiency of using stormlight. **Of course it could be argued that it's not a passive system because Adonalsium directly created the spren, but you can form nahel bonds with other cognitive entities, i.e. cognitive shadows, and cognitive shadows are naturally occurring. -

Reckoners should be Cosmere!
MountainKing replied to I think I am here.'s topic in Cosmere Discussion
The actually quote -
But if Taln dismissed his blade and Hoid gave him a replacement blade, then Good isn't responsible for the missing Honorblade, Taln is.
-
To all non-Skybreakers PSA makers one of our oaths are "I am Law" and we have at least one member of our order that has sworn our fifth oath, unlike the other orders, so unless you want him to kill his spren, and not allow future Skybreakers to swear their fifth oath, so then we will be just like the other orders, please refrain from making PSA's that interfere with a skybreaker's duty.

Do you mean Nale? Sorry for the double post, but I don't know how to edit in a quote from another post after already posting a post.

What if Taln still has his blade. So honorblades don't disappear when dismiss, so what stopping a random lighewye from seeing this crazy darkeye with a nice looking honorblade, and decides that this honorblade looks better than theirs so they will just make a switch and call it a day. But Taln still bonded to the blade, so the lighteye would realize that he can't bond with it via gem, but he also wouldn't get the surges because Taln is still bonded. This theory does have flaws in it like why would someone go to such an extreme risk just because of how a blade looks, so another theory is that while Taln was crazy he accidentally dismissed the blade. Whoever watching Taln wouldn't know how honorblades work so he would think someone stole the blade, so he gets a random blade, maybe one of the king's blades that wasn't taken to the Shattered Plains, and hopes no one notices it. And third final theory is Taln, like the other two theories, is still bonded to his blade, someone took it a random lighteye or a secret society, but nevertheless once Taln calls to his blade the blade will appear in his hands. As of right now, besides of direct shard intervention, Old magic, Hermalurgic, and maybe Feruchemy there is no way to steal a bond. And the secret societies would not have a shard on their side, access to Old magic, and wouldn't have the ability to spike a blade. Taln in the books never had the chance to summon his blade because he has been crazy/recovering from torture for all of book two and most of book three, and during book three's final battle he was hiding from the battle.

But they would of heard of parshmen becoming singers and the everstorm passes in their region yet they don't do anything, they refuse to accept that a desolation has began.
-
I believe the Stone Shamans have the honorblades, they were confident that when Szeth dies they can get the honorblades, so they have some way of tracking honorblades.
-
The Horneaters do kill some of the people who try to enter the perpendicularity, they kill any forgiener who tries to "bathe" in their pools.
-
The Stormfather works as a doorway for stormlight to enter the physical realm that's why the Stormfather needed to always need to have a part of him in the highstorm.

The resonance is caused by having multiple powers, if a user has A-tin then gets spiked to have A-Pewter they will have a resonance, its just that because Mistborn have so many powers their resonances cancel each other out. Yes, by my logic, Mistborns are an available choice, but the probability that the allomancer your fighting is a mistborn and not a misting is low.
-
But then we would be mixing magic systems, and that's not fair, of course it can be argued that Radiants are using more than one magic systems, the natural symbiosis that happens in Roshar and Honor's investiture increasing the bond's strength.
-
I just want to mention that because the Radiant head is in a helmet of pure investiture or heavy invested material, emotionally allomancy won't affect them. Also where assuming the allomancer is a mistborn, but the average surgebinder can't use all the surges so we should assume that the allomancer is a misting, and really the only mistings that might be able to put up a fight would be pewter, electrum, or cadmium.
-
I saying if you were to spike yourself then use gold healing, then maybe you could awaken the spike.
-
But a windeunner can use lashings on his shardplate, so I'm assuming that as long as you were the one spiked, so the spike had your identity, and it's your breath, you should be able awaken the spike because they share the same identity.

White Sand I believe is the oldest published Cosmere story by a long shot.

This isn't Vasher first time on Roshar and while he was on Roshar earlier he studied shardblades. Khriss life long mission is studying magic systems. Aluminum is a Cosmere constant so that's okay, and remember Vasher and Khriss are both over 2000-5000+ years
