    I don't think that Kelsier got Feruchemy from the first generation, but I do believe that the first generation still has the Feruchemy Gene in their spiritweb. How I understand Kandra and Mistwraith creation is that Rashek create a blockage between the cognitive aspects and physical aspects of all Feruchemists, this caused the Feruchemists to muatate into mistwraiths and lose their Feruchemy and minds. Spiking a mistwraith creates two holes in the blockage that allows them to have conscience again, but in the case of the First Generation the holes were not big enough compared to the blockage to get back their Feruchemy or original form that was inscribed in their Spiritual DNA.

    Vin did try to speak to Elend and she only got the faintest idea across, so I think that taking a up a whole shard causing the vessel to be restricted then taking up a splinter when dealing with intent

    What I would like to know is how did Kelsier become a Full Feruchemist after dying, without using Feruchemy. Unless the spike in his eye is nicrosil.

    Perservation as a shard can't communicate via cracks or holes in the spiritweb. Rashek didn't hold enough of the shard to be influenced by Perservation mandated. Perservation can appear by creating an avatar of himself and talking to people, but his mandate stops him from influencing or communicate with people via cracks or holes in the spirit aspect of someone. He can talk to things that mind exist solely or majority in the spiritual realm.

    When Leras held Perservation during the final empire era, most of his mind is being used to stop Ruin from escaping. This cause most of his actions to only be guided by his mandate: Perservation. Because of this Leras's actions was all about perserving, so any action, like appearing to someone*, would cause change. It has also been confirmed that Perservation can only listen to minds and Ruin can only talk to minds, but that it just because of their intents and Brandon wanting to have a dichotomy between the two shards. But we know that's not the case for all shards. Stormlight Archive Spoilers: *Leras does appear to Elend, but that was his final attempt before Ruin killed him and Kelsier influencing him to do more to help stop Ruin.

    I do think that Harmony can block other people from controlling his Kandras by applying the investiture to the holes in their souls without taking control of them

    The only reason why Bleeder joined the Set was to not be controlled, and other shards can control kandras, that why emotional allomancy affects them. And when I said that the other side had Faceless Immortals, I didn't mean they are making Kandra, but that they have agents that can blend in society like Kandra, the reason why I called them Faceless Immortals was that it what Suit called them.

    But Perservation still stole a piece of Ruin, which I think is what happened to Trell. Some other entity another avatar of Autonomy or another shard stole a piece a him. The WoB that says the metal is from a shard we know is still correct because it is from a shard we know, the investiture was just stolen from him.

    I just want to point out that Perservation stole a bit of Ruin and the changed it affect on Allomancy.

    I just want to point out that deadeye spren have a spiritual wound, it's similar to what happen to the Parshmen.

    I still think it might not be Trell just because at the end of Bands of Mourning, the enemy shard's "faceless immortals" were mind controlled civilians and Trell is an avatar of Autonomy, and I think that mind controlling people would be against his intent.

    Trellium's special property is that it resists all things trying to influence a the spiked person using holes in their souls.

    No it's the Kandras' minds, the spikes are what allow the Kandras' to be controlled.

    I'm not saying that the perpendicularity healed Maya but that is provided her with ambient investiture, and now that investiture can be used to heal her.

    I was thinking about a Trellium when it occurred to me that just because the God metal is Trellium does mean it's Trellium leading the attack. Atium was stolen from Ruin, so what's stopping another avatar of Autonomy or a shard from stealing some of The investiture, making a God metal and then pretend to be Trell.
