  1. I smile. "So, where should the Pantheon location be? We might not want it here."
  2. I sigh and wave my hand in an oddly specific manner, restoring the fourth wall. "People," I say, "there's a hole for a reason. Go through that. "I also want to be God of Dreams, Thoughts, and Desires, if that's alright."
  3. Nekorb went to sleep. (333rd post!) @Karnatheon
  4. I don't think a government is the way to go on rules/regulations for an RP forum. Any justice system would be in-world, and that wouldn't apply to many of the things we are discussing. I personally don't feel like many of these rules would come as a shock, so I don't really think it's necessary. I also agree that we should figure out what big event will mark Era 3.
  5. Nogard ran across the shore of the island, mentally calling out to Kodeka. He received a response almost immediately. I am coming. The island sounded terrified. Nogard remembered what had happened last time. They'd gotten lucky, thankfully. It might not be too much to hope that the same thing would happen this time. They weren't that far from the mountains, after all. As he ran, he nabbed a fruit from one of the trees and started chewing on it. He needed all the Stormlight he could get. Speaking of which... He reached out to the island, mentally. Kodeka's Investiture stores had been replenished in the Alleycanes, but that would only get him so far. Another island- especially one this big- would give him far more power. And he needed all the power he could get. @AxeliustheGrizzled
  6. The man handed Fred a card with an address on it, then left.
  7. Of course! It just was partly my fault that the thread go so off-topic.
  8. I'd like to apologize for the alley ╔╦╦═╬╦═ situation. Won't happen again (hopefully). I myself am only part of one guild, although one of my characters subscribes to the Liebrarians. It does seem, however, that lots of people are in multiple guilds, and if we want guilds to be involved in stuff, that just can't happen. A thing to remember is that any investiture is likely going to massively increase your chances against a non-invested individual. This means that characters without investiture are basically going to be toast if they go up against other characters. I agree with other peoples' suggestions on this front.
  9. "I still want to have a few interactions with the world below. But I will trust all of your judgement to decide whether my actions are too interventionist. "I think that if we do have a Pantheon, we should give the characters the chance to Ascend to the position. So leave it open, for now, until someone proves themself."
  10. I'm making a plot (hopefully) that's more about exploration than fighting, (although there are plenty of hostile natives to fight, if you so desire). I wasn't intending it to be a perfectly up-to-date summary, but it would make a good archive for newer players.
  11. I'll play the non-picture version. I had an idea where all of the squares are people, or locations, or items, or whatever.
  12. I've been wondering when Era 3 will start. We need something big to mark the transition. I haven't really been part of much guild stuff, and I'm interested to see how that plays out. Organization & Planning: definitely. I agree with all the points made here.
  13. Nekorb yawned. "We'd better get to bed, then."
  14. The dark blob jumped from lamp to lamp, gobbling up the stuff inside. It could feel itself growing stronger, bit by bit.
  15. I glared at him. "Don't call dibs now. Why couldn't I be god of fire? My profile creature - which I'm named after - is made of fire." I realized that might have been a little harsh. "Uh, sorry. I mean, I don't particularly want to be god of fire. God of wisdom suits me better, I think. But we should make a list of potential Pantheon jobs."
  16. A dark-skinned man stood on a raft watching the approaching island. He smiled. It wasn't a cheerful smile. ~~~~~ Nogard looked up. Something wasn't right. He could feel it. He looked off into the distance, trying to figure out what it was. Suddenly he noticed a shadow on the horizon. He squinted to try and make it out. As it moved closer, he realized what it was. His eyes widened, and he stumbled backwards. He raised his voice in terror, calling out to the rest of the island the dire warning: "Shadowbirds!" @Badadah, @Sorana, @Archer, @AxeliustheGrizzled, @Karnatheon, @Callsign: Leviathan, @Dr. Jacques Rodriguez
  17. I smiled at Meta's interference. I stopped him from removing the glasses from Rekaerb. They looked kind of cool, after all. "I think forming a pantheon is a great idea." I suddenly noticed something in Meta's posts. "The way that the Avatar/Author interface works is the same way that the Account/Author interface works, if that helps you any. And I think we've agreed that while that," I said, gesturing upwards, "is a fourth wall, that," I continued, pointing downwards at the hole, "is also the fourth wall."
  18. I feel this could lead to issues if people don't want to or aren't good at this sort of thing. What if people don't post because they don't want to wind up having to give the summary? I will do this, if that is decided on, but I don't know how good my summaries will be. It might be better for somebody to volunteer for each summary job. I would definitely upvote anyone who posts a summary, so there's that. Whatever the decision is, I would recommend TL;DR posts for posts that are especially long. In addition, things important to give in the summary could perhaps be shown in another color (say, purple). However the summaries get written, we should have a pinned thread that lists all the current plots and gives their summaries. They could even have something that showed if newcomers were welcome, and/or when they will be welcome. I think keeping a slow pace is a good idea, but I kind of feel like our pace is slow enough already in most threads.
  19. The dark blob suddenly realized that it was hungry. Very hungry. It reached out, desperately, trying to find sustenance. To its surprise, it found it in the thing it was resting on. It drank it up, greedily. In the dimly lit alley, the first sphere went out.
  20. Nekorb nodded. "I'm okay with that."
  21. Wow, I just reread the post- Orlok was spot on with the Spiked clue. I'm impressed.
  22. Sorry for not being more active. I was definitely acting very suspiciously, so thanks for not killing me.
  23. "My character is from a future that might happen. He doesn't remember it, though, so it's sort of a moot point. But yes, changing the past beyond retcons is a bad idea. "As for ending up in different times and places, the timeline for all the different threads is already super skewed. It works out fine, and I don't expect very many people to wind up thousands of years in the future."
  24. I declared myself standing up, having forgotten whether or not I was or not. Then I sat down. I waved at Sorana "One of my characters is from the future, but it's an unwritten future. So it might happen, or it might not: but once it happens, it's written and can't be changed. Does that make sense?"
