  1. Far off, a broken man climbed a forgotten mountain to the top of the world. ...he must reach the summit he must not reach the summit he must fall along the way others must help him he must do it alone... The threads of Fate spun and wove, remembering what was yet to come...
  2. Nekorb swallowed. That... didn't sound good. In fact sounded very not good. Especially because... "We didn't miss anything," said Nekorb, shaking his head. "This tunnel's too small for us to miss anything." Which meant the only way was forwards. Towards whatever... thing was making that noise.

  10. Pheonix took a deep breath and smiled. Today was a good day. For one, they'd finally managed to root out the last of the mimes from the main control chamber. That meant full access to the core passageways, but more importantly it meant more Narrativium. And more Narrativium meant more time. Which was good, as they still hadn't found a single open bridge anywhere. Plenty of what looked to have been gates, once- some even with Narrative power cells linked up still - but none functional. But the pressure of the clock had lifted. They had plenty of time to fix the portals, open new ones, or whatever else they needed to do. And, in the meantime, there were passageways to explore. Pheonix pushed off the railing and began to walk aimlessly through Tom's ship, humming a happy tune as he wandered. Today was going to be the day Star awoke. He just knew it.

  12. The withergeists turned him from dust into smoke.
  13. Nekorb blew out a breath and followed.
  14. Nekorb sighed and pushed off the wall. "What other choice do we have?"
  15. "No, I don't think so," said Nekorb, pulling himself to his feet. "And no, I wasn't given a map." He sighed, looking back up the shaft they had just fallen down. Too steep, he thought glumly. "You wouldn't happen to have some sort of power that lets you climb walls, would you?"
  16. "Owwww," groaned Nekorb, slightly muffled by the rock. "Yeah, I'm-" he winced, pushing himself up, "-fine, I guess. I mean, I've already fallen down one pit today."
  17. *shakes head in amusement* Light began to stream from Jacob as he redoubled his efforts. Almost... there... And an instant before the darkness reached her heart, he caught up, burning every last inch of darkness out of Sophie for good. He released the spear, his energy spent. "Be careful," he rasped, as he pulled out his clipboard. "Learn to use the spear. Don't... get bit again. Farewell." And with that, he vanished.
