  1. Take this, thought Michael, and a spear with a metal shaft and a crystal spearhead formed in her hands. Then run. From all around came a sudden rumbling sound. Slowly, ever so slowly, the chamber began to darken...
  2. Yes, thought Michael, eyeing Ruin. I'm afraid you'll be on your own for this next part.
  3. I don't know, sent Michael telepathically. Try to find him when you leave, if you can.
  4. It already passed, right? It got three votes...
  5. Silence has done many things, admitted Michael tersely, several rather unethical. I do not claim to know all his actions, let alone condone them. But he never tortured Star.
  6. At that moment, a withergeist jumped him from behind.
  7. Silence never tortured Star, said Michael distractedly. Not that I ever knew of.
  8. Michael turned to face her. I think so, he said soberly. If anything we can do can make a difference. At that moment, the screen cut to the screaming Jaywalk.
  9. Sort of a moot point, admitted Michael, as we couldn't open the gates even if we wanted to. --- Dark fire burned through Jaywalk, emanating from the withergeist that had attached itself to him like a ghostly parasite.
  10. Nekorb cowered behind a rock in terror.
  11. You're telling me, said Michael grimly. If the gates between worlds were open, it wouldn't be so much of an issue... but we can't let the withergeists escape.
  12. Michael watched on his holographic screen as the two most dangerous threats within the scope of the world formed an alliance. Not good, he muttered. Not good at all...
  13. But the withergeists did not respond. They were busy devouring Hazel.
  14. He had only time for an exclamation of dismay before the withergeists devoured him from the inside out, leaving behind only a medium-sized pile of ash.
  15. But the withergeist had left its mark, and its kindred were called. One, then two, then five began drifting towards Havel, hissing and moaning. Unhindered, the withergeist brushed its ghostly hand against Jaywalk, screeching in triumph as it began to bond with him.
  16. The withergeist devoured Havel from the inside, then leapt hissing at Jaywalk.
  17. Not necessarily. It could have been a random redirect.
  18. I cut them off, said Michael grimly. Nothing can escape here now. Including us.
  19. I'm not sure, said Michael. The situation doesn't look good, does it? Not just one but two villains, both with an army of immortal death-ghosts. Jaywalk suddenly heard the rattling breath of a withergeist directly behind him.
  20. Just in time to die, muttered Michael under his breath.
  21. No, admitted Michael. But, to be honest, I really can't help. Especially not right now...
  22. In addition, everyone who attended would be executed.
  23. They were mindless, for the most part, but they could still do intelligent things.
