"Agreed," grunted Anikel. "Not a big fan of death, myself."

"I'm fine with whatever, I guess," shrugged Yerik.

"Alright then," Yerik exhaled. "I guess we keep running."

Anikel's brow furrowed. "I don't smell anything." "Will we be able to hide?" worried Yerik. "She was able to track us down last time." "I... have no idea," replied Yerik, blinking. Somehow, Geff and and the rest of the crew had completely slipped his mind the past couple of days. He had a hard time imagining that they would have been able to make much progress, given how destroyed the ship had looked, but he supposed it was always possible. Except... "Wait," he said. "They don't know about the curse, do they? They don't know they need to keep their names hidden."

"Do you have any other secrets?" asked Yerik.

"Was this... Shadow always your plan?" asked Yerik. "For when we got to the Queen?" Anikel frowned. "Never heard of that. Still, if it's energy, I'm sure there's a way to do it!"

"Er... Any kind, depending on how it was forged." He raised a gauntlet. "I've got a little bit in my glove, tuned to kinetic force. It gives my punches some oomph."

"It can absorb and release energy! When forged by a Forgemaster, that is."

"All of them," replied Yerik. "The villagers weren't too happy, so we left."

Anikel furrowed his eyebrows. "Because it's rare, obviously! Used to only exist on the Nameless Island. This very well might be the first vein found on Orteo!"

"Well... how much do you remember? Of the battle?"

Yerik turned his gaze sharply towards Miyako. "Are you... fine?" he asked.

"Because it's magic. Also valuable." He chuckled. "Very valuable." Yerik pulled a lever hesitantly and the carriage shot up into the air, slowing to a stop a foot or so above the tops of the trees. "Oops," he muttered, reversing the motion. The carriage plummeted but came to a stop before slamming into the ground. After a few more near-crashes, however, Yerik seemed to get the hang of controlling the vehicle @Ookla the Kobold

"It's hardly random. The soldiers had to get here somehow, didn't they? And... I mean..." It's not like they need it anymore.

Yerik hopped aboard. "We ride it."

Yerik blinked, staring at the carriage. "No, I... I've only heard about these. The metal that you need to make them is super rare. Well... anywhere but here."

"It's not my forgiveness you need to worry about," replied the Elder as Hyron and Yerik walked away. The pair trudged forwards in silence. In the distance, they spotted what seemed to be a golden carriage. It had no wheels: instead, it floated in the air.

"My name is Anikel," replied the same. He gestured to the young man riding beside him. "This is Terakor." He let Quendi introduce herself. "As for where we're headed, that would be the town of Pietmed." Yerik sank to the ground, suddenly exhausted. He looked around wearily at the carnage that Miyako had wrought. In the village, faces began to poke out of doors, people making their way onto the streets to observe the aftermath of the battle. A low murmur began in the crowd, full of anxious whispers and furtive glances. All of a sudden, a scream rang out. Yerik glanced over and saw the Second Elder being held back by a few of the villagers, her face a mask of horror. "LENNA!" she screamed, her eyes fixed on the woman that Miyako had beheaded. "LENNA!" With one final scream, her voice gave out, as did her strength. She slumped to the ground, sobbing quietly as she was carried gently away. The First Elder broke free of the crowd, whose murmurings had begun to turn angry. His expression was grave as he approached Hyron and Yerik. "You should leave," he said tersely. "Now." @Ookla the Crow

Yerik continued running for a couple of steps before he realized Hyron had turned around. He tried to stop, but something in him resisted, so he gritted his teeth and forced his legs to stop moving. He turned, standing behind Yerik, ready to get them out of danger if they needed it.

Yerik watched, dumbfounded, as Miyako turned to face them with... that gaze. He started raising his shield, then realized it was pointless- he'd seen Miyako's dark aura breach his shield earlier. If she wanted to kill them, then... No, he thought. This isn't right, this can't be happening. He stood, frozen, like a deer in headlights, until- RUN. The command echoed in his head, spurring him to action. He grabbed hold of Hyron, his feet moving without his command. A chill washed through the pair of them as he activated his abilities to reduce their mass, running as fast as he could in the opposite direction. @Ookla the Crow @Ookla the Kobold

For just a moment before the blade landed, an expression of confusion and despair flickered across the woman's face. The wrapped soldiers froze, trying not to attract attention.

Yerik opened his mouth, at a loss for words. "It's not your fault," he managed at last.

With a clang, the woman's sword was flung out of her grip. She gasped, falling to the ground.

The final guard let out a cry and lunged for Miyako, utterly disregarding her safety as she struck.

The two guards fell. Neither of them had time even to scream. That left just the one. As her compatriots fell, her eyes narrowed. Her attacks became more aggressive, faster. "H- I mean, hey!" Yerik dropped down by Hyron. "Are you alright?"
