We know that in the Cognitive Realm, an object's "soul" is determined by how people perceive it. I imagine the single object/multiple object phenomena is related to this.

I think you only need to consider the weight of the core of the planet, as that's the part that's metal. However, this would only reduce the weight by a factor of ~3, so it won't actually affect the calculations that much. This is the point I was making up above. You don't have to weigh more than the other object to apply force to it. Any amount of force will be enough to impart some velocity to the planet. The bigger question is how big of a force do you need for it to be noticeable? This is as good as a guess as any, but could drastically affect the calculations. Brandon has mentioned that there are some kind of limits, but (AFAIK) hasn't detailed what they are. I imagine there must be a limit to the magnitude of weight increase or the rate of tapping.

I'd say yes (although only very slightly). Don't Newton's laws still apply? If a 50lb person steelpushes against a 100lb person, both people get pushed backward (the lighter person gets pushed back more) If two 50lb people pushed against the same 100lb person, the heavier person would get pushed back twice as much. I don't even think that they would need to increase their weight. As long as they could "see" the planet core, any amount of force on the planet's core is going to "move" it (although by a minuscule amount).

Seeing as how every other planet has worldhoppers, I would guess that Roshar (one of the most important in the Cosmere) would also produce a few.

[OB] Will Shallan ever find a good (girl) friend?
Scion of the Mists replied to Dreamstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
Brandon has specifically called this out as one of his regrets : (spoilered for length) Regarding women with frinds in Stormlight, I would also include Shallan with Kabsal, Tyn (man, Shallan has the worst taste in friends), and her band of merry mercenaries. Also, Navani with Dalinar and the fabrial engineers. -
[OB] Kaladin written as a gay man?
Scion of the Mists replied to Kaladins's topic in Stormlight Archive
Brandon has specifically said that he has not written a gay main viewpoint character, so this would exclude Kaladin. (However, the footnote has some very interesting stuff about Jasnah, which I hadn't seen before) -
I believe, with the advent of the Everstorm, the Oathpact is no longer useful, as the Fused just get reincarnated the next time the storm passes through.

[OB] Cusicesh, the 3rd Bondsmith Spren?
Scion of the Mists replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Stormlight Archive
Meta-reasons. Duh. Not sure why I didn't think of that. So, you think that the large majority of Rosharan investiture is assigned to the three resident Shards? Do you think that the initial distribution (at the moment of the Shattering) was roughly equal or do you think that it was imbalanced in favor of Honor/Cultivation (i.e. the abundance of nature spren led to more Cultivation investiture, which made Roshar more attractive to H/C)? Obviously, over time, H/C and eventually Odium invested more investiture into the system.- 62 replies

[OB] Cusicesh, the 3rd Bondsmith Spren?
Scion of the Mists replied to Bigmikey357's topic in Stormlight Archive
Is the Rosharan system made up of investiture exclusively from the three resident shards? I was assuming that it was a mixture of all 16 (although HCO may have an outsized influence due to their proximity).- 62 replies

Two facts that Brandon has repeatedly said: Investiture, matter, and energy are all the same thing All investiture is assigned to one of the 16 Shards Taken together, this suggests that all matter (and energy, but matter is more interesting) is assigned to one of the Shards. That means people, animals, planets, etc. are composed of a mix of the 16 Shards. Presumably it's not a perfectly balanced mixture, so certain people may be more strongly identified with certain Shards. This could have an interesting effect when the Shards clash, especially since they have a fondness for working through their minions.

Here's a confusing WOB that states there's only one magic system on Taldain, and that the Sky Colors are "more a matter of ecology than the magic" - but then goes on to talk about how closely tied the magic/ecology are. So ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Not sure how this fits in with Scythe.

I just stumbled across this WOB that confirms Shardic involvement: -
Odium's role in the overall Cosmere?
Scion of the Mists replied to Cosmernaut's question in Cosmere Q&A
IIRC, Odium is trapped primarily by an agreement with Honor, not Cultivation (although she did "help"). -
[OB] Poll - Opinion on Adolin
Scion of the Mists replied to Dreamstorm's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't really have any strong feelings about Adolin, per se. However, I do think it's very important to have some of the main characters NOT be Radiant. I mean, each book's focus character is, by definition, a Knight Radiant. Now they're all starting to have squires too. That's why I love that Adolin and Navani are present - they provide a much needed contrast to the superheros. -
I recently ran across this WOB, that I thought was hilarious. Apparently in 2011, Brandon was planning for subsequent Stormlight books to be shorter than Way of Kings... We all know how that turned out. (Hardback page count: WOK - 1001; WOR - 1087; OB - 1248)

Darkside oddity? (Volume 2 spoilers)
Scion of the Mists replied to TruthlessofNalthis's topic in White Sand
I think the border their referring to is between different countries on Darkside. I'll refrain from saying anything more because I don't want to accidentally reveal information from the prose.- 8 replies

White Sand presents a contradiction

The Darkside sun is smaller, weaker, and obscured by a particulate ring. (per the wiki page) -

I didn't think that OB spoilers were allowed in this forum, even with the spoiler tag, per the Oathbringer Spoiler Policy. -
Darkside oddity? (Volume 2 spoilers)
Scion of the Mists replied to TruthlessofNalthis's topic in White Sand
I thought that Darkside and Dayside were separated by ocean, so there wouldn't be any (land-based) Dayside-Dynasty border to guard. Edit: Here's the Dayside map: https://coppermind.net/wiki/File:Dayside_map.jpg- 8 replies

Here's the WOB Khyrindor's talking about: 100% different universes - there's no Earth in the Cosmere. I don't believe Brandon's given us much information about the supposed other deities (God Beyond, etc.). Here's what we've got: https://wob.coppermind.net/adv_search/?tags=god+beyond AFAIK, Adonalsium created pretty much everything, with Scadrial being the main exception. Preservation and Ruin jointly created it from scratch. (Assuming you mean sentient races ) There are numerous other races: spren, Ryshadium, Dragons, Sho Del (whatever those are). Brandon has talked about (although I can't find the quote) that this is something he prefers to leave ambiguous and up to the readers.

2018-03-10 Dragons Keep - Orem, UT
Scion of the Mists replied to ElephantEarwax's topic in Events and Signings
Just curious, what were the kinds of things that were off the record? Were they spoilers, things that had previously been RAFO'd, things that he didn't want to cannonize yet?
