  1. We actually have a Word of Brandon that Atium can be used to "steal any of the powers." I actually think that it is, in fact, Trellium. I was responding to @Calderis's argument that using another Shard's godmetal was "needlessly convoluted." The Shards are presumably not able to pick/change at will the Allomantic/Feruchemical/Hemalurgical abilities of their godmetals. Therefore, Trell/Autonomy, for example, might need to coopt a different Shard's metal because her's doesn't do what she needs it to do.
  2. Moash's dagger is "similar to Hemalurgy." Brandon considers them separate things, but they share the same fundamentals. Odium's imprisonment is "not a direct result of the Oathpact, but the Oathpact was part of it."
  3. Just because the Nightwatcher offered Nightblood to Dalinar, doesn't necessarily mean that she was in possession of it at that time.
  4. It is similar, but not exactly the same.
  5. Also, the other Gravitation Herald is no longer with us...
  6. In one of Dalinar's visions in WOK, a Radiant talks about how Alethela (the Silver Kingdom precursor to Alethkar) was devoted to warfare, to free up the remaining Kingdoms to pursue other callings.
  7. Is this from Warbreaker? I don't remember anything like this.
  8. Oh, we have confirmation on that? I wasn't sure... No, we do not have confirmation of this. I'm of the belief it was something else, due to the fact that Nightblood's been described as "one of the most heavily Invested objects in the Cosmere," and 1000 Breaths, while a lot, doesn't seem like nearly enough to account for his strength/level of Investiture.
  9. Wouldn't one purpose be the the other Shard's godmetal has a specific ability that you want? For example, maybe Trell/the Set needed to use Atium because it allows for Hemalurgical stealing of any attribute, which Trell's godmetal wouldn't allow for.
  10. We have confirmation that Hoid is originally from Yolen and that he predates the Shattering. It has been theorized that he may have merged with Adonalsium's cognitive shadow (if such a thing exists). Dalinar said "I am Unity" - not Harmony. Nobody knows what exactly that meant, although people have lots of ideas. Check out the Oathbringer forums, there are probably a dozen different Unity threads. Hoid's mission is still unknown. Brandon has said that reuniting the shards "is what the books seem to indicate is happening."
  11. Where does it say that silver is unpushable? Are you sure you're not thinking of aluminum? I'm not sure I followed that. Are you saying that you think steel created from an iron metalmind would be less resistant because its Investiture/mass ratio is lowered? That seems reasonable to me.
  12. I fully agree that it's most likely Autonomy - it's just that with Brandon, you never know. I would put Odium as the most likely non-Autonomy candidate (Brandon has said that Odium presents a real threat to Harmony and that he would be able to make a Metallic Arts-viable godmetal). I also disagree that interfering with Scadrial is against Cultivation's intent.
  13. Oh, I understand now. I wasn't sure what "a sample of steel that can't effectively be used as a metalmind" meant; I assumed hwiles was referring to an off-nominal alloy (is there a proper term for this?).
  14. How, exactly, do you get that conclusion from that WOB? (For the record, I agree, but I don't see how this WOB proves it)
  15. I don't see why this would be the case. There are plenty of metals that cannot be used to power Allomancy/Feruchemy, but they're all susceptible to pushing/pulling. AFAIK, Aluminum is the only "immune" metal.
  16. @rparam Topics with Oathbringer spoilers in them must be marked with [OB] in the title. You can edit your post to add the tag.
  17. Is this true? I can't find any info about this on Coppermind or the Arcanum.
  18. This is the result of her interaction with the Nightwatcher, not a Radiant ability
  19. You may want to change the wording of the poll; "connect her experience with DID" is pretty vague if you really mean "thought she actually had DID." I voted yes, not because I thought she actually had DID (which there's some debate as to whether it even really exists), but because it seemed like a magical issue that clearly drew inspiration from DID (or at least Hollywood's representation); or, as you put it: "having a weird fantasy disorder that was maybe vaguely reminiscent of DID."
  20. @animalia I believe the general (but by no means unanimous) consensus around here is that Ash will indeed swap Orders to become a Dustbringer. However, I don't think that anyone's gone further beyond that and tied it to the ending of Stormlight - good theory! P.s. Double posting is discouraged on this site. See the Site Rules.
  21. Good point about the Stormfather merging with the Cognitive Shadow of Tanavast. I always forget about that. I still would group all 3 together, just like Brandon does. I personally lean toward the Sibling being a mixture of Honor and Cultivation, as was mentioned by other posters. The Unmade are splinters of Odium, so they likely would not have predated the shattering/arrival of the Shards. (Although it's really hard to say because we really have no idea where they came from. As far as numerology goes, Roshar's number is actually 10.
  22. I always assumed that the Sibling was at the same level as the Stormfather/Nightwatcher, a step above Cusicesh.
