How does Odium Splinter other Shards?
Haradion Drogon replied to Senor Feesh's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I assumed that splitering was the direct result of killing the shardbearer - or that it resulted in the death of the shard-bearer. But that is clearly not the case, since Leras died without splintering Preservation, and Endowment is regularly splintering herself, while still living... Do we know what effects Splintering has on the Shardbearer?- 28 replies

Regional Magic and Dominion
Haradion Drogon replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
An interesting thought... The AonDor is born of the combined power of Devotion and Dominion - I wouldn't be surprised if it is the part of Dominion that controls that. I suspect it is due to the cognitive perception of these borders that make the magic dwindle. I am wondering though - how useful does this make magic in wars? DakHor (Is that it? The other magic system?) doesn't seem limited by where it is practised, and neither is ChayShan? Hmm... -
(crypitc spoilers) Making up Death Rattles.
Haradion Drogon replied to Edgedancer's topic in Stormlight Archive
"I see Him. The One who walks between the stars... His name is hidden, cast aside... Weaver of light and breather of life... How can a mere man hold such power? How can a man walk among broken Gods?" "The Oathpact... Are we all subject to it? A Sacrifice to shield the rest of creation? Stormfather... Defend us! The Broken One Comes!" Cosmere: "The Almighty's brethren! They fight among the stars! Among the colours, She lingers, slowly breaking herself... Among the metals They clash... slowly breaking the world... Gods! Shattered Power! Why have you brought more pain! Almighty, why doom others in your conflict? -
You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Haradion Drogon replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
When you spend your days reading this instead of doing the revision for your final exams... Hmm... Oh... -
How about this? Duplication is a must! The Eye of Duplication The Eye of Animation The Eye of Transformation The Eye of Transportation (Vanishes) Perhapes if you wish to make an Eye protect an object from manipulation, you could create an Eye of Negation? And its oposite? An Eye that reverts back to its previous form? That Which Destroys/Removes That Which Protects That Which Changes That Which Reverts (Removes Duplicates) You have a nice duality there... I sense a lot of Hiest style writting here... I don't know what kind of story you are planning but it sounds like the making of copies, forgeries, smuggling, disguising etc could be extremley useful. Vanish a barrel of flamable oil, and have a portable flamethrower. Create copies of gold ingots you can vanish from a distance. Endless fun here. Please, tell me more of the story?

Cosmere Monopoly (Now Cosmere Domination)
Haradion Drogon replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Creator's Corner
For the trains, I feel Four Shardpools might be appropriate. Well of Ascension , Pits of Hathsin, Pool of Elantris and The Purelake? Utilities could be Moon Sceptre and Lerasium? Two utilities Hoid has? Houses should be Splinters, Hotels should be "Shards" That way, you are taking the power and "Investing" Worlds? -
Hmmm... I like this. Though in my head, it is more of an "Essence Capture." You "Capture" the Essence of an object, allowing its identity to be manipulated. Releasing the essence causes the item to revert back to its previous state. Keywords with Capitals, would be - Essence - Capture - Release - State - Identity - Revert ? I think it might be best to have two or three different types of "Eyes", rather than soley three. Having only three makes the magic rare, and might creature problems for the story? I like the terminology however. The Eye is the window to other object's soul. The Idea of an Eye that completely Vanishes an object from existence sounds interesting, it could be used for storage or transportation? How big a thing can you vanish? A wagon of arms? A Warehouse of food? A ship? A greatsword? A suit of armor? The possibilities are interesting for concealment? The idea of an "Add" Eye sounds a little redundant though. In order for it to be that distinct from the change Eye, it would need to be extremely overpowered. Perhaps there could be an Eye which forcibly undoes the changes made by other Eyes? In all, I like the system, though I think it is quite limited with just the three sphere... A hundred spheres, belong to a cult or priesthood of three distinct types might be an interesting thing to work with. Also, I would shrink the size of the Eyes slightly. Maybe the size of a fist? Ever seen Pokemon? The size of one of those balls perhaps? Perhaps (if you go with more eyes) you coul have them of various sizes, with the larger sphere capable of greater feats, or removing/changing more than one object at the same time?

Queston/Theory: Corruption of Text [Mistborn Spoilers]
Haradion Drogon replied to Halabalabash's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Theocracy ended when the Priests were found to be changing their texts to suit their own beliefs... What if they weren't? What if that was Odium's sabotage? -
Do they manipulate the Metal with Magnetism, or with a telekinetic style force? I think you could do a bit by having something weird happen with the magnetic metals... Also, I like the idea of metals in general being manipulatable. As for the gaining power riddle... Drugs is an option. What if there was a creature, which used metal to coat its shell/body as a natural defence? Drawing the metal from its surrounding area to make sharper claws, armour, shells etc. The drug could be derived from that creature somehow? A Serum? A Parasite-relationship? You also have to think about how this would affect the world... I can imagine plating would become an easy method of construction? Are certain metals more difficult to manipulate? For example, as a metal gets denser, it becomes more difficult to manipulate? You have some really cool ideas!

Is The Black Prism any good? I have seen it recommended a few places... -
I like Wyndle...

I... Actually really like this theory. If one of them became "corrupted" by Odium, I can easily see this taking shape. I like this as a theory - though it remains to be seen if it is true.

Thats... interesting... I can easily imagine a mad noble with a lover who dies... desperate to "resurrect" her... Man though - that is extremely creepy. At a guess though, I would say that a Kandra imitated a human doesn't get every internal organ right. Furthermore, I highly doubt they would alter their DNA. I suspect a Kandra would be unable to conceive with a human. Its a creepy thought though - and an extremely interesting idea... I am still holding my breath for a Kandra-Misting in the future stories.

I get the same thing...

Hmm... My Intent would be Unity. The Magic system involves becoming part of a hivemind, The only time they use their magic is when they are all in consensus, resulting in huge, reality manipulating magical bursts, for brief periods of time and constand mental argument the other half of the time. Side affects include enhanced brain power, strength and agelessness, when connected to the Hive. It is impossible to severe the connection, once implemented, without the influence of another shard. The Shards Intent is to one day unify the entire cosmere. In a kind of hyrbid between "Spread Peace, Widsom, Hope and Democracy" and "We Are the Borg". Hmm... Actually... this is an interesting system. I might use this.

Aluminum cancelling Emotional Alomancy
Haradion Drogon replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Mistborn
Perhaps you could heal yourself of Investiture damage? Say Hemalurgy (Sp?) stole your ability to burn Steel, but didn't kill you outright? By Burning enough Aluminium, one could repair that damage, and regain the ability? Alternatively, since Investiture seems to require "Cracks" in the Soul, to be filled with Something else - eg, the Nahl, bond, perhaps burning Aluminium might sever that bond? This might be useful if you were unwilling, for example Ruin's influence, or an Odium spren, bonding without consent? Perhaps it might repair the Spiritweb in someway? I don't know if we have seen any magic systems where that is useful... I have heard rumours of an unpublished Magic System, involving diseases. Alluminium - if you could burn it - might cure you of one of those? I am not sure... Chromium sounds much more useful - and is a reason why I would be a Leacher Misiting. -
Crackpot Theories Possible Mistborn Trilogy 2-3 Plots
Haradion Drogon replied to Moash's topic in Mistborn
I don't think we can plan ahead for the Final Trillogy, especially is it would seem to be far more Cosmere Focused than the previous two. The Idea of a Scardrial World War, is definitely something i could get behind though. -
Another World Hopper! Fantastic!
-
I suspect his actions will end up unifying the world against him, bringing together others, so that they have something to fight against. Zero requiem style, if any one has seen Code Geass.
-
I suspect it will be Adolin. He is suspiciously void of surge binding powers, and we have seen his anger, at the end of WOR.

Lighteyes suck at apologising... (some spoilers)
Haradion Drogon replied to ChocolateRob's topic in Stormlight Archive
I must admit, when reading WOR, I was becoming increasingly annoyed the with the Light-Eyes. Kaladin's own predjudice against Lighteyes was disheartening to see - since he had experienced so much himself, but at the same time, was justified. I just wanted to bang the character's heads together. "YOU HAVE MUCH BIGGER PROBLEMS PEOPLE!" :Sigh: Still. I can't wait to see how this will progress as the series goes on. I suspect the Radiant's - i.e. Kaladin, Dalinar and Shallan, will become closer as they try to understand their powers, and the social barriers will start to degenerate as time goes by. I think there will be some more friction when Kaladin returns to his home - now a lighteye, but I think it will be interesting to watch the groups mingle and change as the apocalypse nears... -

Theory on forming the Nahel Bond, Intent, and Squires.
Haradion Drogon replied to lichie's topic in Stormlight Archive
I recall that there were others on bridge four. I interpreted Lopen's scene as meaning he was a new Radiant. Was there an order dedicated to teaching that could fit with what Lopen has been up to. -
Thank you. Have done so. Hopefully he will find some time after his tour to send those. Thanks for your help.
