  1. There are no role scans so there's little reason for him not to use his Forger abilities. It would have been so easy for him to try killing Thaid or I D1. D2, e!TJ doesn't need to lurk because he doesn't really care about the results other than saving Illwei, so he could just move an early vote instead. If he wanted a tie on villagers, he could have made that happen. D3 he shouldn't have trusted 3-2 would be safe for shadow.
  2. The vanilla cake image after self-tagging. Had Baker claimed in the doc D2 or earlier, it would be easy for E!lantrian to claim a null result. Since they apparently didn't, it's a risk. I will note that the shortlist in our doc N3 was Baker, TJ, Tani, JNV, with the first two preferred. Just that an E!lantrian, knowing they had to submit a kill and be able to claim a scan target, could have claimed Baker took no action and hoped for the best. To everyone, had any of Tani, JNV, or TJ claimed roleless in a doc?
  3. I'd like to have a 4:3:2 situation that only becomes a tie if TJ is a real Forger just so we don't lose a bunch of people if he's for some reason lying. I'm pretty sold on one elim within [Bort, Tani, JNV] since TJ knows he'll be exed next cycle if he's not a Forger. I'm not sure why you think Tani claiming to have scanned Baker helps clear the Fjorden Elantrian.
  4. It's not worth killing Baker today because they're only evil as part of a five person team. If the fourth elim dies and the game doesn't end I'd look at Baker again. Neither of the other two scans produced useful results. I would not clear Bort from doc interactions, and will end up voting for one of [Tani, JNV, Bort] in no particular order.
  5. From my D2 post. Since then, suggests that his Illwei vote D2 was to give Mat and I a chance of survival. N2 was suspicious of Striker for making a :00 vote for a second time on the village counterwagon and argued with Mat about it, confirmed vig=kill role, listed top three suspicions as Striker, Tani, Aman, clarifying he saw Aman's posts as reminiscent of the MR. D3 continued his suspicions of Striker after TJ pointed out incorrect wording. N3 he roleclaimed, was suspicious of TJ and Baker. Again questioned the assumption of four elims.
  6. I do think it would be risky for an elim to push v!Aman this strongly since he's hard to exe especially after two consecutive votes on elims, but 'reluctant' support is a great place for them. Last hour TJ push from nowhere, here we go.
  7. Aman's first involvement in Illwei's death was voting here: Devotary of Spontaneity (5): JNV, Matrim's Dice, The Sibling, Amanuensis, Araris Valerian Matrim's Dice (4): StrikerEZ, Illwei, Kasimir, |TJ| Illwei (2): The Baker, Bort StrikerEZ (1): shadow1 making it Devotary of Spontaneity (4): JNV, Matrim's Dice, The Sibling,Araris Valerian Matrim's Dice (4): StrikerEZ, Illwei, Kasimir, |TJ| Illwei (3): The Baker, Bort, Amanuensis StrikerEZ (1): shadow1 This is ~ 1 hour before rollover. Neither Illwei nor Striker were in any significant danger, and only become threatened because Aman's shift put things closer to tie range. Aman already has v!credit from voting Archer D1. I don't see the elims purposefully killing their roleblocker when they're so close to (presumably) two village deaths.
  8. Archer (4): Amanuensis, shadow1, Experience, Devotary of Spontaneity, Kasimir Thaidakar the Ghostblood (3): Matrim's Dice, The Baker, |TJ| Devotary of Spontaneity (2): StrikerEZ, Araris Valerian Experience (1): Thaidakar the Ghostblood Amanuensis (1): Archer llwei (2): The Baker, Tani Devotary (1): Amanuensis Matrim's Dice (1): Kasimir StrikerEZ (1): Araris Valerian Araris Valerian (1): StrikerEZ Less sure on this one. Araris was definitely village, I think Mat is, Striker's still out there. I think Illwei would have been in favor of claiming if Fjorden and Arelon are clean, though stated opinions and actual desires can differ. Did that discussion happen prior to when the members of Fjorden and Arelon were known anyone in the Rose doc? Going down that route suggests TJ or Bort or possibly shadow and I don't know if I want to go down that route. TJ couldn't have saved Illwei C2 unless one of Mat, Aman, shadow, Striker is evil and that would look quite suspicious. I don't think killing Araris is helpful for a team that has Tani. Sibling suspicion hasn't gone away but I don't think this is the best time to go for low actives.
  9. I was feeling better about Mat by then so I would have voted for one of Illwei, Striker, or Bort (had he been an option). Bort's vote for Illwei looks pretty good so I wouldn't kill him. I'm still not sure about Striker. I would be fine with Tani or Sibling being killed. I think it's likely more than one elim voted D1 even though Archer wasn't in serious danger until an hour before rollover.
  10. Voting for villagers is just how it goes sometimes. Voting for the people you find suspicious helps everyone get a better read of you overall I think, even if a single vote can give the wrong impression. Why do you think I would have been fine with Illwei and I both dying as an elim? What role do you think e!me could possibly have? Neither Archer nor Illwei would have died were I an elim Forger. As a Monk, killing someone N1 prevents that kill from being lost. I gladly would have died for Archer or Illwei with anything less.
  11. Mat has a shortlist of Bort, TJ, Baker, Striker, and then Sibling and Orlok as low actives. I can see Sibling's vote for me as potentially being intended to save Illwei since it came at Devotary of Spontaneity (4): JNV, StrikerEZ, Amanuensis, Araris Matrim's Dice (3): Kasimir, Illwei, |TJ Illwei (2): The Baker, Striker but it's not critical danger since Tani had unvoted seven minutes before. Mat thinks Illwei-Tani interactions aren't e-e but e!Tani voting Araris, switching to Illwei when it turned out her reason for voting Araris applied to them, and retracting once she was in actual danger is plausible. Striker's vote for me had it counted wouldn't have saved Illwei but I think v!Striker who wanted blood and e!Striker counting on that reputation to save him could have done that. Mat being presumably village makes me lean less strongly on e!TJ but I should reevaluate both of those thoughts that since hasn't done anything particularly villagery and also almost got Mat killed.
  12. and 2.5) Archer would have been saved if the cycle had been a minute longer (Striker) Dying in a four way tie would be fun and I don't want to have to defend myself every cycle from the same argument. I would look at Bort if Mat is village and TJ if Mat is elim. I doubt Mat and Illwei are e/e.
  13. I don't know. I think there's a good chance at least one of Mat, Bort, and Striker are evil. I'd be okay with a tie though I'd prefer not to die. No Forgers showed up to save Archer D1 which is a good sign for there not being any on the elim team.
  14. I haven't been able to think about this game for a few days but I should be able to do so now. I still think Kas and I had the same initial reaction to Experience claiming elim, that maybe it's nothing but it's also possible that e!Exp genuinely didn't realize it wasn't a faction game and empire affiliation has nothing to do with alignment. Voting on Exp helps find out which, and bringing up past examples of villagers claiming elim makes it too easy for e!Exp who did make a mistake to just say it was one of those. This is the last I'll talk about this since Experience is confirmed village, except clearly there was a lot of lead time for Archer to tell the Disruptors if claiming elim was supposed to be an April Fool's but then he didn't actually do so until the 2nd. Matrim did say in the empire doc that he thought it was less an organized vote than an idea Aman or Exp coming up with an idea and everybody else going along with it. Bort isn't up for the exe, but since Matrim and I might both die today and leave him as the only member of our doc, I will note his interactions as: Didn't initially realize the doc could not be trusted, specifically for roleclaiming purposes; was fine with claiming as he thought it unlikely there were two elim-free docs and brought up the possibility of five elims, was fine with Mat being the emissary, set up a table for everyone's empire affiliations. D2 he said he didn't have much time for this game, reaffirmed being unconcerned with everyone knowing his empire, told Mat he had a village feel for me. Meanwhile Mat's D2 talk in the doc is making me lean more village on him as not someone who's receiving information from other docs, which is unfortunate given the votes. Technically he could be faking thinking Malkier was as real empire(despite being named after a WoT character), claiming not to know whether Tani and Araris were in Kas's doc, and writing Arelon as Arelene(who are the people, not the country according to Ash) because Kas did, but I don't think he'd be willing to go to those lengths. I can't read much into Illwei's posts, though I do see that he would have voted to save Archer as an elim and she had a similar view as Mat re: empire claiming but is now voting for Mat while sort of defending him.
  15. Can't think today, sorry. I can't see e!Kas bussing a teammate unnecessarily D1, nor would I see his death as productive. I swing wildly back and forth on Mat. Voting for Thaid isn't good but he also keeps making wildly high profile and counterintuitive statements in our empire doc that an elim should be more careful about. What does it mean when he says that he doesn't think the elims are evenly spaced in docs because it was true RNG and then in response to my questioning the chances of it being RNG says that in his experience a 2:1:1:0 distro makes sense? What experience is this? But then he also apparently forgot there were roles in the game at all which would be hard for an elim to forget unless they're all vanilla. Guessing three incorrect NK options is just strange. I'm also looking at Bort I think. More maybe later.
  16. I voted for Archer so as to not die, and because Aman had made enough of a case against him to be worth a vote even if it was just Archer vs. Thaid. I looked at Striker because his posts seemed off but didn't see QF 59 signs so he was tentative not elim. I signed off after voting Archer and haven't really looked at EoD where Striker tried to vote Thaid, but that does sour any village credit. Alarm on Mat for speculating out of the blue that Exp's elim claim was pre-planned and voted on in the empire doc when apparently that's what happened.
  17. You responded to Exp as if you believed he was genuinely claiming elim and then didn't vote, so I did it for you. If I brought up occurrences from past games that would've just given e!Exp convenient excuses to claim he was a villager all along. By not giving a reason everybody else has to come up with their own which might end up being helpful. So far it's just that I do not believe you would push this strongly as an elim.
  18. Experience. Striker's not behaving like he did in recent elim games and also doesn't have any votes. I don't know much about Thaid. Not behaving the same as in other games sure. I'd like Archer to be evil. That would be convenient with the votes as they are. I do think Aman is more likely village than Archer since they're in contention, even though e!Aman would want to speak for his faction. Roleclaiming in docs isn't a good idea but withholding thoughts and suspicions for fear of alerting an elim doesn't help anything. I'm just going to vote Archer for today and maybe think later if I live.
  19. You just have a better memory than me. I didn't think of Exp as that type of player, but having looked through some of the 156 pages of content I do see an elim claim as a villager in BT1. More of a possibly forgetting the rules and the sense that the only way this could possibly be helpful as a village move is if it's brought up. Why would that be your assumption? You think four other people said yes, let's have one of our members claim elim and see what happens when presumably the villagers in that doc would have no idea as to Exp's real alignment?
  20. Gears had a pattern of behavior, Illwei I blieve was expressing discontent, and Meerkat had mechanical backing. I don't remember Experience doing anything like this before and just a claim achieves little but set up an IKYK of the type that I hear you like to resolve directly.
  21. I don't think a single emissary can ever be completely objective even if they are village. There will always need to be some interpretation and hence room for misinterpretation, deliberate or otherwise, so we'll at some point end up with members of an empire contradicting their emissary, or I guess everyone in a doc voting on the exact words an emissary will use to reflect their empire's opinion. Experience, for claiming elim. It's hard to believe an elim would do this but I also don't see a good reason for this to come from a villager.
  22. Well the options are elims in 3-4 docs = they know every villager's empire allegiance, elims in 2 docs they know ~1/3, all elims in one doc they know 0 or 1/14, if it's four elims. Five elims are more likely to know everyone but know a lower percentage if they don't. It's that the docs probably are already not secret to the elims. Knowing who's in a doc is less important than knowing what's happening, so emissaries only make sense if everyone else from that doc is willing to step up and combat incorrect or misleading interpretations. True RNG is I think more likely to give an even distribution than Ash handpicking it, since the latter can just decide to mix things up while RNG doesn't care. I don't know what the odds are of an even distribution of four elims given RNG are though.
