  1. Nothing's happened so double-posting to go back to Tani so I don't die. vote=Tani
  2. Looks like the cycle ends 2 hours later than I thought it did. I don't really think Tani is evil but anything else would require me to buy a bribe and I'm not feeling too bad about TUN, Stick, or Clanky. I do lean elim on Mat for real, non-monetary reasons but that's not viable. His last post reads as if he knows Tani is village, and his opinions of Stick make it seem like he knows her alignment too. I guess I can switch as many times as I want though so vote=Matrim
  3. I imagine Archer, TUN, and anyone else using the self-vote strategy would change their votes if they were at risk, so it's not that suicidal. Money isn't valuable if you're dead after all, even if one extra boxing is worth squeezing out if it looks like you might not die. Let's see who's willing to spend money just to kill me. Vote=Tani
  4. Only the richest villager's bids matter in this situation since they can afford the most and a bunch of lesser bids are irrelevant and wasteful. Even if failed bids didn't cost money it would be wasting actions. Of course, you can never be sure that the richest person is a villager, or is even the richest since they may have spent money. Failed bids costing money is in the clarifications. Does your money get spent if your bid isn't accepted? Yes. Bid wisely. You're not getting any boxings from voting for me since JNV voted first. If you want to kill me you can keep your vote here since you don't care about boxings but if you do want me dead you should say so since it doesn't look like that's what you're claiming to want. If you're looking at Flask to see that Luckspren should die you should have noticed the vote count. Edit: Apparently you do want me to die, and you like Archer/JNV/Stick as villagers instead of suspects. Carry on.
  5. TUN was the one who did that and his punishment was made clear in the writeup. The rules don't say anything about anyone starting with boxings. Interestingly, they do mention open PMs even though nobody has messaged me yet. CC is contribution crusade, where you vote for an inactive to get them out of the way/ensure the remaining players have higher activity rates. Voting for JNV as of now is essentially a no-exe since they'll die anyway, which doesn't seem productive. Originally, loudest voice required 200 word responses while active on the floor had no stated specification for response length. I suppose Xino wanted consistency between loudest voice and active on the floor since there's significant overlap. Adding in an extra 150 words of padding isn't necessarily helpful for us either. My tendency of voting late will be unhelpful monetarily in this game. Vote=Matrim has made two posts that I haven't wanted to quote even though I haven't checked him off the active on the floor list. A lack of respondable content is somewhat notable given the flimsy reasons for this posts two quotes. Him being the only unvoted for player other than me, Luckspren (new), and JNV (absent) is more relevant though.
  6. The fact that failed bids still cost boxings and bodyguards don't do anything if the buyer isn't attacked will make it difficult to ensure accountability. An elim who bribes or assassinates someone can claim to have bought a bodyguard and there won't be conclusive evidence either way as to whether they're telling the truth. I do agree with assassins who manage to kill elims claiming since it's easy enough to amass 8+ boxings in one cycle to afford a bodyguard if we let them win loudest voice. Hmm, I can see that. If that player is a villager rich enough to outbid the elims that could work, even though they'll either end up dead (since they can't self-protect while buying an assassin) or the elims will pointedly choose not to kill them. That shouldn't be much of a long-term issue since the game will be short and I can't see anybody being trusted unless one of the presumptive two elims are dead. If the NK blocks assassination, definitely not a good idea.
  7. "An interesting strategy," stated Amoon. "Flawed," Ziel mused, frowning. "McCarty's plan deprives him of a chance to earn boxings. He stands to earn one boxing at most, and that by throwing away his chance of affecting the impeachment proceedings." "He sacrifices his own wealth to strike a blow against his enemies. You would do the same." "I know who our enemies are. We will shatter the power of the nobility and cast down their houses to the abyss they should have been condemned to when this land was forged anew. McCarty cannot tell friend from foe, for he has made the world his enemy." Amoon tilted her head. "Perhaps he shares our goal. Yoren's killer is unknown." "Hmm. Our allies from the Outer Basin have made their presence known. If McCarty truly is sympathetic to our aims, I will be sure not to kill him." "We are preparing to kill then." "Our primary goal is ensuring that none who are removed from office get replaced by yet more nobles seeking to extend their 1300 year legacy of tyranny. Yet those who refuse to relinquish power in the face of overwhelming opposition may need to be addressed with lethal measures." Amoon nodded. "I am your weapon." Definitely don't want to announce who's getting the bodyguard since then the elims can just not target that person and have them waste 5+ boxings. Bribery might warrant more discussion, but either nobody will want one since the exe is out of reach or it will be contentious since the people on all sides of the split votes will want one and can't be convinced otherwise or else they'd have changed their vote without the bribe. Designating someone as an assassin to kill a selected target might work so long as that player can't just buy a bodyguard to protect themselves. It is strange that both assassination and the elim kill block vote manipulation. @xinoehp512 is a killed player's vote also cancelled?
  8. @xinoehp512, are boxings still lost if you bid for something you can't afford? Say you bid for an assassin counting on the winnings from loudest voice and then someone beats you so you end up with fewer than nine boxings, are those all wasted even though your bid doesn't count? Test Test It only shows me as responding to one person last time I did a double quote so let's try again. Maybe responding to the same person twice in one post was what messed it up.
  9. I will sign up as Ziel, last scion of Lekal, who will bring down the noble houses if it kills her. Test test Growing up in a family styling itself as Governor Innate's political rivals had been a valuable experience. While the other noble families fought each other for scraps, Ziel had been raised to seek power in its entirety. Many relatives advocated for eliminating the senate and governor entirely and replacing them with an Emperor Lekal, ruling with the backing of the noble houses like in the days of the Last Emperor's rule. Even the most ambitious acknowledged that nobody could replicate the Lord Ruler's 1000 year reign, so Ziel would of course have to continue the Lekal line to create a dynasty that could match such a feat. After exhausting dozens of prayers to Harmony that went just as unanswered as the millions upon millions of similar prayers that had been addressed to him over the centuries, Ziel came up with a different plan. She would work with the Outer Basin, the elected Senators and their constituents, and one rogue Kandra to put an end to the nobility's power. House Lekal would die with her, but not before every other house went up in flames. We'll get someone to play who you remember. It's actually a conspiracy to get you exed C1 for the 3rd time in a row. vote=TUN.
  10. Edited the initial post to include tags, a player list and doc links. There's always going to be some amount of factions choosing which side wins, but in a larger game it will be more difficult to know for sure how many Cryptics and Honorspren are left. What rules for deadeyes are preferable? In this game I ruled against punctuation, and I'm inclined against using color and formatting as well. Roles didn't get used as much as I was expecting them to, were there any that people didn't like or wanted changed? I also don't know if faction specific roles should be kept as there wasn't much of people trying to prove their faction with their roles.
  11. The Wandering Wizard has been executed! He was an Enlightened Emissary! Kasimir has been killed! He was a Social Martyr Honorspren! Vote Count: Wizard (3): Archer, Kas, Symphonium Archer (1): HOID, Wizard Kas (1): The Cryptics have won! Congratulations to @SymphonianBookworm, @Archer and @The Unknown Novel. Thank you to @Elbereth and @Tani for helping me run this game. Everyone please give suggestions for how to improve this game if run as an MR with 48 hour cycles. Vote Count: Xino (4): Mat, Wizard, Archer, Kas Kas (1): Symphonium (0): Xino Cycle 3 has begun! There is an execution this cycle with no vote minimum and random ties. The cycle will end on June 18th at 0400 GMT. Player List:
  13. An elim being a defector has no mechanical effect, it just means they get to be a defector. Defectors can have another role, which is based on the doc they're in. Every emissary has a PM with another emissary.
  14. A player who is attacked and survives is informed, a player who was targeted by a roleblocked kill is not. Edited in the vote tally.
  15. The Unknown Novel has been executed! He was an Amorphous Cryptic. Someone was attacked, but survived! Cycle 2 has begun! There is an execution this cycle with no vote minimum and random ties.
