  1. 1.How does singers tell time by attuning to Peace? 2. Is the process of Awakening similar to Soul stamp?
  2. In Row, when Zahel is explaining about himself to KAL, the way he talks about the Awakening process is similar to how Shai explains creation of a Soul Stamp in Emperor's Soul. So I was wondering if Endowment is actually Awakening people with the same process but with her own methods coz as a shard She can understand a soul much better than any human like Shai could ever and thus create an almost exact copy of the original Soul.
  3. I have a theory that Sibling is a group of spren looking like the oathgate platform sprens. Head spren among the siblings of oathgates. And not sibling in the sense of sibling of Stormfather and Nightcrawler. During Thaylen City battle, Odium instructs destruction of city Oathgates and it's gem stones be brought back to him. He also says with the gemstones they can rebuild the oathgates at a different location. So my theory is that Sibling is slumbering somewhere inside a perfect gemstone and it is that gemstone that has to be brought in touch with HP by a Bondsmith.
  4. So glad Yalb survived. One of my fav. Character from Wotk. I hope Rysn' ship Wandersail doesn't loose it's crew as Sleepless cook from Kaza' ship is likely to get involved. The novella name and with the information from new release chapters of RoW, a Dawnshard is definitely confirmed to be in Aimia and access to it could be the reason humans have done much better in the war against Odium than previously thought possible.
  5. Waiting for Adolin to appear and divulge to Shallan on a serious note about a serious conversation he had with Syl, coming to him for fashion advice and how good a friend he is to Kaladin for taking care of these kind of things.
  6. Last we heard Kaladin's ex gf back from Amaram' army was in the same town as the Mink was in OB. I wonder if she is one of the refugees.
  7. I didn't like the new fused mentioned in chapter 1 appearing to fight kaladin. The beard mentioned made me think about Gavilar. Obvious misdirection or coincidence?
  8. When the group was onboard honorspren ship in Shadesmar, kaladin makes windspren appear on shadesmar which never happens. Now I'm thinking that ability is of supreme importance, kal can make wind (air) appear in vaccum. Might be useful in space travel in later arcs.
  9. As per below Wob: So if Endowment is half terror half laughter, and Nightblood turned out to be a failed experiment like this coz of the Intent of Endowment. If the experiment has to be done right and to actually "Destroy Evil", the intent of the shard used to create the sword should be Honor. Maybe that's why Zahel is here? What do you guys think?
  10. I got Truthwatcher. And interestingly my alignment list almost coincides with my favourite list of characters in their order.
  11. Unite them as in " Odium and Cultivation" imo. Merging Cultivation with Odium could be how O's power can be kept in check and could be the Ultimate reason why these two Shards came to Roshar in the first place since they knew Rayse would come looking for them.
  12. The aspect of seeing the future makes a major impact on the life of a Shard. Some shards have better future vision than others. Then wouldn't that make the "father/mother" of all Shards the ultimate future vision with the powers of all Shards within? With that logic Adonalsium must have let the shattering happen. Ado knows it doesn't matter if it gets shattered, Ado knew Hoid wouldn't take part in the shattering, even if You'd himself didn't know at that time that he would refuse. Hoid wouldn't have the weapon if he wasn't planning on taking part in the shattering. So hoid had a change of heart by himself which Ado knew so He let the shattering happen.
  13. It's Salas. I thought you guys were correcting me regarding Silver Kingdom city. Thanks.f If the case is indeed like @Jofwu says, like a person standing on Shinovar would see the moons at the same time as a person seeing them from Shattered plains as people throughout the series signifies this by calculating the timings using the passing of these moons. Day and night happens rue to rotation of the planet in relation to the Sun. So on Roshar, the moons appear every night at specific timings. What if they were geostationary? Would that explain it? Their speed of rise and set individually could be explained by the distance at which they are placed maybe ? Or my other theory is that, since the land mass of Roshar is in the S.Hemispere, maybe the 3 moons would have been visible at the specific timings at night, if there was land in the N.Hemisphere would the moons be visible during the day? Also from what I understand, Roshar system was made by ADO prior shattering. So the whole Roshar system was made "naturally". So what would make the moons "artificial", that should mean it has to be made by someone other than ADO. And with the colouring specific for the moons is the reason I suspect Honor did it. Our moon glows because sunlight is reflecting off it. So why does these moons have special colours? Maybe these moons are reflecting Honor's part of visible spectrum. Well green is a mix of blue and yellow....so mishim being green is because Cultivation took a hand in making it as well. I also noted something else https://coppermind.net/wiki/File:Shadesmar_(TWoK).jpg ....in the colour artwork showing the map of Shadesmar, the frame of the picture shows a woman in the centre of the four sides with arms flung out. So top half of the picture is all blue colours (violet , indigo and blue) of the visible light and bottom half is yellow ( yellow, orange and red) colour of visible light. Green appears lightly at the point where blue and yellow meets. Maybe North part of the landmass is where Honor is concentrated and South to Cultivation? Also in the Cognitive Realm we see a sun and shadows pointing towards it...is it the actual Sun of Roshar we see? If it is the actual sun, then why are the moons not visible in Shadesmar? Do you guys think there is significance ?
  14. Coppermind "Selas". Regarding Cusicesh as long as it's plausible I'm whooping with joy....my one good theory etc... Have you ever seen a post or theory with possible color spectrum connection? At first my mind went to the effect of highwater and lowwater of tides being connected to the moons and how Cusicesh could be showing up on the physical realm when the three moons go pasts the horizon creating a see-saw effect maybe due to gravity along the lines of Surges etc....still thinking on it actually
  15. I am just trying to find some connection with this wishful thinking I guess. So we know there are 3 moons on Roshar. Selas, Nomon and Mishim. We also know they were placed there artificially. So through Investiture. Then where are their Spren? Selas - Violet. ( Name similar to Silver Kingdom named Selatales. Most probably Honor's Perpendicularity is in Silver Kingdom of Selatales. Also nearby Purelake.) Nomon- Pale blue. Mishim- Green We know that when white light passes through a prism, a Spectrum is formed usually abbreviated to VIBGYOR. Violet Indigo Blue Green Yellow Orange Red. Yellow Orange We'd seems to be Cultivation' sector is spectrum. The sky appears to be blue coz of the VIB part of white light refracts less. So we notice all three moons share the first half of the spectrum associated with colours. So my guess is, blue is the colour of Honor and so all three moons were placed by Honor himself. I am assuming for some specific reason. On earth, moon causes the rise and fall of tidesat seabecause of gravity. So what function do these 3 moons serve? We also know that the three moons has a fixed schedule on Roshar. Appearing at particular times respectively one after the other. I also suspect Cusicesh to be the Spren of Nomon. Appearing at the time the moon is over the horizon and not visible during day. So Cusicesh could be coming after Nomon sets. This could explain why he looks towards the Origin towards East as that is the only direction he knows as maybe everyday he starts from West and moves towards East. So he could be compass pointing East. When the moon is close to the planet then spring tide happens on earth, when the moon is at Quadrant, Neap tide happens on Earth Similarly if my guess is correct regarding Cusicesh, then the comes to signify maybe lowtide in Roshar or something, appearing the moment Nomon sets at the Origin. What do u guys think? P.S. this theory could already have been put our there, I'm not sure .
  16. I think Purelake was a mountain before. Imagine this a very distinct stone mountain more long than tall. Probably like Mt Kailash of Nepal. Like a man lying on his back but his legs bent at knees. More long than tall. Imagine this distint mountain is Honor's Perpendicularity (a peak). Now for a very specific purpose this whole Stone mountain was cut with a shardblade and the major part was transported to someplace else. And if this area was filled with water, that's Purelake. Hence " Purelake is even throughout with water reaching roughly a man's knees. Now where the cut section was removed to is related to Urithiru and how East wall of Urithiru is flat as if cut by Shardblade. A mountain Spren would be very huge and would not move from its position as it sees itself as immovable. Urithiru Spren Sibling is supposed be a Spren of Stone. The Oathgates could be made with sections of this mountain stone. And when Oathgates activates it's something like invoking Honor's Perpendicularity there. That's the reason HP could be said to move around. Also an eye of the storm is said to be very calm part on earth with drizzle like rain etc. So the "Purelake is next to Honor's Perpendicularity" could mean HP is all around the Purelake which explains the weather of Purelake during highstorm and lack of crem is due to the water is being fed into the storms but getting replenished hence build up of crem not possible. Magical fish is because of this magical water replenishing itself.
  17. Something has been bugging me. Urithiru is built such a way that the Eastern side I think is flat. As though cut by shard blade. So that got me thinking, what else do we know that is huge and is perfectly flat? My answer is Purelake which is described as water reaching up to a man's knee throughout. So my guess is the whole section is carved out with a huge shardblade, maybe by Honor himself, then that carved out section is then transported and made to stand vertical, transformed through Surges to make Urithiru as we know it. Prior to cutting the mountain block ,it could have been a mountain with a small peak but great length like Mt Kailash of Nepal, so that once stood up vertical after getting cut the shape would resemble the present shape of Urithiru. Wider at base and narrower as height increases. Since the mountain is huge stone, makes sense the Spren of Urithiru is a Spren of Stones. Maybe Honor's Perpendicularity is in that small strip of land in present Makabakam, north of present day Purelake on the map. The cut section was later filled with water making it the Purelake as we know it today.
  18. Sibling is not sibling to Stormfather and Nightwatcher. Sibling is the head sibling among the siblings of "Stones" ....these are gemstones which contains the Oathgates...each Oathgate has 2 siblings. So 2 times ten Oathgates, 20. Plus ten platforms of Urithiru. That's another 20. Plus the head Spren of Urithiru. Total 41 Spren make the Sibling.
  19. We know that Oathgates of Shinovar doesn't come up on a map. It could mean the Shin places and even capital of the country are kept out of the records intentionally. Or it could be that they don't have a standing fixed Oathgate. We know Oathgate Sprens are contained in gemstones. So the Shin may be using the gemstones to construct the Oathgate at convenience . Maybe they are a nomadic people. We know that before Szeth was declared Truthless they asked the "Spirit of Stones". That could be the Oathgate spren. Who confirmed Radiants are not back in Urithiru as their sibling "Sibling" ( Spren of Stone) is still sleeping. If the Shin stones are asked even now, they might still say Knight Radiants are not back as the Sibling is still slumbering. This could be the reason they refuse to join the Coalition of Dalinar. So physically going there might be the key. The Shin seeing a Radiant. Which Szeth can deliver for Dalinar. This is more proof of Sibling being 'siblings among gemstones of Oathgates and Urithiru'.
  20. First of all, I am not very knowledgeable about Shards in general, I have pondered here and there. We know that once the 16 Shards after being picked up, made a kind of agreement to 1. 2 shards shouldn't settle in one system. 2. Shards will keep away from each other. There could be more agreements but I'm not aware. So we know of many breaches to the agreement above from what we have read in Mistborn and Stormlight series, also on smaller other works. So to the main topic. We know Shards Honor and Cultivation settled on the Rosharan System which has 3 planets. Ashyn, Braize and Roshar. This system was already in place as it was made by ADO. So my question. Did Honor and Cultivation go settle in Roshar from the start? My theory is that no. Maybe Cultivation was in Ashyn and Honor was in Braize. Roshar itself was already made by ADO and had life there as maybe crem. Maybe a young sentient life. But mostly it was stone. So to continue my theory we can imagine the Shards as their vessels or Avatar. Cultivation was in Ashyn. Hers is the surges. Then Odium came looking and Cultivation knew she wasn't powerful enough to fight against him alone causing her to panic and flee. But then Honor agreed to help fleeing Cultivation by trying to hold off Odium so that she can shelter in Roshar. But Honor got wounded but managed to trap Odium in Braize thus leaving Ashyn completely under the influence of Odium. This later caused the destruction of Ashyn once Odium became God there alone. Meanwhile Cultivation induced a lot of Investiture by her presence in Roshar. Later joined by a weakened and deteriorating Honor. They then mutually agreed to keep fighting Odium together with Honor making sure that he doesn't die in vain using his remaining power to set up various precautions against Odium namely Sprens, Unity (Spren of Roshar maybe), Oathpact, Oathgate, Honor's Perpendicularity, Heralds etc. The Sprens started copying their gods and started doing themselves creating the Knights Radiant. Until Odium started getting powerful enough to corrupt Roshar's magic system causing loss of Investiture and killing Honor finally. Personally I think with Cultivation' future sight she is playing the longer game of waiting than Odium who is like ADD hyper active, who eventhough has future sight is just using it for short term gains. Cultivation is in it for much longer. Sorry about the rambling.

I thought it was said somewhere that the Fused tortures the Heralds. Am I correct?
  22. @Karger I have removed the incorrect part. What about the rest though? We know definitely the voices are trembles of the people Szeth has killed as Truthless. He wasn't a Radiant then. He hadn't even spoken ideal 1. So the only reason he experiences the voices are coz of the Honorblades.
  23. I like this theory. That their death takes them to Braize. With their honorblades. Otherwise it would have been recovered once Taln had fallen during Aharitiem. Many people saw him dying. If his Honorblade was available and not taken and hidden by Shin as with the rest of abandoned Honorblades, there would have been some accounts. The Heralds gave up their Honorblades at that time as they knew that by actually touching the blades are how they are transported. So they made sure to stick it into the ground and leave. That action is the actual abandonment both literally and Symbolically. This also explains how when the other Heralds abandoned the Oathpact, they broke their Oaths as they did something new never before done in previous Desolations. But what they didn't anticipate was eventhough Honorblades was the reason they were transported to Braize, it was also the main reason they can withstand the torture. Hence the reason Taln could withstand it for so along but also why all the Heralds are mad. Different levels of mad depending upon the intent of their betrayal. I mean these were all Heralds. Each broke previously under torture, so they were scared of going back. So if let's say Kalak didn't want back to go coz he is fed up, then will be more mad. But if Ishar' had other reasons he might be less mad as his intent was less dishonourable let's say. @Master Silver @Chaos There is a theory by chaos on the "Intent of a Shard". I think Master Silver's theory on how Honor's Investiture makes him weak can be explained when a Shards' intent is not aligned with the Investiture. We know Investiture increases and is proportional to the stress the person is in that point. One good example is Dalinar in a super stressful situation outside Thaylen City and since his intent was right was able to produce Honor's Perpendicularity with the amount of Investiture.
  24. In these context what does frequency mean? As in could it be related to the amount of Stormlight infused as the unit of power in this magic system is Stormlight. Stormlight is infused in gemstones which are actually 'cultivated' on Roshar. So technically a gemstone which can be infused with Stormlight is actually the result of both Shards' power working in tandem. So same way all Silver Kingdom can be explained by connecting the above dots from previous replies that , all major Silver Kingdom capitals were made for humans by the combined powers of Honor and Cultivation. Maybe with the help of a Dawnshard , possibly. I apologize if it went off topic slightly. Just trying to connect the dots.
  25. From your theory "Then there's good old Szeth. How is he a Surgebinder if he doesn't have a spren? I'm not totally sure, but perhaps his strong oaths as a Truthless provides the sufficient bond for Honor's magic to work. Maybe there does exist a spren. Either way, those oaths are intricately tied with Szeth's Radiant powers. So, I'm calling it right now: if Szeth breaks his oaths, he will lose his powers." I think it has been clarified that Szeth got his Windrunner surges with the use of Jezrien' Honorblade. Szeth has trained in all ten Surges prior becoming Truthless. He trained with all the 8 honorblades Shin have kept hidden from the world. But I'm very interested in all "Oath" related things on Roshar being Honor's Investiture and these things being used with an honourable Intent. We also see Syl questioning Kal as "who were you trying to protect"? As in when he needed the power of Surges for a frivolous use than for actually in need. So 'Oathgates' , 'Oathpact' , Bonds, Connection, Honorblade , all seems to be major Investiture of Honor with Intent. So if the intent for all these is wrong then there is a loss of Investiture. Thus resulting in loss of power of a Shard. This could be the reason how Tanavast could have been weak enough for Rayse to physically injure him. Your theory can also explain just how when Vin' powers magnified with death and became a force of nature thus Honor also when releived of his Physical form, his consiousness went into the Stormfather there by providing Stormlight to everyone on Roshar without bias. The intent comes into play when Shards decide to settle on same planetary system with another one. In Mistborn we saw how important that was with opposing intentions. So similarly in Roshar, when we look at Honor and Cultivation, they decided to occupy a planetary system already created by Adonalsium and had life I guess. Both were not interested in starting new life they just wanted to improve something making it better (Cultivation). I can see Honor and Cultivation agreeing to a Pact to help the people of the land. At first it was the singers and later it became the humans. But later Honor lost his powers as you explained his Investiture was not being used with the right Intent resulting in huge loss of power for a Shard.
