    I (officially) do not approve of Relidan becoming chancellor. It’s not the house I disapprove of, it’s his role. As High Prelan, Relidan has too much connection to the Lord Ruler, and the senate is supposed to be an opposite and balancing force to the Lord Ruler.

    Just finished my Reckoners re-read and wanted to share some thoughts. I thought about making a topic but decided this is fine. Spoilers for a bunch of things, not just Reckoners.

    Tia’s death hit me way harder than it has in the past, that whole scene is CRAZY. Tia getting shot with dozens of bullets accidentally, Prof going crazy and melting the entire building, sending dozens to their deaths, so many other things, it’s just so insane. If Reckoners is ever made into a movie (which it should be, it’s Brandon’s most cinematic series imo, followed by Mistborn Era 2 and Legion. (I just realized those are basically just all of his books with Guns. Guns=Cinematic apparently.)) there’s no way it isn’t Rated R. These scenes are hecking graphic. Really, this is one of Brandons bloodiest series, I think Legion is the only other book that comes close, that scene at the end with all the Aspects being gunned down is brutal. Anyway, Reckoners has some bloooody scenes. Val and Exel getting force-fielded to death, Abraham’s arm getting chopped off, Loophole (minor Epic and antagonist that I always forget about, able to shrink things) growing to full size in a small crack so they literally just....squish. Even the opening scene is a hecking MASSACRE. Deathpoint and his powers are one of the most terrifying things I’ve read in a while. That’s such an amazing scene though, it’s so pivotal to everything. 

    Speaking of pivotal scenes, the climax of book 3 is so good. Larcenies being Calamity is such a good twist, it has just enough foreshadowing for you to notice on a reread, but not enough that you’d see it coming. I do wish we had some more lore on what he is exactly. Some sort of higher lifeform i guess. I did notice that he swears “By the Eternal Sparks” similar to how everyone normally just says “Sparks”. I wonder how those are connected. I really hope we get more Reckoners stuff, but I kinda doubt it.

    It’s 5:30 am and I just spent all night reading Calamity. I just read the entire series in something like 9-10 hours, in 3-4 hour chunks.

    I never got an opportunity to use kingsoul for anything, I immediately went down and voidhearted it XP. Also, completely unrelated, but I like your pfp. No idea what it is, but it’s a very nice color, soft on the eyes. It’s beautiful. Cept I think Hornet would be exactly where NKG is. Also technically the Knight should be perfectly in the center. Being a perfectly empty vessel and all that. The Hollow Knight could be in the center but just barely towards bottom right. Tarnished by an idea instilled.....an idea...of McDonald’s.

    The role’s power isn’t what’s in question, it’s that the lord ruler has too much sway over them. You could threaten to remove their role or something if they didn’t vote how you wanted. Anyway, I expected you to reject these, which is why I am formally asking that someone second them, and we can have the senate vote. if they are seconded well have to just do it here as the chancellor has yet to be formally selected and we don’t have a PM

    Okay, I’m not entirely sure which specific rules these proposals are amending, there’s a lot of crossed wires here. I think the whole senate/chancellor thing needs to be rewritten, even if nothing is actually changed, it’s kinda confusing. I propose an amendment: that if the chancellor has another role that gains them Atium from the Lord Ruler, they may not vote in the senate. If they have no role BUT chancellor, they may vote. This is to ensure that the Lord Ruler has no influence in the senate. I propose an amendment: that if a house has a role that gains them Atium from the Lord Ruler, they may not vote or be in the senate. This is to ensure that the Lord Ruler has no influence in the senate. I propose the New Terminology Rule: I propose that we use the following new terms: If a house is “Brought to Trial” it means another house has “Called for Judgement” against them. The house that was Brought to Trial is the “Defendant” and the house that Called for Judgement is the “Prosecutor”. If the Call for Judgement was dropped by the Prosecutor before the Lord Ruler notices, the Call for Judgement was settled “Out of Court”. I propose the Double Trial rule: if a house is found breaking a rule, and they are Brought to Trial, they may not be Brought to Trial for that rule infraction again, even if the Prosecutor dropped the charges and no official fine was made. (Basically what just happened with Doomstick but official) I propose the Useless One Time Rule: the house who posts the 7th message after this rule is approved (Approval Message-1-2-3-4-5-6-7) must acknowledge this rule, or else they will be fined 30% of all their Atium.

      Pshh oldest has it worse by far. And it’s not because of the extra responsibility. It’s because of all the attention. My parents never leave me alone. They nag me about homework 24/7 and I’m just like “guys, chill, I literally have a 4.0 gpa, I think I’m capable of managing my own schoolwork.”

    I suggest that the High Prelan also count the votes for the chancellor election in a more casual census that will be displayed more frequently. Wait a sec, Relidan can’t even run for Chancellor, wasn’t it the rule that the senate is all players that don’t already have a role? It doesn’t say that in the rules, but I swear that was a thing originally.

    I just quickly skimmed this thread, and I haven’t seen this movie, but if you guys are comparing it to Inception and Interstellar, it’s gotta be good, right? I guess I’ll check it out.

    Oh, are we flexing chair positions? I got 1st chair bass for regionals and I was sightreading the music. we were supposed to have been practicing it for the last 6 months. Granted, it was bass, usually a small section, but there were still like 12 of us, biggest bass section I’ve been in since. moral of the story: never practice, ever. Things will generally just work out. #CoastingOnNaturalTalentNeverComesBackToBiteYouEver
