    RP Idea

So I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a different kind of RP. This was the kind I always used to do with my friends back in elementary. We didn’t call it RP, we were just playing a game, but in hindsight it was really a RP. It’s very similar to DnD style RP, as in, rather than it being Free Form RP like most other RPs on here, it has a narrator, or a DM. Our games were usually not character-based, so that’s another big difference from most games here. Everything else here is very very character heavy. This sort of RP isn’t so much focused on making a story or developing characters, it’s more trying to solve the puzzles the Narrator gives you. Much more Setting based rather than Character or Plot based. They can be plot based, but in that case it usually ends up being that the NPCs are more “characters” in the plot than the actual player characters. Instead of writing paragraphs detailing your characters innermost feelings, you’d spend more time narrating your actions and then waiting to see the results. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in doing something like this, and if you guys think it’d work well in this kind of Forum Format. One major downside is that you could only really play when the Narrator was online, but other than that I think it’d work pretty well. If people are interested I’ll think of a scenario (probably start with something basic like “stranded on a desert island”) and edit the topic and we can do it here.
  2. Excuse me sir, I’m with the Bureau of Sentient Gazebos, we have reason to believe one of our subjects has escaped and is somewhere in this area, have you seen anything? Hm, I’d do it for.....6 bucks.
  3. Excuse me, but I’ve heard you’re the resident fashion expert, could you tell me if this outfit is stylish enough for you to endorse? group of soldiers yelling in perfect unison: NO SIR!.........YES SIR!........UM, MAYBE, ERM, WE ARENT REALLY SURE SIR!
  4. I’m done now It wasn’t too horrible actually. There was a nice breeze. well, it wasn’t really nice. It was a warm breeze. But at least there was a breeze right?
  5. Oh yeah lol 100 degrees C would be boiling water, right? I think I’d literally be dead in 100 C. 100 F is 38 C if I did my math right.
  6. Ugh I wish I was chilly. I’m taking a break from weekly yard work right now and it’s exactly 100 degrees. Mowed 2 lawns so far, gotta trim and blow these 2, then mow trim and blow a 3rd yard. It’s not hard work, but when your living in an oven.....
  7. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm *wins*
  8. Basically the title. I missed out on a lot of the big reveals through spoilers or other accidents. For example, in WoR I was just flipping through the book trying to find my spot (I wasn’t using a bookmark) and I saw the words “Jasnah said” so that was ruined for me. Also, I read Warbreaker after Stormlight, so when Nightblood showed up I didn’t get it at all. I also found out that Zahel and Azure were from Warbreaker before I read it, so my reaction was just “oh, they’re from that one book, okay then”. Also, I read secret history before Bands of Mourning, which is technically fine, but knowing that Kel was alive at all kinda took some punch out of BoM in my opinion. So what about you guys? What were some of your reactions? Which ones were ruined for you? What about some reveals that aren’t even explicitly stated in the books, like Vasher and Vivenna being in Stormlight? Did you figure out it was them while reading? If not, how did you find out, and what was your reaction?
  9. What the crap. I just found an old notebook of mine, and it has a few excerpts of a stories I was apparently thinking about writing, and they’re like, actually good. I have no memory of writing this. Well, I remeber writing it, it was super late one night, but I don’t remember what I wrote. They aren’t like amazing or anything, but these are a lot better than anything I’ve tried to write recently. Maybe I should do more writing late at night and half asleep.
  10. You will notice that in that post I did word it such that we could have multiple Obligators. We could have multiple Obligators, each with different duties. They could be from different Cantons perhaps. Also, I think that becoming an Obligator or Inquisitor should be more of a change, mainly to stay true to the Mistborn world. Inquisitors and Obligators aren’t apart of Houses. They aren’t really Nobles. I think both roles need an overhaul, and it could be quite interesting. Perhaps they can’t make proposals, and the only way they can earn Atium is to do their Role specific duties. We’d need to further define those duties though. Really the whole Role system could be changed for the better.
  11. I propose that the A rule be revoked because it’s stupid. I propose that if the A rule is not revoked, a player may only claim their five Atium by explicitly stating which rule they are invoking. This isn’t explicit. I propose that instead of having a 2 per line Atium penalty for Rejected proposals, we have a 2 per 16 words penalty, rounded down. (So in a 44 word rejected proposal, they’d be fined 4 Atium.) This is because lines can change based on someone’s zoom settings, or based on whether they use mobile or computer. I think this is better than a flat rate because it keeps things interesting and it stays true to the original idea that we’re being fined for wasting the LR’s time. The more time we waste the more we should be fined. The exact numbers in this proposal can be changed at the LR’s discretion. We could have 10 Atium fine per 4 words or something, but the main idea is that the penalty be based on word count.
  12. Noooo don’t do that, it completely breaks mobile.
  13. I propose that the Official Census have player names as well as the house they belong too, once we have multiple people in a house this will be important. Also there are 2 more proposals for house IGHTEJYW, last post previous page. :v Edit: wait never mind, I instead invoke rule 105 and say that the Obligator “omitted players” and should thus be fined. (The census in question has been edittee to have names now, but it didn’t at first.)
  14. I propose that if a player wishes to amend a proposal that has not yet passed, they must get the consent of the person who originally proposed it. If a player wishes to amend a rule that has already been approved, they do not need to do this. If a player gets consent to propose an amendment, and then the original proposal is accepted with that amendment, both players receive Atium, split evenly. If the reward is odd, the remainder goes to the original proposer. If only the original proposal is accepted, only the original proposer gets the Atium. I propose that any bets between players must be seen and approved by an Obligator. If the bet is a game of chance, it is the Obligator’s duty to be sure the chances are fair, or at least proportionate to the bets. In some cases, the Obligator might facilitate the bet. Example: House A bets House B 10 Atium that a coin will land on heads. An Obligator with no ties to House A or B then flips a coin irl. They then report the results in the thread. In a case such as this, where the Obligator actually facilitates a bet, it is recommended that the Obligator be tipped for their services, but this is not required. Obligators may choose whether they wish to facilitate any given bet. If no Obligator wishes to do so, the bet cannot proceed. (This is why you should tip them.)
  15. I propose that all proposed rules must follow 17th shard guidelines. I propose that the Lord Ruler may step down and appoint a new Lord Ruler whenever they wish. The person being appointed must accept the position. The new Lord Ruler may not be the Favored House. The position of the Lord Ruler may only change hands once per week at a minimum. I propose that Mayo be considered, for all intensive purposes, as an Instrument. Anyone insisting otherwise will be Ridiculed and Fined. Perhaps Shunned as well.
  16. Well, your proposal wasn’t exactly the greatest. I mean: What is this, cheapskate hour? I want me some batteries!
  17. Sure, I’ll be your vassal.
  18. My intention was that they could change the LR’s decision on a proposed law, as in, if LR rejects it, but everyone in the Senate (or everyone who isn’t an Obligator, Inquisitor, or Favored House) votes that they want it to pass, the Proposal passes. I guess Judgements could technically be overruled by the Senate too, but you’d be lucky to get a second vote besides yourself, much less a unanimous one. Why would someone else vote to give you your Atium back, this is a competition. .....how is this an amendment, it has nothing in common with my Senate proposal besides the fact that they both use the word “Senate”. tsk, just because I’m poor doesn’t mean I’m out of favor. It just means I’m poor. :v
  19. Oh, I didn’t know dream bosses gave you essence. I tried the Broken Vessel dream fight for a while but figured there wouldn’t be any reward, so I left. I’ll be sure to go smack em real good now. In other news, I finally beat Traitor Lord, I’ve got all the grubs, and I have the pure nail. Seems like things are starting to wrap up, there’s almost nowhere else to go. I think the only blocked path and only area I haven’t been to yet is past the Watcher Knights. I am still missing 1 charm. The 6th one, after Shaman Stone. (Technically missing 1.5, gotta get the other half of the one). Other than that, I’m feeling like things are reaching an end. I know there’s still a ton of stuff to do, but I’ve been everywhere. It’s like, there’s no more Unknown regions. It’s like I’m both proud, and sad. Proud, because I’ve managed to explore this vast region, but also sad, because I have nothing left to discover. No more maps from Cornifer, no more hidden grubs to free, no more Stag Stations. It’s bittersweet ya know? edit: literally 2 minutes after posting this I found Soul Eater. Only .5 charms to go!
