Adding background characters First off is Flin. He's a Steelrunner/Nicroburst, and Tarenwel's half brother. He works for the Set, mostly because he's never done anything else. The Set uses him for fighting Allomancers occasionally, but ignores him most of the time. He's a pretty good logician and extremely sarcastic. Currently he's hunting down Tarenwel. Second off is Selana. She's a Skimmer and a childhood friend of Tarenwel's. Currently she is working with the Terris studies on Spiritual metals. These two might come into play later. I imagine advancements in knowledge on Feruchemical Spiritual metals will be very interesting to Arcanists across the Cosmere... Unless, of course, they've already figured it all out There's also a Lurcher and a Seeker but they're both dead so I won't put them here.

Basically, I'm replacing classical playing card roles with Cosmere ones. This is similar to ideas such as the Mistborn Chess variation and Mistborn Tarot cards, so props to the people who made those. Roshar = Spades Ace: Honor King: Dalinar Queen: Jasnah Jack: Kaladin 10-2: The heraldic numbers. Scadrial = Clubs Era One: Ace: Preservation King: TLR Queen: Vin Jack: Kelsier 10-2: FE Steel Alphabet Numbers Era Two: Ace: Harmony King: Waxillium Queen: Miles Jack: Wayne 10-2: Era Two Steel Alphabet Numbers Sel = Diamonds Ace: Devotion King: Raoden Queen: Shai Jack: Dilaf 10-2: I'm not sure whether there is a numeric rune system we know of on Sel... oh well. Nalthis = Hearts Ace: Endowment King: Vasher Queen: Shashara Jack: Susebron 10-2: Not sure Nalthis has numerical runes either... oh well. Jokers Jokers: Hoid

Not necessarily. I'm not really sure on the Master Sword's powers, but didn't it turn Ganondorf into stone after you stab him in Wind Waker? If so, the MS must have some sort of magic that damages/hurts the enemy.

Wonderful smells waft from the short, white-painted building. A large sign hangs above the entryway, proclaiming the establishment's name and the company slogan, "True baked goods for all!" A sign by the road in the building's parking lot advertises: "Hemalurgy and baking do not belong together! We defy Hemalurgically modified foods!" Inside it looks like a normal bakery, breads, cookies, pies, cakes, pastries, croissants, and other baked goods lined up on shelves in neatly stacked boxes.

why do people only ever carry a few bottles of metals with them
Quickbronze replied to Zape's topic in Mistborn
Oh I always read it that Mistcloaks weren't meant to be armor. They're usually depicted as a bunch of strips sown together at one end to form a loop that goes around the neck, and we know that they flap a lot. If you were designing cloth armor, you would probably make it a vest or something similar. Ya'know, so that it actually covers your vital organs. As for the baseball bat thing, I find it more likely that the person would be thrown back rather then their armor denting, but that depends on several factors such as the strength of both individuals, the quality of the armor, and the exact weight of the bat. -
I exist (well at least I think so)

No ya don't. Ya just have to know about Warbreaker's plot. Don't take any cookies. The main bakery around here hemalurgically spikes their products.

Okay so, as far as we know, there are four secret societies on Roshar; the Sons of Honor, the Skybreakers, the Diagram, and the Ghostbloods. The Sons of Honor want to return the Desolations in order to force humankind to reach it's full potential. The Skybreakers want to enforce justice, and they currently serve Odium in order to return Roshar to the Parshendi. The Diagram also wants to serve Odium; in this case, they wish to serve Odium in order to gain favor for themselves when/if he wins. As for the Ghostbloods, well... We don't know what their motivation is. We have almost no clue. Based on the points of data, I have created this theory; the Ghostbloods serve Odium as intelligence agents in the wider Cosmere and on Roshar. The three points are this: 1) All the other three societies we know of serve Odium in some way. The Diagram serves him directly, the Sons of Honor work to return the Desolations, and the Skybreakers want to help the Parshendi reconquer Roshar. 2) Odium has been defeated before. We know that Odium has lost before. This is why Honor believes he will agree to a contest of champions, and presumably why he is currently trapped. Odium is an extremely powerful shard, having splintered four(?) other Shards in his time. Knowing this, I doubt that local forces alone would have been enough to trap him, especially with Tanavast's reference to forces in slumber. This would give him a strong reason to keep an eye on the Cosmere at large. 3) We know the Ghostbloods contain worldhoppers, or the descendants of worldhoppers. Of course, the Ghostbloods aren't an exclusively off-world operation. This leads me to think there is some kind of division in the organization, with some agents working on-world, others working off. This makes sense, as if is theory is correct, they would be the only one of the secret societies completely under Odium's control, and the only one he would be safe trusting with important and covert operations.

Actually, good metal armor would easily deflect a baseball bat. Apart from that, your post is pretty logically sound. In addition, are you guys talking about cloth armor? That's already a thing, called a gambeson. They were actually pretty good, and while super sharp swords would cut them relatively well, very few people carry incredibly sharp swords. -
Interesting idea. It also fits in with the way Mistborn played out; not so much a group of heroes defeating a super-powerful evil on their own, but actually just fulfilling a plan layed out by an equally powerful being.

Two questions: 1) How do we know mental breakage is required to become a Surgebinder? 2) If we do know, why is this not mentioned on the Coppermind pages for Surgebinding and the Nahel Bond?
