Uninhabited planets would also have a small presence as long as people know about them. Might just be a few square meters, but that's enough if you know what you're doing.
-
And where does it culminate into one big finale? That's basically what makes it a crossover, instead of a shared universe...
-
I guess it all boils down to the questions: Was Adonalsium omniscient? Was Adonalsium omnipotent? Was Adonalsium omnipresent?

Uhm, I think you posted in the wrong thread, @Calderis. -

None of "hoid father" (a question where it would be asked if he was a father), "hoid son" and "hoid daughter" seem to give any related results in the Arcanum (looking for the second term with ctrl+f didn't give me anything on the first page), so I think this question might not have been asked. I suspect the answer to "does he have children" will be no. -
And then you remember there will be a one year time gap.
-
That makes me think of (wheel of time spoilers)

He also says (twice) that it's just that Kaladin is naturally gifted:
-
That's a stretch.
-
Yeah, but what is size? I assume diameter, but is it stated explicitly?
-
Wait, I wasn't reading your post properly lol. I thought you didn't want to talk about the need to take the Dor with you and instead just wanted to focus on the possibilities of the Aons. Yes, carrying about Sel with you is pretty impressive. Also, 50% larger than Earth? Is that surface size, diameter, volume? Also how much is land actually?
-
But having to fix the Dor is part of the fun with theorizing about this kind of stuff. "Yeah let's just avoid the entire issue of how you achieve FTL travel and everything's fixed."
-
Not to brag, but it was also my first thought.

[OB] Idea about the lunar orbits
Leyrann replied to ValentineMichaelSmith's topic in Stormlight Archive
That was discussed in the Moons of Roshar topic, in the end it seemed most likely that they were somewhat bigger than Phobos and Deimos, hence the biggest (iirc) being 100 km in diameter. What I personally find very interesting, is that this is significantly under the threshold where an object becomes rounded by it's own gravity (400-700 km in diameter depending on composition, iirc) yet they're never mentioned as having any shape at all, while I would assume that if the three moons had different shapes, that would get mentioned. In fact, in the artwork we have, they're displayed as round. -
You have the exact same avatar that a guy with the name Turin Turambar has had for years on dragonmount. Are you the same guy?
-
I was always writing things from when I was like 9, and I always entered whatever name happened to be one of the main characters from what I was writing right now. That character happened to be Leyrann when I signed up for the Wheel of Time wikia, and a little later for Dragonmount. I was around a lot on Dragonmount from that point on, and in the upcoming months it started to become my own name, then I also used it for my League of Legends account, which became the game I just kept playing, and because of that, it has stuck. To the point that the character Leyrann has disappeared from all I write, in fact, because Leyrann = me, and not anymore the character. But to be fair, it was a bit of a flat character anyways. Edit: Oh, and here I can shamelessly draw attention to my member title being "Leyspren", as Ley is of course short for Leyrann and you pronounce it the same as liespren, the other name for Cryptics.

We know the size of Roshar. They have a longitude and latitude system comparable to our own though in multiples of 10 (like everything; it's like they're anti-Americans) and we know that Roshar as continent is almost half of the planet as a whole. Also keep in mind that they have instantaneous communication to the other side of the world via spanreed; they undoubtedly know the planet is round and that day and night are caused by the rotation of the planet, even if only because that's required to explain the differences in when day and night start. So, yeah, there's no way they're not aware, at least to a certain degree, of the size of the planet.

Kaladin becomes highprince of the Sadeas princedom. If that's not big enough, a fourth Shard will become involved in Stormlight Archive, and it's name will be... Unity. -
You are referencing something but I have no idea what. Can anyone elaborate? Urithiru. Just remember that it's symmetrical. Also Alethi (and therefore also most names, though Thaylen is an exception) often alternate between vowels and consonants (with "th", "kh" etc counting as a single consonant). At most there will be two consonants together at the end of a syllable and the start of the next syllable. Aimians have been explicitly stated to have been on the side of the Radiants in the past, seems unlikely to me that they'll be a bigger problem than Odium.

[OB] Idea about the lunar orbits
Leyrann replied to ValentineMichaelSmith's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, Roshar barely has any axial tilt. Also, the moons are much smaller than our moon (approx. 100 km in diameter), which to me makes it unlikely they would have any significant effect on Roshar's tilt, particularly on such a short time frame. I even doubt they cause significant tides. And if Roshar got knocked away from Ashyn, then how is it now in a stable orbit? -
Might also want to change the title to not spoil.

Because the Shards are parts of Adonalsium, and Investiture is also part of Adonalsium. Basically, Adonalsium consisted of an infinite (or maybe almost infinite) amount of Investiture, and as he was Shattered, this Investiture got split into sixteen pieces. One could say that the Investiture is part of the Shard it's been assigned to. It's more of a "it can't not be assigned" than "it was assigned because XY".

I think emotions and personality emerge from the fabric of the Cosmere, on an even deeper level than this theory. To be precise, I think they come from the very existence of the Three Realms, where anything that is connected through the Realms (meaning it has a Physical, Cognitive and Spiritual presence) needs to be connected in the Cognitive Realm (as the Cognitive Realm is what binds the Physical and Spiritual together), and the connection that goes through the Cognitive Realm automatically goes through different states, which form emotions once you get to complicated enough beings (like humans).
-
I doubt it's that 'simple' (except it's not really simple), as Brandon has stated that there could have been different Shards forming in the Shattering. I'll admit, it was the first thing I thought of as well, but we have to remember that there is no law of nature dictating the Shards to be exactly this way and nothing else.

I think it's because of your name.
