  1. Uhm, it's Peter, not Percy. Then again Percy was a character in Harry Potter, where the movies are also worse than the books. And not only because Rowling's writing style was basically the only thing that made them worth reading; shows that worldbuilding can always get worse.
  2. What does this refer to? A new WoB or something?
  3. This is next level.
  4. "Head of the Dark Alley's Counterintelligence Division." Sounds like a fancy term for "dabbles in espionage". Not sure why I should trust someone like that to tell the truth.
  5. You are also, according to your signature, a liar, so I do not see why I should trust you on this.
  6. The Sanderfan variation of shipping: Discussing the feasability of a political marriage between characters.
  7. Do not question holy scripture.
  8. Also note that humans were not originally "of Honor", so he couldn't have made it for them before the First Desolation. (oh, and might want to put [OB] in front of the title, as you deal with humans coming from Ashyn, which is technically an Oathbringer spoiler even if it was figured out on the forums already (though it might have been from the sample chapters...))

A Shard's Intent cannot be shaped, it just is. The interpretation of the Intent by a Vessel can slightly change what the Shard does, however. Emphasis on slightly.
  10. That probably wouldn't create the cymatic pattern though, and I'm not sure how that would work with the Oathgate. Otherwise it's a nice crazy theory.
  11. Do you believe that to be entirely over? I very much doubt it's going to be a perfect marriage... (congrats on 1111 posts btw)
  12. I can confirm Syl does when Kaladin summons her in Hearthstone. I'm still planning to figure out what is happening thermodynamically.
  13. Makes one wonder whether there are small differences in what the blades can do...
  14. Huh. Would that mean that a Sylblade would be slightly different from a Wyndleblade because Syl is more of Honor and Wyndle is more of Cultivation? Different alloys, basically.
  15. I doubt it. Brandon is not the type of guy to implement clichés. Maybe if he puts some extremely unexpected twist on it.
  16. Just to make sure it's clear: The Shattered Plains are much bigger than just Stormseat. Stormseat was merely the city at the center.
  17. Yup, I actually came across that today on my OB reread.
  18. There's also this older 15 page thread on the subject, with all fresh just-after-release reactions on it (and the exact same title as this thread):
  19. If one happens, why not the other? Even with the rigid masculine/feminine distinction in Vorin culture, it's still (the Alethi variation in particular) very egalitarian. That's even remarked upon by Shallan (I think?) somewhere at the end of WoR, when she notes that the Alethi always drag their women along in battle to function as scribes, engineers etc.
  20. On earth, chemistry was only starting to get recognized as it's own seperate field in the 18th century, so I wouldn't be surprised if there were no chemists on Roshar. Roshar is probably closer to the 16th or 17th century.
  21. The argument with Syl and the Stormfather occured when Kaladin had already realized his mistakes and was about to say the Third Ideal, and he was already living it at that moment. I would argue she was far more alive than Maya is at the end of Oathbringer. And, obviously, Maya was able to rudimentarily communicate with Adolin.
  22. So, first of all, I'm not sure if orange is actually a colour Parshendi have. There's also a timeline issue though, in that the parshmen have spent the last two thousand years trapped in slaveform, while Stormlight Archive plays more or less around the same time as Mistborn Era 2, meaning that the last time parshmen weren't in slaveform was about 700 years before the Lord Ruler rose to power. Considering Southern Scadrian culture seems to have formed during the Final Empire (when the planet was much warmer), it is unlikely they were influenced by singers. Of course, the Parshendi were not trapped in slaveform, but we know they have lost access to the forms for a long time, knowing only dullform (and mateform?), and they seem to have lived only in the far east of Roshar, far away from the only known Perpendicularity (in the Horneater peaks).
