You know what, I'm not gonna wait for approval. I'm turning my character into a Skyshifter and I'm gonna change it back only if people don't accept balanced non-canon Orders.
-
Nah, Kelsier's just gonna give Odium a nice punch in the face.
-
Thou shalt not denounce the Puns of Stick!
-
That was kinda my thing as well. I think the Skydancers are awesome and well-balanced, but it's not canon.
-
I'm mostly curious why you - now bearing God Beyond - had a negative rank.
-
I wasn't actually the one that brought them up. I do agree with it though. As far as Mistborn is concerned, Kelsier was killed off. As far as Stormlight is concerned, Elhokar is killed off. Yes, the greater Cosmere might have more in store for them (well, Kelsier), but the story isn't the greater Cosmere. The story is Mistborn. There's a reason Brandon always talks about being able to read everything seperately, and it's not because we're supposed to look at it as one giant story.

What are opinions on this?

Kelsier very much died, at least as far as MB1 and (so far) MB2 are concerned. He may technically not have gone to the Beyond (still dead though), but for all story intents and purposes he can be considered dead, finito, done for. For Elhokar the very same thing counts. Yes, he died earlier in the original draft. Guess what? This is not the original draft. He's dead, he's killed off, and arguably at the most tragic moment possible.

@Hoids Imaginary Friend 1. Timeline doesn't line up; Jasnah can't first have seen Ivory in that room if she was locked up because of displaying possible Radiant powers. 2. Cracks can happen in several different ways. Think of Shallan. She got her bond before all the bad stuff happened. Brandon has explicitly said once that extreme joy can in rare cases also be enough. 3. Just because you're broken doesn't mean there's a spren around that wants to bond you. 4. If Gavilar had been aware of the "being broken to get a spren" thing, why does no one else know, nor is it implied anywhere? I don't see why he would not tell Jasnah afterwards, for example, so he could actually know whether or not she attracted a spren. After all, your spirit web doesn't reforge itself; it remains broken even if you understand why everything happened that happened. 5. Brandon has told us previously that spren tend to group together (so they have a habit of bonding family members of those who already have a bond), which was a nice in-world explanation (familiarity, less risks) to allow for main characters that are related through family to become Radiants. 6. We have never heard of any form of abuse with Elhokar. And there were a few more points but I got distracted while writing and forgot them.

The problem is that Jasnah didn't meet her "imaginary friend" until the day of Gavilar's assassination.

I do think abuse may have been involved, but it will have been through neglect and without ill will because of what I mentioned just before, that people who loved her had hurt her.

Has Archer already decided on the type of Twinborn?

TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Leyrann replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
Fortune is future sight, or in more mundane terms the ability to understand what is going to happen from the current situation (eg "how will a person react if I hit him in the face?"). Not luck. (sorry, I am originally from the theorycrafting part of this site... You're not gonna get away with breaking Cosmere rules or misinterpreting Cosmere stuff when I'm near) -
TUBA - The Underground Bakers' Association
Leyrann replied to Stormblessed Dolphin's topic in The Alleyverse
That's not how Fortune works. Anyways, the oaths. I swear I will not reveal secret informating regarding TUBA. I swear I will not spike any baked item with any substance that should not be there. I will not do so by letter, nor will I do so by spirit. I swear alliance to TUBA alone. -
One more thing (apologies for the double post), do we accept non-canonical KR Orders? If given the chance I'd prefer creating a character of this Order (OB Spoiler board, might contain minor spoilers) I created.
-
Guess that solves the problem. I think some South-Scadrian technology is also needed though, considering my character is not a feruchemist? (and neither is Mraize's)
-
As yes I wanted to mention that as well, oops. That's actually also why my RP character hasn't technically gone off-world yet. Wanted to discuss that kind of stuff first. Maybe some Worldhoppers have found ways around it?
-
Are there power differences in Feruchemists? I thought it was just In = Out, with barely any limits on how much you can store or empty per second.
-
So I just came across this while randomly reading stuff about Discworld on Wikipedia. I don't have the books nearby, can anyone confirm? I believe this is mentioned in Eric.
-
That's incorect wording, actually. It's specifically stated that "those who loved her could still hurt her". Which makes me think those people thought they were doing the right thing, which in turn makes the "locked up for assumed to be insane" more likely.

Good timing. There's a lot of stuff happening in the Alleyverse right now. In fact I mentioned the idea of writing a guide just yesterday somewhere around there (I don't remember exactly which alley it was...).

Any power/progressive metal fans out here? I tend to listen EpicRockRadio, a power/prog metal radio station. http://www.epicrockradio.com/

Well, let's get a bio in here then. Yes, it's a female character while yes, I am male, but I always have an easier time writing female characters than male characters, and even though I don't have significant roleplay experience, I am going to assume it is the same here. (I am probably going through too much trouble to make sure it's compatible with canon by only having the honorspren appear after the Everstorm...)
-
Haven't read through this entire thread as I'm only just taking a peek at the stuff here, am I correct everyone needs to make an RP character, and if so, should I just follow the template @Archer used at the top of this page?
-
What if the Sticknaughts is some kind of neutral zone in the Alleyverse? After all, being a Stick supercedes everything else, like those pesky squabbles between the different guilds of the Alleyverse. Edit: Also, the Sticks would be insanely overpowered, not fun to roleplay with at all.
