You may always vote for yourself. The Crossbowman may also shoot themselves, if they so choose. In that case, they die, and the crossbow is removed from the game. And just to clarify, if there's twelve players and eleven submit something to the effect of 'I think no one should be Crossbowman', but the twelfth submits 'Person X should be it', Person X will be given the crossbow.
-
You can certainly try. Individuals may choose not to submit a vote. If no one submits a vote for who should be the crossbowman, no one gets it.

I Love Dragons Sign-ups for Quick Fix 51, I Love Dragons, are now open! The game is a sequel to the events of I Hate Dragons, a five-minute read which can be found on Brandon’s website (https://www.brandonsanderson.com/i-hate-dragons/). I will be stealing some worldbuilding lore for the write-ups from the extended version too, but players only need to read the short version. There will be spoilers for the story in this game and they will not be marked. This game is designed for 12 or more players. Scaling up is easy, but please be conscious of your ability to meaningfully contribute. I’m your GM. Our fabulous IM for this game will be @Devotary of Spontaneity! Premise: It was a sunny day when Skip’s luck finally ran out. As such, the hunting party was afforded an excellent view of the carnage when he, Master Johnson, Caliber the accountant, and every other named character from the story were devoured by a dragon. When the beast finally flew off, all that was left of them was Master Johnson’s crossbow and a single bolt. As night falls, you, the hunting party, sit around the campfire deciding what to do. Someone [The Crossbowman] will need to carry the crossbow. Without a leader, that will have to be decided the democratic way. Most of the group [The Village Faction] is eager to continue their work and avenge Master Johnson’s death, however, no one can remember who the other party members with a knack for attracting dragons are. And strangely, none of them [The Eliminator Faction] are coming forward to volunteer to be the bait tomorrow. The best thing to do then is to push people out one-by-one to see if the dragons eat them. Rules: In this 12 or more-player game, there are an appropriate amount of Dragon Bait [Eliminator] individuals. They know each other from their secret weekly Grammar Club meetings that Skip used to lead. They can whisper to each other [via their shared Google doc.] while the group discusses plans for which individual to offer up as bait the next day [Village vote]. Everyone else is too suspicious of each other to cooperate like that [PMs are closed]. In the interests of self-preservation, the Dragon Bait group may secretly eliminate one player at the end of each cycle, except for the first. They will win if they come to outnumber the Hunting Party [Villagers]. The Hunting Party wins when the last of the Dragon Bait is convinced to do their duty [exed]. At the end of the first cycle (and only then), one player will be elected Crossbowman. Votes for this (and this only) are cast through GM PMs. The total number of votes each player receives will be revealed in Cycle Two but the identity of each voter will remain secret. The Crossbowman may bonk people with their weapon in self-defense, so they become immune to attacks from the Dragon Bait [Eliminator attacks on them have no effect] for the rest of the game and is given the ability to shoot one (and only one) party member. When they submit that action through their GM PM, the result will be revealed at the beginning of the next cycle. Their victim’s vote will be removed from the tally as the order of operations is Crossbowman Kill, Hunting Party Vote, Dragon Bait Kill. All kills will be announced as the type they are alongside an identification of what faction the person belonged to. Players who are inactive for an entire cycle will be replaced. (Note: this is an update from the previous activity filter, which allowed for two full cycles of inactivity before removal.) All ties will be decided randomly. There is no vote minimum. There are three Secret Elements to this game. You’ll know them when you see them because they will be labelled in big bold letters 'Secret'. They do not affect any player’s ability to remain alive or take actions. Cycles are 24 hours long. Roll-over will occur at 11am EST (GMT -5). This game will begin on Monday, March 1st at 11am. Housekeeping Requests: -Please refrain from calling the Crossbowman the Archer. -Please remember to green out any previous votes before casting another one. Please also refrain from writing names in red (or green) if you are not voting for them. -Once gameplay has begun, please @ me if you have any questions. I only receive email notifications for pings. -You may not directly quote your GM PMs, only summarize text from them. Player List: Spectators: Pinch-hitters: Clarifications: Quick Links:

I'm okay with the shortened day. I buy that Flyingbooks attempted to pass the SB, so their action could not have been used for defence. It could have been a few different people, but Devo with their Warding specialization is a good bet. Flyingbooks knew of the scan plan. We said, take your pick of Burnt and Devo and scan them. They chose Devo and specifically said they’d do the specialized version. They committed to that at 7pm, before Kas mentioned at 8pm that they planned to do LoM+. That's a risky gambit if they weren't their teammate because Devo's action would have been hard to predict. On the day Connie was exed, barely any elims voted. Everyone who voted then has either flipped or been soft cleared except Devo. I know Devo's style is to vote late, but to me, it looks like they've been bussing. Two people told me they tried to RB Devo last night, so that explains how they submitted a NK and no one died. Gears posted halfway through my typing all this and sealed the deal. I don't think there's any way he could have gotten that as a false result, so they're either lying or Devo is evil. Devo was getting exed either way, so there's no reason for Gears to lie. Devotary I taught Araris a specialization last night to prove I'm not evil. Gears, any update on your chalk situation? That's a loose end that still confuses me.

My bad. Yes you do. Very sus! Interesting. Random and Flyingbooks have the Vigor specialization, so if they did it, you would have been misled by the GM instead of being told you failed. Araris, Devo, Burnt and myself took from the Supply. Mist claims to have splashed acid. That's everyone's actions accounted for. I'm very confused. Either Gears is lying, someone intentionally downgraded their Vigor line to confuse us, or Mist is lying. Mist's is easily confirmable because they'll need to add to the Defense tonight in order to make it look like they really did splash acid, so if we can get a Making+ scan on them, that'd be great. But I think it's more likely a GM mistake. It seems like a high risk, low reward scheme. Yes yes yes. I had forgotten about the lack of kill. This explains the lack of an NK, they had to take actions to cover. Very good point. I agree that having Reading Ward also seems like an odd thing for the elim team to do when they needed extra Warding to cover the SB. Mist has as much chalk as they should (2 pieces), so it wasn't them. I believe their claim that they have the Silencing specialization, so they probably didn't start with an extra chalk. I think it's safe to assume they haven't taken any action they haven't reported, so for this, I'd take them off the list. It can't have been Books/anyone though because Devo scanned Books and said they did nothing. And Books/Devo is unlikely anyway because Devo would have just done it themselves. But here's where I get confused. You have Lotus, Books, and another elim. If any of them have Warding+, they should do it themselves to reduce the risk of being caught. If none of them do, they'll need two people to do it. Why wasn't Flyingbooks one of those people? According to Devo, they took no action. Did they think they would be scanned? In that case, they potentially risked both of their teammates being exposed. Alternatively, they have a specialist. My gut says it's the latter because if there's one thing the elims have done this game, it's play it safe. Grabbing the SB was a bold gambit, but I feel they'd only do it if they had a plan. Devo's action makes sense as part of a plan before it heads off any questions by giving a reason they're short chalk if someone with a crab checks their inventory. Two people claiming no action is pretty risky. But then, Lotus could have it the specialization too and we wouldn't know. Who's taking the rainbow chalk tonight?

I honestly thought there was one elim left and it was Gears. Sorry about that. Flyingbooks held the Shadowblaze and the camp defence registered as normal. Therefore, one person used the Warding specialization to cover for them, two people did so with regular lines, or some acid was thrown that wasn’t reported. I will assume that whoever did it was their elim teammate(s). Flyingbooks took the SB on Day Five. Using Kas’ handy spreadsheet, we know that everyone who didn’t take a visible action was a villager. Therefore no one threw acid. For having taken a confirmable action on N5, Araris, Random, Mist, and myself are cleared of having provided the additional defense. During the night, the spreadsheet has blanks for Gears, Lotus, Flyingbooks and Burnt. Devo claimed to have done a Line of Making that showed that Flyingbooks took no action, iirc. Flyingbooks’ death had no effect on the Camp Supply. They were really unlucky with their item grabbing, but since they started with a piece of chalk, they should have had one on them when they died. Additionally, I believe players either start with a specialization or an item. They could have started with a piece of rainbow chalk. They could have also started with the Warding Specialization. They could have used these to adjust the Camp Defence on N5. If that’s the case, Devo is lying and is their partner. Devo, who has Warding+ could have drawn the line to cover for them, then lied and said they did Making. In that case, Devo is their elim teammate. It wasn’t known what specialization Lotus had, if any, so they could have had the specialization or rainbow chalk. However, she dropped a crab and three pieces of chalk when she died and is only on record as having taken a single piece of chalk. Add the one they started with and we’ve got a chalk and a crab we don’t know where they came from. That’s a mystery someone is welcome to look into if they have the time. Did a random crab disappear one night or did they start with it? Is there night chalk, probably from N3 or 4 we don’t know who it was taken by? Probably. Anyway, just to account for what they had, they needed to have taken more than they said. To have drawn the line, they needed to have taken a chalk one night and used their N5 action to draw. We don’t know if they had the specialization or not so we have to assume they did. The only way we can disprove it was them is if we can trace all the item movement, which I’m not going to do. Lotus could also not have the specialization and have drawn a line with another elim. Gears and Burnt both had the chalk to do it. They both have other specializations than Warding, but as I said, could have joined Lotus. We can not say for sure that Flyingbooks’ elim teammate was a specialist. Flyingbooks was down at least one piece of chalk, so we can't even say for sure that it wasn't them who drew the line (If Devo flips village, it could still be Lotus who did it). All we know is that I can’t provide defense, so I didn't do it.

Thanks for the confirmation, Burnt. +1 on everyone submit your actions. There's still rainbow chalk available, that'd be a good pickup. Since Flyingbooks confirmed Devo's scan, if Flyingbooks is evil, Devo is probably evil (taking into account the need to hide the SB difference too), but not necessarily the other way around (Only like 90% chance since Lotus could have had Warding+ or rainbow chalk or something). So the choice is between Flyingbooks and Gears. If Flyingbooks is village, we know Gears is an Elim. They might also have a partner. In that case, we go from 6:2 now to 5:2 at the end of today. 4:2 with the NK. 4:1 when Gears is exed. Then it's 3:1 if they pull off the NK. I would like to think that we could successfully figure out who the remaining person is at that point, if there is one. However, the alternative is hitting Gears today. Assume it's a misexe. We're at 5:2, but we know both Elims. It then goes 4:2, 4:1, we know who to RB, so no NK, then 4:0. Having said all that, if Flyingbooks and Devo are Elim buddies, they have two votes, and the ability to silence two votes. So our 6:2 becomes 4:2. Not everyone may vote and weird things can happen if bribes and the like are thrown around, so I'll follow Araris and move over to Gears Books

Yeah, as Araris and Gears have pointed out, I messed up last night. The TL;DR on this post is Burnt and several others could be an elim, but only three people could have submitted the NK. Of them, Gears is the most likely. Kas’ Actions (spreadsheet): This shows Kas had his regular D6 chalk and his D7 rainbow chalk on him when he died, as well as a lantern that was passed to him. The net change in the Camp Supply was -1 bucket of acid, +1 lantern. Burnt, Araris, what type of chalk did you each get? If one of you got Rainbow and the other regular, that checks out. You both must be telling the truth to make the numbers work. Apologies for sussing you. I have not been given the Shadowblaze. I can prove it tomorrow night by teaching someone. But I recognize that my crab scan is probably the least convincing because I just had to lie and say Mist has what they say they have if I’m an elim. Ash was the N6 NK. Kas has them down as having used a map that night, so they could not have passed it. To keep the SB in play, someone would have had to use Revocation+ to steal it, then passed it to me D7 because N7 everyone did known actions. Gears, Random, Flyingbooks, and Devo were listed in the Supply list for D7, so it couldn’t have been them. Burnt threw acid D7. Araris went for the gun D7. Therefore only Mist could have done it. They have never possessed a rainbow chalk and were not taught the Revocation specialization, so in order to pull this off, they must have started with the Revocation specialization. They’ve told me before that they can prove they have a different specialization than Revocation, so depending what it is, that can be cleared up fairly easily if they use it. Coupled with my night school, that should dispel any doubts about me having been converted. @Mist Random’s LoW+ has not been contested, so let’s assume they are village. So if we take Mist, Araris, and Burnt out of the equation for having grabbed things, that leaves: Gears, Flyingbooks, and Devo. -Gears claims to have LoM+’d Random. They correctly identified their action. -Flyingbooks claims to have LOM+’d Devo. They correctly identified their action. -Devo claims to have LoM+’d Burnt. They correctly identified their action. Somewhere in this chain, someone lied about scanning and got lucky that no one changed their action. If Devo is an elim, Flyingbooks is covering for them and is also an elim. Flyingbooks could also be a solo elim, or one with Gears. All these possibilities rely on elim!Flyingbooks having had a way to adjust the camp defense up by two when they held the Shadowblaze. On D6, Kas did a breakdown of how elim!Flyingbooks could have faked it. They anonymized the names of some people, but later posted their full spreadsheet, so we know the two people who drew LoWs were Burnt and Random. Interestingly, I gave Devo Warding specialization on D1, so they could have drawn LoW instead of LoM as they said they did to cover for their teammate. Funnily enough, I think the LoM Devo claimed was on Flyingbooks, so that’s an interesting loop. Anyway, on N5, Ashbringer took the SB. Their action show they didn’t pass it so it must have been stolen N6 if it didn’t die with them. And that requires Revocation specialization. Gears started with Making, not Revocation. Lotus could have done it, but they grabbed the gun instead of passing it D7, so if they had it, it died with them. Burnt started with Warding. Flyingbooks has Vigor and didn’t learn Revocation until D6. They’d have had to shoot off a basic Revo and hope the 1/6 chance is in their favour that they get upgraded. Random has Revo and Devo claimed to have started with none, so they could be hiding their Revo, so those are the only two unaccounted for on Kas’ list of N6 actions. But on D7, both of them took a Supply item, so they must still have it on their person. In that case, the Camp Defence would be lower. Therefore, the SB died with Ashbringer. So, did elim!Flyingbooks have Devo cover for them when they had the SB, then let it die with Ashbringer? Or was Flyingbooks village, and has honestly vouched for Devo, which makes Gears the only one who could have submitted the NK? Since we know the SB is out of play, we don’t need to worry about there being three elims (including e!myself) right now. So even if there is a misexe, we’ll be fine. I’ll use the same logic as last night (but on the right person this time hopefully) to support exing Gears. If it’s Gears, they may have a teammate. If it’s not, we know who our two elims are and can wrap this up fairly easily. Edit: Araris

So right now I'm trying to figure out which is the more likely bluff: Araris going for the gun and having a 50/50 chance of dying, or Devo using their rainbow chalk to scan their teammate. Either of them is the product of a cunning mind and whichever of you pulled it off has my eternal respect. Kas, Araris, Gears, Flyingbooks, and I coordinated our actions in a PM last round. Burnt and Devo should have been unaware of who would be targeted, save for the reasonable assumption that they both might be because they were in the suspect pool. My guess is they would forgo the NK in that position, or have Burnt submit it and Devo come out and say ah ha! for village cred. If you’re going to use your rainbow chalk on the off chance that you’re both scanned, why not use it better? In the PM, Araris said they were out of chalk (which is true) and planning to restock. But they would have known who everyone’s targets were, including that Kas (the night kill) was going to scan Burnt. They would have also known that they would not themselves be scanned because why on Earth would they go for the gun if they were Lotus’ teammate? My preference is to exe Araris because if they flip elim, they may have a teammate who we’ll need to track down. It'd be a small pool, but if they go full deep-wolf, they have a shot at it. If Devo and Burnt are teammates, if Araris flips village, we will know who the remaining Elims are with certainty and still have the numbers to lock in a win. (8:2 becomes 7:2 at the end of the day, then NK 6:2, exe 6;1, NK 5;1, exe 4;0). Either way, it’s our choice of juicy info kills. Apologies if we get it wrong today, I promise we’ll get it right the next time if so.

Might as well just put this out in the open. Everyone who scanned, please report it publicly because between the soft clears and scans, I think we've got them. I used a Crab last night to scan Mist instead of doing a specialization lesson. They have eight items, so they're a bit of a hoarder, but having cross referenced with Kas' notes, everything checks out. They haven't used anything they haven't reported using, including chalk. More importantly, they now have a bucket of acid. Therefore they could not have submitted the NK. Edit: Hang on, something's gone wrong. I'll retract this vote shortly Burnt

I understand that the timing of the current LG will affect when the new one may begin, but if we were to approximate, what's the best schedule to follow for game starting times? I think having them both start at the same time would probably cause problems, so should the QF try to start before the new LG, or after it? I could post sign-ups Monday and start Thursday or Friday to try to beat the LG, or I could wait to start until say after the LG's first cycle is complete. Given that there's been a few days since the MR ended, I don't see a four day sign-up period as being too out of the question, but I also don't want to rush things. Also, anyone interesting in being an IM? I have three minor blackout elements I added to the ruleset that was previously approved that I need to run by someone.
-
I was under the impression that Ashbringer was running the game. If they aren't, I have an I Hate Dragons one I'd like to run.
-
A regular problem appears to be people signing up for games then not playing in them. There's usually at least one person in a MR or QF who does that. I suggest the standard activity filter, 'if you don't post over any two cycles, you'll be replaced' additionally include the rule that 'and if you don't interact with your GM PM or post by the end of the first cycle, you will be replaced.' If you send out your GM PM's a half day in advance, that gives a person only 36 hours to get on and do something to avoid the filter, but it's the difference between possibly having a dud player for 2 or 6 cycles versus only 1 of 6.

Dangit Araris, you ruined the crustacean zerg rush plan. Now I have to vote for Lotus and be content with the one crab I'll get today as a souvenir. On that note, if you're for some absurd reason not going for crabs, might I suggest claiming the action in thread? The elims likely won't waste chalk cancelling a grab with so many goodies about. So we should ensure only five people go for rainbow chalk while everyone else gets regular chalk (or a consolation crab). It's gonna be posted anyway. If you're going for the gun, call it out, but be warned that the exe target may also grab it and kill you with them. Then tonight I recommend we either have a scanning, suspect blocking, or self protecting party to prevent the NK. We can afford to start heavily using chalk. And I'll be very sad if I die and lose my crab(s).

There's no Ashbringer here to say it, so it's up to me to say that there sure looks like there was some vote manipulation to make the crab count so high. The elims seem like an honorable lot to me. I'd be willing to forgo an exe here if they pass on the NK and instead have everyone grab a crab today and tonight. Then we'll all have a great load of crabs to take home as souvenirs. Afterwards when our friends ask what we've got we'll say well, Alvron, I didn't get the gun, but I've got a pot of six spring powered crabs here I'll trade you for that Honorblade. On a less important "on topic" note, rumor has it Ashbringer had the Shadowblaze, so it was either stolen, which would have required someone to know he had it, or its gone now. Flyingbooks received my specialization lesson.

Apologies for not being on over the weekend. I don’t want to panic anyone, but after tonight, it could be 7 villagers:3 elims. With a mis-exe the next day, it’s 6:3. After the night, it could be 5:3. Plus a conversion, that’s 4:4. Luckily, they don’t win at parity, but at equal strength, the village is doomed. So if you’re saving anything for the endgame, I encourage you to consider using it soon. I believe the original elim team was only four, because with the thief and possibility of conversion, I think Sart would have rounded down, but we should not discount the possibility that we’re three rounds from what is essentially the end. (Assuming no guns, no blocked kills etc) Interesting that the rainbow chalk is not distinguished in the Supply. Reading had told me they started with it. Has anyone picked up a piece of chalk from the Supply and had it turn out to be rainbow? My gut is saying Random Bystander would have been told by their team that they can switch actions, but it’s not conclusive. Kas mentioned not thinking that Lotus was evil based on their vote on Reading when another elim was up for exe. Reading’s village flip disproves that theory. On Day Three, only they, Araris, and now dead people voted for other candidates than Elim!Connie. The first flip is the one elims try to prevent the most, after that if the info trail leads to someone, they are wary of losing in one fell swoop. Another time, D2, I also found it odd when Lotus voted on me post claim. Araris called it a village slip. I’d usually believe that, except that the votes suggest their teammates, so now it looks elimy. The Araris conundrum really is that they’ve been acting like a villager in everything except their votes. They’ve poured acid, been accountable, the whole bit. However, I’m going to stick to this wagon because those votes sure look sus. I might believe one of Lotus or Araris could be switched out for Devo, but we should assume the D3 plan was to protect, not bus, and hit those two first. If we’d had no elim flips, I’d support going after people with hard to read playstyles (RNGing, late voting etc) but we have data, so I think we should go off that first. At this point, I am certain D3 was an unplanned exe for the elims and will continue harping on that so people don’t over-think their way out of the obvious exes. Reading was on my elim team guess. That was incorrect, unfortunately. I think Kas asked about Lotus, and my thoughts there were Araris defended them once when they voted on me, saying it was a village slip. Now that we know Reading is village, it makes sense that they voted on them instead of Araris. Lotus did drop some acid at an opportune time, and had the chance to say they hadn’t and make us waste some chalk, but I think when they poured it, they didn’t realize it would be the only one needed, and when they did, they used the opportunity to get village points, which was more valuable than possibly wasting resources. I’ve picked an education target and told Kas who it is. If they don’t reveal the name, they’re my elim buddy and you may exe us both. But secrecy is the best way I think of avoiding the target being NKed or blocked from receiving it to frame me. I know Kas will survive the night, so even if the person is targeted, Kas can back me up here. If anyone objects to this plan, I can say the name right before rollover or something. I’ll probably vote Lotus tomorrow because there’s more support for that than Araris.

Evan had a gun. People listened when you had a gun. Perhaps that was why no one had questioned his decision yet. They were all too afraid that they would be next. The boy was walking in circles now. His feet kept taking him back to the one place he didn't want to go - back to her tent. He pulled back the flap and looked inside. Nothing had changed. "Why is she still here? Hello? Guys? We have a person for this right? We don't, we don't just leave the bodies." He was shouting now. "Where's our grave digger? Anyone? Guys?" Eventually, someone gave him a shovel. He dug the pit inside of her tent, embarrassed to let anyone see what he was doing. When it was deep enough, he pushed the body in. He thought of finding flowers, but between the acid and the chalk, nothing beautiful grew here anymore. Instead, he added a few of Sakura's personal items. They had a nice watch he laid on their chest. And there was a letter on their desk... "Huh." Evan flipped it over, curious, despite himself. He looked at it for a while, not opening it, just turning it over and over in his hands. "You had someone worth writing to." He reached into his breast pocket and pulled out his photo of his father. After a moment's hesitation, he then slid it into the envelope and pocketed the whole package as he tiptoed out of the tent. Now he had two people to find. *** I was not passed the Shadowblaze last night. That is of course what evil me would say. I propose that no one trust me with anything important for now and we wait until tonight when I can prove my alignment by teaching someone a specialization. With three teammates and the occasional ‘woops, the person I taught was NKed! Oh noes,’ I’m fairly sure I could string the group along past exe-lo, so we need to devise a way of choosing my target that’s somewhat random or teaches who everyone agrees is for sure village. This seems like a good thing to discuss tomorrow night, so feel free to think on that so I can be genuinely cleared. Kas told me they were self-protecting tonight, so my guess is they were the target and the NK failed. Good work, Kas! Unfortunately, I chose a bad person to shoot. I am suspicious of Araris. However, I felt that we could successfully exe them today (which is unblockable), so the gun would be better used to target someone in that pool of 'kinda suspicious but they might be able to CW their way out of it' people. Ventyl fit the bill. Unfortunately, we now only have Flyingbooks to tell us what that conversation was about where they discussed stealing the Shadowblaze? And why’d you take it anyway in the first place? I’m giving village points to Burnt and Random for defending on what had to be a stressful night for the elims. Who else was in on that? I'll give you village points if you come forward. (We're getting to the point where we can tell who submitted NKs by process of elimination, so bear that in mind if you do something provable.) Time for whatever this is: (tunneling on Araris) TL;DR I think the elim team is Araris, Lotus, and Reading. Lotus and Reading being on the team is predicated on Araris being on it. I think Araris is an elim because they have consistently voted for villagers except for when they voted for TUO, which was late enough that it could have been a bus. If Araris isn't an elim, I suggest looking at Flyingbooks, Mist, Random, and as a last resort, Devo. Just so it's out there, I gave Araris Line of Making specialization on D2 or something. Edit: Yeah, it was D2

Araris is going full Winnie the Pooh. Edit: @Sart if an individual is shot, does that affect the chalkling on the same round they are killed or the one after? Also, does being RBed when submitting a one-use item action mean you lose the item? Striker received the Revocation specialization from me N3. They claimed to have started with a map and acquired a lantern among other things. Kas and I coordinated so I would get the gun. No comment on what I will do with it. Tonight I'm going to be tight lipped so as not to tip my hand.

So to recap: -Ventyl took the clock (one-use item that makes the village Defence match the chalkling Strength) from Striker. Both were in the public sphere as potential elims. Ventyl claimed to have suspected Striker and wanted it out of their hands. -When Striker learned of the theft, they correctly guessed who had done it. Ventyl confessed and announced their intention to use it that night. When told it was unnecessary, they offered to pass it. -Devo confirmed Ventyl no longer has the clock. -They claim to have tried to pass it to Gears and been informed they actually passed it Stink. This wording should not have been used by the GM if that's the case. So either Sart mistyped, or Ventyl was lying poorly, not knowing the proper wording that would be used. -Sart confirmed the proper wording does not match what Ventyl says they got. "I will not say if I made a mistake last night, but if I did, I will have PM'd the relevant parties to get any mistakes resolved by the time this post goes up." That's well worded to give nothing away. Unfortunately, Devo told everyone that Ventyl lacked the clock before they committed to a story. As such, it is impossible to differentiate between Ventyl lying poorly and Sart mistyping the effect of Stink grabbing something on their way out the door. Ventyl will report that Sart issued a correction either way. As such, I am going to drop the entire issue and consider it NAI as not to delve too far into awkward meta. Flyingbooks, as far as I can tell, you could have submitted three NK's, every night except N3. And I can't ignore the coincidence that N3 is the night TUO said they forgot to submit an action.

Sacrilege, smite him Given that Striker has no incentive to lie about this, I'll buy that the alleged wording is accurate, however, I'd still like @Sart to confirm or deny whether his previous statement that the Thief steal is always indistinguishable from the Revocation theft based on the GM PM message, or if there's wiggle room. (@Elandera because this is meta stuff) As said before, this is indistinguishable from an elim submitting a kill action unless you're scanned. Who do you believe he's bussing? Because this implicates both the bussed and the busser, but the way you've worded it, it could be seen as trying to protect the person Araris is voting on (Striker, I think) by hitting Araris first as a misexe, after which you may say that it wasn't a bus, so his target must not have been evil after all. It's a good point though, so thank you. I like that you've been getting similar vibes as I. It's certainly worth looking into more!

You're right about the OOA, but, and this meta discussion is putting Sart in a bad spot and I apologize, but when my bribe was taken by Stink, the wording was similar to 'your item disappeared!'. Stink later claimed in PMs to have taken my bribe, so I'm fairly sure it was them. Bold mine. This is Sart's rules clarification on the Thief ability. This would seem to imply that you would not receive a message saying you gave the item to the Thief. (Unless Sart messed up, but our working assumption should be that they didn't unless confirmed otherwise.) I propose that Ventyl willingly gave the clock to the Thief to get rid of it... and claimed it was stolen in case they were scanned doing it? Also, re-reading the rules clarification posts, I was reminded the elims need to spend an action to submit their kill. I propose that that's what people like TUO were doing when they 'forgot' to grab something. Tonight, if you come up empty-handed, that's highly suspicious. Submit  your  actions  ! Edit: Araris, you are dangerously close to implying that Sart is fallible and I think that you must be GM smote on the spot

You mostly just respond when people mention or sus you. It can be seen as an Elim trying to lie low. It's like a politician who never states a firm opinion in order to avoid scandal and attention. As far as I can remember, you haven't gone on the offensive much or made any new arguments. I understand not wanting to be wrong, but it doesnt give people much to read into. Kas is trying to prod you into saying who you think makes the best case, or if anything has stood out to you, or if you have a suggestion about how to approach the next stage of the game. Once you stop being a rookie, you're going to start being seriously sussed in games if you continue playing very conservatively. It is of course your choice, just letting you know it's most helpful for the village if people are talkative. Otherwise your defense will always be well I haven't said anything incriminating, to which people will respond, well you haven't said anything that brings us closer to finding elims either. Excuse me while I tunnel on Ventyl a little longer. Why didn't v!they keep it? Steal comes before use, so if the elims wanted it, they'd have it. But maybe they're busy this round. Fortunately it's hidden where they don't know where it i- oh, it's with Gears? Cool. Now it can be stolen again. I'm glad Ventyl didn't use it because Lotus splashed the acid (village points to you), but this wasn't super helpful either and frees up their action to take the gun. I'm either tunneling on a villager not paying much attention and making questionable decisions and or I'm looking at an Elim, and I'm having trouble figuring out which it is. As for the confusion, if Sart typoed, it can be stolen. If the thief took it, that's unfortunate. If it was handed to the thief, that's an Elim move. (Anyone know if STINK took an action last night?)
