That was a productive night! We now know that there are people with only one role; it’s unclear if Azmine or Jondesu had items on them. I’ll guess Jondesu was the NK because they offered more loot for the elims to claim. (Funnily enough, Lotus may have had the most boxings of any of them.) We now know that our killers are trigger happy. I can understand wanting to shoot before Bulletproof Vests come into play and you possibly die yourself, but uh, maybe don’t go too crazy on the kills until we’ve got some better reads? Besides claiming the kill, would any like to claim having made a redirect that could have affected one of these attacks? And we now know how one of the elims acted D1, which can tell us about their strategy. Lotus’ posts were as follows: -Now that the game has actually started I should probably go read the rules Or I cold just wing it and hope for the best. Rules are for loosers It's been a long time since I've played a game, but yay no more AP tests and so hopefully I'll have the time. -RP -[Mat said: I’ve literally used this [program] like three times already lol] Three times, eh? Been sending out some PMs? -Dang it I did not realize rollover was going to be this early for me. Should have actually paid attention to the time [Note: they posted this minutes before rollover, so the elims evidently thought it was important to be on around then. Mat, TJ, and Ashbringer were the gang who posted near the deadline] -Did someone say RP? -RP -[Mat asked: Lotus, any thoughts on the game outside of RP?] I think some people are people and other people are not people. -RP I’d say their play style was most similar to Ventyl’s (who has only RPed and made references to their Biplet PM). It’s interesting that they only ever engaged OOC with Mat. I think if they were e-e, Mat would have prompted them to talk from the elim doc or not at all. It’s also interesting that they didn’t vote. They weren’t well positioned to do so without appearing opportunistic, but it at least indicates that the elims weren’t desperate to counter the main wagons. * I remember Ash and Striker having a tie/untie/tie fight right around rollover in a recent game and I thought it was a villagey thing to do, then they turned out to be evil. Rereading their post, it was a last-minute quick gotta get this posted thing, so I’m less suspicious of it now than I was before. * I’ll vote Mist because I think they’re the kandra. They’re present enough to avoid pokes, but they’re limiting their aggression to safe areas of conversation. Seems like the way I’d play if I wanted to split the difference and survive. (Actually, Lotus was my leading suspect because their flippancy reminded me of my play in the second airship MR as a neutral, but that read was obviously off.) * As politicians and the like mulled about the foyer as the council meeting resumed the next day, the Great Panini was in the corner of the room, wooden dummy held in his right hand, practicing his ventriloquism. “Panini, why are you jogging on the spot? It’s jostling my insides.” The aristocrat being a poor voice actor, the puppet’s voice was a squeaky falsetto. “You’re a decorated hunk of wood, you’re empty on the inside.” “That’s because you never feed me. Man runs a successful bread business empire but he never has any to spare for his favourite puppet...” “Who says you’re my favourite?” “You do. You’re the one voicing my gripes. Would you stop jogging? Oi! That’s faster.” The heavy-set man had to grab his top hat to keep it from falling off as he picked up the pace. He was almost sprinting now. “You realize we’re going nowhere, right?” The tiny top hat on his dummy, who was wearing a matching tuxedo, fell to the floor at that point. “So is this meeting, Bagel. Everyone is talking but no one is saying anything.” “Says the ventriloquist. WHY DO YOU KEEP JOGGING?” The older man winked at his doll. “It’s a running joke. Come on, let’s go spread rumors to the newspaper men.”

Could be there's a feruchmical drop in there, but that still leaves a soother who decided to throw their weight around. One doesn't often do that for CC's. 1. I accept your explanation, but note you decided that making a new wagon wasn't a viable option 2. Oh, fair enough! 3. The Biplet Ventyl thing is NAI to me. After checking with the GMs that it was resolved, I've decided to just ignore it. There was a similar instance in the LG and it dragged down the game, so I'd rather play around it 4. I just realized I'd been threating the thief as a neutral, because I once played a game with a neutral theif. They're probably village, aren't they, since the elims can steal with NKs. I retract my assumptions about them 5. I'd guess a few people accepted. Probably one of them was evil. So your secret is already out and you should just claim in thread :). I feel that poking an inactive and making them into the leading wagon is more than just an activity incentive. It seems more like an easy misdirection of the village exe. I appreciate that you removed it, but that can be construed as pulling out to avoid blood on your hands later. More pointed question, how do you plan to help the village faction win? I get that we can't vote right now and hardcore analysis isn't everyone's thing, but in the long term, having a bunch of question marks in our reads lists will make it easier for the elims to survive. * Also, the hockey gods hate me, so I'm taking tomorrow off from internet stuff

Sorry, Experience. Hey @Matrim's Dice, are you a soother, or do you just have friends with power? (Who didn't coordinate with Experience's friends) Ha, you were wrong :P. Unfortunately. It would have been a good troll move. Apologies to everyone who sent me a PM I didn’t respond to. Interesting that we have confirmation not everyone is a twinborn though. Sucks for the PM spy role. :D. Friendly reminder that the boxings incentives will mess with meta-analysis a bit in terms of quantity. I’m not going to give much weight to these kinds of potentially valid elim tells this game because people have good reason to change their habits. You gotta get to 200 words per post somehow. Ah ha! I am a genius guesser! Oop Hey @DrakeMarshall, can you explain how you expected people to react to this post? Specifically, how you hoped they’d vote because of it. Valid point, with a touch of motivation behind it. Mat probably had the strongest read of anyone in the room, so I understand why they felt contrarian. I’m reading Mat as village at the moment. Throwing back to the distinction of RP discussion, can you adjust your program to count italics and plaintext separately? Could probably have everyone put RP in italics going forward @StrikerEZ Don’t like this post. I agree with it, but I don’t think it should have been posted until Night time. Oo that’s interesting. Changed your mind because Drake was being villager or because Drake was being villagery and you didn’t want to push a mix too hard? This is the creation of a viable wagon (3 votes) disguised as a poke. I dislike it. Mat said the same thing quicker, but I’ll +1 it. It’s like, four pages at that point and half of it is RP (read: ignorable). That approach this early in the game is disappointing. Could you please explain how you plan to use RNG this game? @Mist Respect XD. Huh. It’s a classic late-round Devo vote, but it pointedly avoids adding to the stakes. I’m okay with that, but I’m not sure I quite follow the mindset. @Devotary of Spontaneity Not a great defense, but there’s not much you can do to fend off a D1 vote. This I understand. This I don’t. What do you have against ties? @Ashbringer ***** You imply that exing Mat had significantly better odds of success. Casually admits to being a PM spider, very cool, very villagery. Says they’ve been robbed, which means Drake wasn’t (or there’s two thieves). Why didn’t they go for the big fish? That clicking noise you just heard is the elims cocking their NK guns. What are you up to? @Szeth_Pancakes Agreed. Can confirm Drake was soliciting roleclaims in PMs. Will spend several hours tonight pondering whether they’ve softed their role enough by now to guess what it is. :P. Mat and I are in the same headspace this game. I propose they used their vote manip to self-protect, which isn't noteworthy. Biplet is probably my top sus at the moment.

Getting village vibes from this. If an elim were to say this, it limits their ability late in the game to claim that the reason they haven't been NKed yet is because they're a returnee. I don't fully agree with inviting attack unless you have protection or want to imply that you do, but each to their own. (I'm not fishing for an answer to that, by the way. I'm happy to IKYK the elim doc) Dannex is usually slow to wade into games, but if this is all we get from them, I'll be suspicious. I'm okay with wanting ties and applying broad pressure. It's good strategy, full stop. Being so transparent about it seems like an elim laying the groundwork to potentially protect their teammates later on by redirecting pressure into the crowd. The analysis section of the post felt a little padded to hit the 200 word mark, so I'm wondering if they just over shared to meet their quota. I agree that keeping the Tineye alive would be nice, but I'll exe them if they're suspicious. It's a NAI role. I looked at the LG66 Aftermath and one thing the GMs really emphasized was their inclination towards distribution trolling. Thank you for the other notes, but I'll highlight this one since you're the reigning kandra expert. It's interesting that the rules about kandras this game are so much lighter. I'm inclined to agree with the assessment that one of the secret rules relates to the kandra. I'd said they were basically a village ally before, but looking at what they can potentially do, I'm thinking they're more an element of chaos, which benefits the elims. This solidifies my 4 person elim team guess. One final note about LG66, Striker revamped the market place. He fixed the Bulletproof Vest and moved some prices. So bodyguard roles are now more valuable than before, and therefore more prevalent maybe?

“I don’t know Bagel, I think Panini’s Circus Glu-tent is a fabulous name for it.” The Great Panini, a portly gentleman in a tuxedo and top hat was chatting with his ventriloquist dummy, a portly wooden doll in a better-pressed tuxedo and top hat. “Why do you have to brand everything with bread references?” Panini’s lips moved slightly when the dummy talked in its painfully squeaky voice. It was the kind of performance that kids liked… provided the wealthy patron’s assistants had paid them off beforehand to humor their boss. “Shh, don’t stop me now. I’m on a roll.” There was a faint clink as Bagel’s wooden hand facepalmed. “I hate your guts.” “You’re just jealous I have guts! Ho ho. Speaking of which, where’s the buffet? Don’t these meetings always have a snack bar?” “At least I can’t put on weight.” “What was that?” “Nothing.” There was an awkward silence as Panini glared at his hand. Then his eyes twinkled mischievously. “I’m going to dunk you in the punch bowl again.” “NO! Help! Puppet abuse! Hellllllllp-” To casual listeners, what followed next was a series of rapid splashes, gurgling noises, and at least six separate cuss words screamed in falsetto. At the end of it all, Panini snapped his fingers to call over some help. “Bagel needs a towel! He slipped into the juice, the poor thing.” * Woop woop, game time! Here’s what I got for basic rules analysis: -No vote is an option, but even if everyone agreed to it, an elim Rioter could use the opportunity to make someone vote on a villager and get a free kill. I’m against trying it. -Boxings: Players who make a short post with a vote in it and use a PM every turn will get eleven boxings per cycle. That’s the expected minimum. Players who post 800 words per round across enough posts will get nineteen per cycle. That’s my expected average for the first few rounds, with tapering off expected later into the game. At that rate, most people should be able to purchase a Bulletproof Vest by Day Four, earlier if they are lucky with the exe lottery. Killers will have access to the pricier items around that time, with their expected income of (C1: 20+10, C2: 20+20, C3: 20+30 = 120) 120 boxings by Day Four, if the same person consistently submits a kill. Anyone want to make a PM group EDIT: two person PM to track boxings with me? -I’m guessing the distribution has everyone with at least a Feruchemical role, Allomantic role, or regular role. (This game was tagged as role madness, so...) I suspect people with weak roles are more likely to have items, and some people have both feruchemical and allomantic powers, but not two of one type. The coinshot (NK) seems like a village role, but beyond that, it’s too hard to predict which side has what. I’ll just guess the village is 75%ish: 4 elims: 1 neutral: 14 villagers. The neutral’s best bet is to kill off all of the elims, because if it comes down to two elims vs the neutral, the elims will kill them. In a two villagers vs a neutral fight, the neutral has a chance, because no one knows each others’ alignment. So I’m thinking they count more for the village side and would be willing to revise my prediction up to five elims, but as Mat said, 27% is a little high. I’m expecting it’s otherwise balanced through the item/role distribution. -In terms of actions you can take, twice per cycle you may: Buy items, pass items, sell items (night), submit an elim kill (night), or do things related to your role(s). Am I missing anything?

Weeeeee! Good game, all. Thanks for running this, GMs and IM. Sorry I kinda forgot the dead doc existed until just now. Got too excited after getting my own at the start. I put zero effort into solving the game, (rightly) figuring that unless I softed Agent, I was going to be an early NK. I know I got exed for it, but I really thought someone would note the change in playstyle and neutral read me for it. Either way, I had lots of fun. Good work, elims! Edit: Jondesu, what was the key to your code? I tried to work it out and couldn't
-
Oh no! I'm tempted to sign up as someone with a two hundred-word title, but to demonstrate my self restraint, I'll merely enlist as as The Great Panini, wealthy patron of the arts and amateur ventriloquist. (His dummy's name is Bagel.) I also have questions. -What’s your target player count for this game? Basic Rules -When splitting up 50% of the deceased’s belongings, will you round their half total up or down if it’s an odd number? -Do the secret rules relate to anyone’s win conditions or the existence of unadvertised factions? -The rules say the kill is an action the Rebels must submit. May they forgo submitting it? Allomantic Roles -Will coinshot and elim kills be differentiated in the writeup? -Does the Oracle get the results of their scan immediately, or at rollover? -If a Pulser delays an action, can the targeted player still take two actions next cycle besides the additional one they take? -Are players informed if they are roleblocked/targeted by actions that mess with their actions? Feruchemical Roles -Does a roleblocked Brute succeed in storing their strength? -Does the Windwhisper learn who someone is PMing with that round or everyone they’ve PMed with so far? -Can the Archivist learn secret rules? -(Sidenote: The gasper rules are clever) -Can players start with multiple roles? Can they start with multiple roles of the same category? Regular Roles -Does the spike added to the market after the Hazekiller kill relate to their victim’s role or theirs? Boxings -Can boxings or items be passed between players outside of the Market? Is there any indication of who owns items being sold? -Am I correct in thinking that a 50 word analysis post wouldn’t count for boxing accumulation? Or is it cumulative? -If someone writes 200 words of RP and 200 words of game related discussion in the same post, does it generate two boxings? -If I use red text to cast a vote, but green it out before the end of the day, does that give me a boxing? If I vote multiple times during the day, does that give me multiple boxings? If my vote is tampered with through vote manipulation, does that have any effect on boxing accumulation?

Wooooooo! Good game, all. -Always nice to see your name mentioned 252 times in the elim doc. And only half of it was discussion of when to kill me! -This game was phenomenal. Thanks, GMs and IM, who I see also single handedly filled out the dead doc. And made a nifty post count chart! -Nice note, Gears. Sorry I had to divert credit away from you for a bit. -Thank you, and thank you to everyone who RPed with me in PM's (Dannex, Jondesu, and the elim team). RP PM's are something I've wanted to do for a while, and they had the potential to dissuade PM spying on me if I'd avoided breaking character with different people. It was a fun way to actually interact with RP characters. -"Oh there you are love! I haven't seen you all week, it's like you've been avoiding me. Perish the thought! I heard that you're impressively well educated! So tell me, are you shipping Sam and Professor Lenn as much as I am??" I am reliably informed that Azmine ghosted this hook because they didn't want to RP. :P. Some random quotes from the dead doc I like: "I got a PM from someone named “Archer”... I’m going to respond to it? And just act casual? -Vonne I am pleasantly surprised to learn that you were faking your hesitation to engage. My expectations for your next game are only slightly diminished by this gem: "Um. Survived execution? That’s a thing?" -Vonne "Archer is too easy to pocket smh" - Quinn "Great, keep him alive XD" -Mat Yes, please do. I'm an easy mark, no need to ever kill me. Useful idiot, that's meee And then there's the quote wall of Mat jinxing himself: "What would be really bad is Szeth going insane tonight oh my goodness that would be bad XD" "I hope there isn’t an Elder Sign Pendant floating around" and my personal favourite "Heh I hope Archer doesn’t scan me tonight -_-" Some game notes: -There was little in game reason not to have Dyer claim, catch an elim if someone falsely counter claims, or coordinate the scans if not. With a village Silence, that would have been able to seriously hinder NKs until Silence was found. I tried to avoid mayoring, going so far as to just coordinate in thread instead or not at all other times, but it'd have been nice if there was something that disincentivized that otherwise effective strat. -I liked having random item distribution. When Flyingbooks made their Surveyor claim, I was already more inclined to believe Quinn because they'd been on more consistently doing trustworthy things like sussing Araris (which seemed more meaningful than it was), but also I thought the GMs may have given a pendant to an elim to be trolley. The Fenweed Posion seemed like an elim item though. Or maybe that was just a lucky assumption. -Upon reading the dead doc I was reminded that this is a 15 person game.... Mat said 16 at some point, people corrected him, but I think I internalized the wrong number. Also, Masks aren't passive? That's useless. A lot of items weren't worth spending an action using when spying and scanning were options. In the last two cycles, the elims started making strategically terrible suggestions to me, but I was like, it's okay guys. I don't know how the rules work either. I won't sus you for it. *facepalm* -In a similar vein, I've read SfSitFoH, but it's been so long that I've forgotten... everything about it. So when Mat said Silence is thematically conf town, I believed him. Why would a trustworthy fellow like him lie about a thing like that? -There's things I regret missing, and tweaks that can be made, but overall, this was a solid game. Well done.

SNOOPS’ TRAVEL DIARY: THE FORREST OF DREAMS: DAY 47 I flipped the coin again. Heads. “That makes eight times in a row. You must have gimmicked it.” I threw it in the air once more. “Nope. It’s an ordinary coin.” Heads. “Can you make it land on the other side?” The copper spun lazily up and down. Tails. “Extraordinary. How are you doing it then?” “You’re the Professor, William. You tell me. All I know is ever since someone passed me this pendant in the night, I’ve had the devil’s luck.” He was quiet at that. Another noise broke the silence: a crackling wind. “Snoops, I don’t trust-” “Will, wait. What was that outside the tent?” “Just listen to me. That pendant is inscribed with an Elder Sign. The symbols speak of, of life draining. Rituals. Blood. I need time to study it, and until then I don’t want you carrying it around. Please…” He was cut off when the tent door snapped open, revealing a figure shrouded in, no made of shadows. A Shade, reaching directly for me. Grabbing my hair. Freezing me. Drinking my life away in a frenzy. “No!” William tried to smash at it. “Help!” He was far too late. I could feel my mind slipping into darkness. Everything seemed to blur, voices becoming incoherent. My editor is going to be so disappointed... And then, at the brink of no return… warmth. The pendant in my hand began to glow red and hot, hotter than a fire poker, but I couldn’t let go. AHISSSSSS. The Shade recoiled. William too was making noises of pain. They both shrieked, flailing in unison. “Sally? What are you doing!” He sounded so far away. My sleeves were beginning to burn. Smoke filled the space. Controlled by an unknown urge, I felt compelled to reach towards our party leader and touch the gem to his chest. I spoke words I had never learned. “Prey caught undefiled. I invoke my secret name. Wal-thlo-tal-mor, child. Your life be mine to claim.” The Shade groaned, and lunged toward his falling body, entering him as he collapsed to the ground, writhing. The lamp had gone out, but it seemed not to matter. I could see as well in the darkness as I could in broad daylight. I could see two hundred yards out of the tent, where a figure was crouching. Hiding and watching his handiwork. Familiar insects scuttled around his feet. “I see you, Philico. You can not hide from the magics that gave you power.” “Sally?” he called back. “Snoops, what are you talking about, I’m just…” Lies. “You killed Sally with your Shade,” I told him. “This body is sustained by a sacrifice. A life taken to fill a void.” Behind me, the last of William’s spirit left him, yanked by my pendant. I sighed contentedly. It felt good. I held up my hand, now branded with the symbol on the gem. “As I have been marked with an Elder Sign, I mark you, Sleepless One, for death. I will have your lifeforce, and with it, the knowledge how to use this gift.” I stepped towards him, dancing into the open night with glee. It was time to feast. Until next time. -Professor William Dyer *** I scanned Mat last night and saw them submit the kill on me. If you could vote for them please, Szeth, Azmine, I'd appreciate it.

I believe you are correct. They must have tried to move their vote and failed. Unless its a bluff and they really intentionally secretly changed to a no vote, that points towards the elims genuinely wanting Szeth dead, ya? I don't intend to scan tonight. No sense me risking insanity.

So the vote count at the end of the day was: Quinn 5, Szeth 1. Now it's 3, 2. We can assume that Quinn tried to use the Danforth vote move to save herself. That'd make it 4, 2. Had their teammate secretly voted alongside her, they had a shot at making it 3:3 and chose not to. Did they simply change to a no vote? Am I missing something? I'm okay with a shortened day, but I'm genuinely torn about who to vote for tomorrow. I'll take Saturday to make a decision. Eek. Ashbringer tried protecting someone else, and got caught. Enjoy the dead doc, Ash. I'm sure it's full of screaming. Jondesu, Quinn is confirmed evil. They're the only one who hasn't gone insane, meaning they must be Danforth. Why would you prefer to exe a possible elim over a confirmed one with vote manipulation powers? Quinn should vote for a villager, and manip my vote to copy hers. Her teammate will secretly vote for the same person. So I can't afford to double, and we can't afford any dissent. They're going to have three votes on a villager, we need all of ours on her. That forces a 3:3 tie, which is better than a 3:2:1 elim controlled exe. Edit: Quinn, if you're not Danforth, two other people are elims. Who do you reckon is the other? (Not that I believe it, given there's no reason to skip that role in the distro)

SNOOPS’ TRAVEL DIARY: THE FORREST OF DREAMS: DAY 46 I write today’s entry in a state of shock. Our group finds ourselves in the midst of a… religious disagreement. Two of our party have already revealed themselves to be Elder Things Worshippers. Fortunately, the majority of us follow a different path. After this adventure, I am now a stalwart believer in the Gods of Luck and Chance. *** Obviously, the logic holds that Quinn is Danforth, so tomorrow’s vote is going to be a formality. She will submit the NK, so scanning isn’t going to tell us anything. After the next three rounds, we’ll be left without Quinn and two less than myself, Ashbringer, Mat, Azmine, Szeth, and Jondesu. That’s a 3:1 ratio. A mix brings us to 2:1, then the NK ties it. Fortunately, the elim wincon is outnumber, so if I’m the last man standing, we win. Otherwise, it’ll be a coin flip. So we probably will get one good shot at picking off the final elim, then hopefully luck will continue to be on our side. I don’t have an action I can take tonight, besides risking insanity for a foregone conclusion. Maybe I’ll PM more people. I kinda stopped doing that when I thought I knew who was evil… I never suspected Quinn for a moment, so I think I’ll have to spend the next few days re-reading. Some random notes: -D1, Quinn voted for Mat and Araris, sussed me and Szeth, Nulled Azmine, and villaged Azmine (irrelevant individuals have been excluded). Since we know she was distancing from the get-go, it’s going to be difficult to figure things out. -Araris claims to have scanned Quinn N1, while Quinn claimed to scan Szeth. -Quinn’s action claim list is: D1: Spied on Az and Illwei [NAI on Az, I pressured her to do it] N1: Scanned Szeth D2: Spied on Illwei and Mat N2: Scanned Ash D3: Spied on Araris and Mat [This is fakable] N3: Scanned Dannex D4: No action N4: Scanned Books. [Also fakable] -On a quick scan, Araris wasn’t in as much danger as I thought, although I still get good vibes from Azmine directing Szeth towards them. But Szeth and Jondesu voted for Quinn near the end of D1. To quote Szeth, “Oh, I thought it was weird how you were so quick to accuse Araris, and how it was seeming like you were trying to cover that up. It's far from proof, but it's more evidence than we have against anyone else.” Meanwhile, Mat held their vote in reserve. I think my suspicions are edging towards Mat being the final elim. -Hey Quinn, if you were to have two players on your tennis team, who would you pick and why? -I think a good topic of discussion would be how can we make a balanced elim team based on the pieces we know to be in play? People have been villaging Jondesu for having an extra life like Araris, and I agree, but we may be able to figure out more if we do a role reveal party. (I'm being unduly over confident again, aren't I)

If Quinn flips elim (even by proxy, through a v!Books), Szeth is village. Voted for an elim, was voted on by one. Plus iirc Quinn has been sussing them for a while. He was certainly the top suspect in the first half, thanks to Quinn and lack of other leads. It was the kind of exe that could and did turn easily, but it was genuine pressure, even if it wasn't reflected by cast votes. Some people *cough Szeth* were suspicious but not willing to vote for him with what we had. beep beep that's a bus Just kidding. But I am assuming the 4th elim has to distance or die in this situation.

Can confirm I was asked by Quinn to ask Gears to PM them. I can believe there being two Surveyors, but if there is, it's quite possible that there's one on each team, so Flyingbooks having the role is inconsequential. I'm still stuck on Quinn's attack of Araris D1, so I'll throw a vote on Flyingbooks.
