  1. This is a pleasant surprise! I feel like Alvron got elected a little too easily, because the elims can afford to be more aggressive with the WL vote. Still not feeling Mat and Striker. Liranil is definitely good, she has my support tomorrow (in spirit). Then And Steeldancer owes me a cola. Szeth Fifth Steeldancer
  2. Ah yes association. Like how you and Elandera associated a lot! Village read each other etc. Tani, Biplet village read Striker, who I'm reading as an elim. That's my holdup about voting them. If you don't think I'm village, why are you voting for me? If you do, then support my bid. Or Szeth's. I'm starting to worry you're setting yourself to shift over to e!Biplet, but I'd be happy to be proved wrong Edit: Liranil is my new top village read y'all. What she said Doubel edit: MAAAAT I knew you were a good one never should have doubted you
  3. Personally, I'd like to be in the lead, but I'm okay with Szeth being elected. Biplet I'm pretty neutral on, so I'd rather she stay in 3rd than be a contender. I could remove my vote from Szeth, but I'm paranoid of Striker moving their vote and blowing both our chances. Edit: Also, Mat, you're really trying to sell TUO and Mist as top elim suspects? :P. Really?
  4. Thanks! I'm still suspicious of you though! I think we're looking pretty good for the vote that matters. That could all change quickly though, so hey Illwei, wanna vote? Lotus? Everyone else in this game? I don't think the elims will try to hammer this one through, but ya never know. I'd prefer to vote for active people before less active ones because as I think Mat said, reads are a thing. I've got village reads, might as well follow them. Mat is still evil too though. Voted Elandera and doesn't get a pass because they blatantly buddied up to them in the first two rounds, along with Striker. At least Fifth challenged them on stuff. Howdy, Mist! I like your instincts!
  5. Thank you both! Has Zelda gotten a scan off on that Knight? If Link fails to go 3 for 3, I think that'll be the obvious exe tomorrow. But it depends what happens. You think Dannex is faking it? It'd be risky if they were wrong. Oi! Why am I being sussed?
  6. Do we only have one Postman? Is there two and people are confused which is good and which is evil? What’s the holdup? It’d be really nice to have some scan results because TUO’s flip has knocked my whole line of inquiry out of whack. TJ’s no longer cleared, Drake isn’t as suspicious as before, and I’m sure as top suspects, they’ve been scanned already so exing them could be a big, preventable mistake. I’m okay waiting until tomorrow to hear from Zelda’s representative, given there’s little anyone other than Link can do right now, but some insights would be nice. I hope you’ve used the last few days to figure out a plan. My gut reaction to the flip was to continue sussing Drake. I don’t think a villager with the information we had would so confidently refuse to exe TUO. I’d thought it was an e/e thing, but maybe it’s just that they had special knowledge, as they know the elim team. The dude even tried to make a bet with me in our PM that my reads were wrong. So obviously he and TJ, as the only ones really reluctant to join the TUO train, are elims being contrarian for village cred. That’s a reasonable analysis. But I know it’s heavily tainted by confirmation bias. I need to let it digest some more before I try to start clean and figure this web out. Hopefully our conf goods come through again and give us something to work with because I don't know if I have the confidence to lead another charge at someone tomorrow. * "Hey, kid, what's another name for an embedded URL?" "I AM LINKOV!" "Hyperlink? I guess you do seem kinda revved up today..."
  7. Huh. An accountable politician. Fantasy stories are great. They did. That was villagery. Then they got confused. That was unfortunate That's why I added this and moved to just make them WL. They made some valid points against Elandera. I wish they hadn't then voted for two elims, but hey, people get confused. Or wanted an elim flip to happen so we can knock down some dominoes. It's probably the former, but I'm not holding it against them because of the pressure they applied to a flipped elim in the quoted post. I'd also be cool with voting Liranil and Illwei, who seem unconnected to anyone suspicious.
  8. Feel free to PAFO this, @Biplet, but am I correct in thinking that the only way Duriens can change hands between players right now is if they're given to one of the players who votes off someone holding one during the Day exe? Item passing isn't in this game and transferring a Durien through a kill done at night doesn't apply here, ya?
  9. Ack! Still not used to seeing my name in red being a good thing. I hope you feel better soon. Fifth looks village because this response to Elandera holding back their vote seemed pretty e/v: "Can't remember if someone pointed this out earlier, but I don't like your equivocatory stance on voting here. Unless you're the Tineye, you'll never be able to trust anyone enough to elect them, so you kind of have to vote from what you have. And the earlier you do that, the more the thread can look at you, the more information we get, the more analysis progresses, etc., the better. (Mainly, etc.) So while I do agree with you on Szeth, you've also now joined him on my list of people who I'm probably not voting in anytime soon." Plus Striker preffered Elandera to Fifth for the WL election, and tried to get Steeldancer to move their vote. https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/98076-mid-range-game-51-come-on-down-to-irontown/?do=findComment&comment=1245044 I'll admit though, they did end up on Elandera and Mat because they liked the people voting for them (why does everyone use that highly suspicious reason??). So I'd be okay moving to Szeth, who had this gem: "I feel like Striker, Elandera, and Mat are only voting within themselves, with one notable exception. I’m still very suspicious of Striker based on his actions D1, and I just feel like my suspicions are getting stronger... This [Striker] post especially reads very strangely to me. The statement about not wanting to have one Worker Leader the entire game feels like it goes against the village wincon. Can you (Striker) tell me a reason why having multiple different WL’s during the game is actually helpful? And “Oh, I just don’t want to feel like one person is hogging it” doesn’t count. Plus, I don’t see the reasoning for voting Elandera. Is it just because they support your suspicions of me? The bottom paragraph is ok, but I could see a Mat/Striker e/e situation here." I don't entirely agree about their dislike of multiple WLs, but the pressure they put on my theorized elim team of Mat/Striker/El seems too on the nose to be mere distancing. https://www.17thshard.com/forum/topic/98076-mid-range-game-51-come-on-down-to-irontown/?do=findComment&comment=1245461 Fifth Szeth In retrospect, bribe is a bad word for it. I think the elims were trying to recieve trust from villagers by giving trust out. I'd initially thought they wanted to elect one of their own, but it was probably more just they wanted you to trust them, so they trusted you. Human nature does the rest, and oh you have double votes so it's even better for them if you support their election. Sorry for the added stress.
  10. I CTRL+Fed Elandera's name, and here's what I got: Cycle One -Elandera votes Tani for worker leader. Says getting a good vibe from them, and is a bit suspicious of Szeth for quickly trusting Striker "who is usually suspected by everyone D1, so I'm less likely to vote for either of them." Interestingly, it was completely ignored by all mentioned parties -Elandera provides some neutral analysis on hammering. I respond to said analysis saying I'll self hammer if given the chance. -Fifth agrees with El's Tani vote, but says they dislike their equivocatory stance on voting" re: El saying they don't trust anyone enough to vote for them to be elected. Encourages them to vote early and often. Looks pretty e/v to me. -El responds to my hammer comment and says we should keep an eye on the IC candidate's votes to prevent self hammers. Responds to Fifth and says they commonly vote late, don't trust Szeth, Striker, or me. And doesn't think we should trust Tani just for being experienced. Votes to elect TJ. -TJ village reads Elandera -Striker trusts Elandera, TJ, myself and tentatively Tani. Nulls Szeth. Cycle Two: TJ is elected by Mat, Striker, Elandera and myself, and Tani becomes WL thanks to Mat, Striker, Elandera, myself, and Biplet -Mat proposes we elect El and make Striker the WL, prioritizing El because of the difference of opinion Striker and they allegedly share -El says they'd like Tani around longer, so WL votes them, then votes to elect Mat. Susses Szeth, says they want the vote off Striker. I'm reading the Tani vote as an implicit bribe, and the Mat vote as helping a teammate out, hoping one of them will make it through. When the two of them discuss Striker it reads like distancing. It's a tossup why they went out of their way to sus Szeth so much -I sus Elandera, instead supporting Szeth -Striker supports "either Tani or Elandera" for WL, but votes El. Votes Mat for election. Also susses Szeth. -Szeth points out Striker-Mat-El are voting for each other, says they don't see the reasoning behind the Elandera vote. This reads super villagery too -Striker says they're voting El and Mat because he's village reading them and they're viable wagons as others have voted for them, both this cycle and last -Szeth again asks why support Elandera? Just because they share your suspicions? -Striker responds that "they're like my only other option... that isn't Fifth, who's giving me weird vibes" -Szeth downgrades their village read of Mat and suggests a Striker/El/Mat/+2 team -I second that, with Tani in the mix -Szeth replies to Mat about the MaStEl buddying up -Araris votes to elect El, WL Biplet. Says they trust people voting for her, like that she voted TJ -Fifth says he dislikes my 'basically a flipped view of Elndera from me about the Szeth situation too, which ironically is making me more likely to vote on her despite my D1 misgivings". Mentions Striker and Mat and El seem connected, maybe Striker using v!El and v!Mat. Votes Elandera because he likes the people voting on her, WLs Mat -El retracts their election vote for Mat for not doing enough to be village read that round, though she'd rather have him than Szeth, who she dislikes because they sus Striker, who they trust because TJ trusted them. Election votes Striker. Makes it El (3), Szeth (3*), Striker (2), Mat (1). -Striker says they'd be down to vote Elandera or Szeth Isn't that contradictory? -Steeldancer votes Elandera because they are sheeping active players. WLs Fifth. -Striker advocates for El for WL over Fifth, @s Steeldancer over it Which makes me think Steeldancer really was just sheeping. -I sus Elandera, vote to elect Striker -Striker advocates against WL being an RNG between him and Fifth, so they remove their vote from El and instead support Mat. At this point El was in the lead to be elected, so it would have been a waste to have her win both. -El uses pretty colours that are certainly just mind games, so I'll ignore them. * So, what have we learned? Elandera is closely tied to Matrim and Striker, so both look suspicious. All three have a crusade against Szeth which they've really leaned into. Based on how on the nose their comment about the buddying up was, I suspect they're eee/v, but I'd like to hold of voting them until after I and Fifth get elected just in case it's distancing. Fifth and myself look good for challenging El at various points. And Araris looks scummy for using 'trust the people voting for her, so I do too' to vote Elandera. I'm not too worried about Steeldancer's vote, but just to be safe I'll avoid supporting them for now because they supported an elim's election. And Tani doesn't look like the elims tried to elect them as one of their own, rather, they used her election for village cred and to get the double voter on their side. I think I'd suspect Lotus over her. Fifth
  11. I'd buy that cheese grater. TJ, your job is now to confuse Elander as much as possible. :P. Everybody who supported Elandera at any point, kindly explain why you should be trusted. Because it's not a great look. * Ah ha! An equal gender ratio has been achieved on our Council! See how democracy triumphs over monarchy to achieve greater equality in society? - Chalkboard
  12. You do not need to make a stats wiki. That is unnecessary and unexpected of anyone. The point of confusion is I went to someone's About Me page once and they had a link to another site where they played mafia and kept records of all their games including alignment, death time, game notes etc. I misremembered and thought it was you, and had thought it might be useful to look at. I apologize for the confusion. If you're a villager, killing you is a waste of the exe. It brings the elims closer to winning by shrinking our team and gives them more opportunities to kill our conf goods at Night, because the game continues longer. So either you're an elim bluffing to avoid getting exed, a conf good bluffing to avoid the NK, or a genuinely busy player who should be using OOC opportunities to leave the game, such as pinch hitters. It makes no sense to exe you based on a face value reading of your request. So either you're running a gambit by bluffing or should be talking to the Impartial Moderator for assistance. I can't tell which it is.
  13. Alright, I'm still not feeling Elandera, but on reread, Szeth feels a little !!y. I'm taking eagerness as an elim tell in this game, because it's an excuse to want to be elected. So Szeth and Steel dancer are off my vote list, as are Elandera and Mat. I'm still not seeing what people like about El, their analysis was pretty neutral and their vote was good, but so was four other people's. I'm getting evil vibes from them. Ignore the fact that they're voting for Striker right now because I'm getting good vibes from him Striker Szeth Edit: The Lord Ruler uses his Church to divide us into believers and non, to stoke divisions between his puppet Upper Class and the workers, and between workers and workers to prevent class consciousness. That's going to get me executed. Good thing I use a pen-name. - Chalkboard
  14. Good correction. And good catch! I'd misremembered and thought the Pyro vote was in defense of TUO, not Illwei I think the RNG is more suspicious than the Pyro vote. I was on the Pyro train too, but for Drake, in context, it looks like a way to subtly move on from a teammate's exe (TUO or Illwei, take your pick). I think he faked RNGing. If I didn't know better, I'd swear you two were distancing though. After TUO flips elim, Drake is the obvious next choice given their defence of them today, so I'd rather take the bird in hand than risk what is see as like a 20% of failure? I think I'm 99% sure of TUO, 80% on Drake. Drake is avoiding the logical courses of action in favour of stretched reasoning, but he's doing it so blatantly that it almost gives me pause. As far as I know, Drake has some Mighty Bananas, by the way. Yay, PM was useful for something. At this point, it's a good enough case that I suspect Link will take care of them tonight. I'd rather not split the vote and have the elims obviously hammer but manage to use the Night turns that buys them to kill our conf goods. Best elim team guess right now is TUO (defence by two elims), Drake (RNG, revealed my PM, defended elims), Tani (who I thought had a stats wiki, but I was mistaken. Also they seem to be engaged in a gambit right now), and probably one less active person to bring us to six. Purple gave me bad vibes for their vote on me; seemed kinda like the elim doc suggested it.
  15. Right, I figured it out. Striker, Mat, Elandera, AND Tani are all elims. *dunks* This game is so easy it's like I know the whole elim team. *runs victory lap* wooooo Alright, I still feel bad about Ealndera, but not so bad that I'm going to make a concerted effort to block their election. If they're evil, we'll know tomorrow and have three people we know not to trust. That's worth the cost. Then if they're village, yay, we're still winning. How does one play this game, it beguiles me with its simplicity.
  16. I'm a little confused what kind of information you're fishing for. Not many people will have scan results, so it'd jsut be roleclaims? Everything else should be publicly available 26/4 is 6.5, so it should be 6 elims, with one of them being a Thug. Edit: Drake is confusing me, because I suspect TUO has been written off by the elims by now. I still believe he's ignoring the obvious in favour of paranoia, but that's his sword to die on. Keeps it interesting! Also, Dannex, I'd like to know if you any scan results. Perhaps we could get them shortly before the end of the Night turn? In case you die, we'll have them, but the elims won't be able to switch the NK fast enough to react to it kinda thing. And obviously still be cautious of outing anyone needlessly
  17. Upon further consideration, this kinda feels like a desperate elim tactic. If its an OOC thing, it should be dealt with OOC. I'd white text that, but I'm on mobile, which is where running jokes go to die. Hey Dannex, are you in contact with Zelda and able to reveal scan results? I'm hoping they got one off on Tani. Araris said quoteish "I'm the most confident I've ever been D1 that TUO is village". That's very out of character for him. TUO got some serious scrutiny D1. If he was evil, his teammates may have been forced to defend them. Is your theory they just wanted to look good off his village flip? Wouldn't it be suspicious how confident they were? why must you start acting evil when I was easing up on my elim read of you :/ Steel who Illwei had as their top suspect? You're correct, I wouldn't vote for them. :P. TUO's flip is very indicative of TJ's alignment, so by the end of Today you should have some of the info you seek. Edit: also, if TUO claims Link, I won't believe them, by the way. Just putting that out there for later
  18. Now that we have at least one elim off of Illwei's trust list, I'm actually less singlemindedly interested in hunting through it for elims. So I'm not going to vote for you, Tani, today! Dannex probably survived because the elims expected Mipha to protect them. I have two theories: -Link was redirected, in which case, his cover is blown and we should begin panicking and Zelda needs to go into deep cover -Link didn't want to kill someone Zelda might scan, so they used their smarts and made a good unexpected selection Based on their bluetext about their tennis tournament, their inactivity wasn't intentional. Otherwise I'd be a little irked if that strat was employed intentionally. Araris poked Ashbringer, fake claimed a joke role to get on Illwei's village reads list presumably, asked for a Kas PM, advocated for consolidation of votes and held his in reserve to vote on someone who seemed like a viable exe target, voted for Azmine, supported Illwei's read of TUO being TWTBAW, then said they were as confident as they'd ever been that TUO was village, switched from Azmine to TUO D1. D2 they voted Ashbringer again, argued his analysis was invalid, and got needled by Mat. From this, I believe Ashbringer, TJ, and Azmine are cleared. TUO appears to be an elim who got in trouble early and needed his teammates to bail him out. Illwei on her own supporting him could be misdirection, but two seems too much to ignore. TUO Unless anyone has any objections, this cycle is probably gonna be pretty quiet and straightforward. Soooo anyone got any ideas on how we can protect our conf goods now that Mipha has died?
  19. Not sure how to feel about Lotus not wanting to be elected. Isn't that yer job as a villager? Its a low confidence assessment, but I'm currently theorizing a Mat-Elandera-Tani team. Mat and Elandera just voted for each other, which is an obvious connection, and last round they were in sync too. If they are evil, I can see them prioritizing getting teammate Tani two votes over getting an elim elected. So it's on my radar. I still suspect Mat for the RNG idea post. Elandera was hesitant to cast an election vote, which seems like an elim holding it in reserve for a good opportunity to elect a teammate. In addition, this line "I'm a bit suspicious of Szeth for that severe and quick trust in Striker, who is usually suspected by everyone D1, so I'm less likely to vote for either of them," didn't hold water for me. To test my theory, I'd like to try electing Szeth, who Elandera suspects. Szeth Lotus
  20. I'd still love to hear everyone's suggestions for scans/the Link kill. Crowdsourcing is never a bad idea. I'll repeat my request for a Drake scan, as it'll potentially clear the four who voted for him in the CW. It also concerns me that the Tani wagon never got traction. That can be a sign of evilness. Illwei's other one plus reads are Alv, who I trust based on that post where they agreed with me and voted Tani, Azmine, who is a low poster, Araris, who has been remarkably quiet and I agree with whoever said usually is more suspicious of odd vote patterns like we've seen, Waffles, who has been low impact, and TUO, who they adamantly defended. Those are where I want to focus our attention on to exhaust the leads from Illwei's flip. Ashbringer, your final suspect list after your analysis was Stick, Steel, Mat, Archer. I trust Mat, and very trust Steel based on Illwei's suspicions of them, so this seems well off the mark. Dannex, if you find another person with your role, a Postman, or a Knight, you should think about mentioning that, since a villager of each of those has already either been exposed or in the case of the Postman who set me and Drake up, set themselves up to win a Postman-Postman sus off. And watch for whatever the Thug was called. Village Mipha = elim Thug. So Jond's question was valid.
  21. Yay, we're winning. A reminder to the elims, so long as we keep picking Workers without needing the Tineye to nudge us in the right direction, it'll be nigh impossible to guess who they are at the end. Y'all better add some pressure. :P. That said, I can imagine the elims would be willing to drop a round in order to get a few of them village-read, so I'm not going to trust anyone solely because they voted for TJ. Interesting the same people decided both elections, minus Biplet on the TJ vote. I'm a little surprised how much support Tani got, so that's noted. Might be elims trying to butter her up, might be she is their preferred representative. We vote again every round for WL, right? Just to switch it up, I'll throw support behind Fifth this time. I might be inclined towards info 'kills' layer in the game, but for now I think I'll focus on the people without as much to read. Hey, Lotus, how do you feel about being elected? lotus * A wise Terris once told me of an advanced community that lives beyond that mountains that has adopted an egalitarian lifestyle. They are led by true democracy, not a ruling class, and work to meet each other's needs, not fill the demands of a profit motive. They have developed such wonderful technology as a result. Airships. Magic storing medallions. Something called a 'hot dog'. Imagine the potential if we used the tools developed under our current economic structure for the good of society, not just a wealthy few. Imagine the power we could wield! - Chalkboard
  22. Storytime! I hopped on the Shard shortly after I woke up, thinking that I had a half hour to go. Then someone mentioned rollover was imminent, so I look at the last VC and go aaaaaaaah. Stick is in a comfortable lead for reasons I dislike, but hello, Mat and Devo are voting for Drake now so that's the only viable CW I can support with two minutes to go. So I submit an action to use Mighty Bananas and vote on Drake. Afterwards, the GMs told me I had misunderstood what Mighty Bananas does. I thought it doubled my vote, turns out it cancels one and needs to be targeted. So that didn't go through, and Stick died instead. (Which is fair, by the way. The mistake was mine.) They were my best clear off of Illwei's flip, so I'm baffled how they got so many votes. I definitely think it was helped along by the elims. Anyway, let's go around and suggest who we'd like Zelda to scan tonight and Link to kill. My picks would be Tani/Drake and TUO. I suspect the NK will be Dannex.
  23. Gah. I think rollover is in a minute so here's a vote change. Don't like the stick wagon at all. Drake
  24. Bruh, I'm just here for the sociology. Once I'm through my notes on Marxist critiques of capitalism I'll try to get voted up and leave it up to you guys to figure out the final showdown :P. If Steel was doing it directly, I'd actually be less suspicious. Doing it through RP seems like a way to be a step removed from being elimyly power hungry. I think the elims are probably trying a few different methods of getting the double votes, and will lean into whichever works best. But villagers have reason to want the votes too. I don't find it overly suspicious. I like the look of Steel voting for Fifth after Fifth voted for them. E!Fifth = v!Steel Hence why I want you to have the double votes. You're in a better mindset than I for this, and are more likely to catch common elim tells. I want Fifth and Tani around the longest to guide us through things. I'll keep the vote on Tani because they're in a comfortable lead. run it again... with you as an elim? :P. (Does Tani like being evil, do we have records on this. Check their stats wiki) I gotta admit, if put in an intentional tie for elevation, given the means, I will drop my own vote to ensure I get through. So long as it guarantees my ascension, I don't see why I wouldn't. The only person I can fully trust is me. I expect anyone in a similar person would do the same, evil or good. Alvron Avalon Alvicon.
