Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar
Archer replied to Ashbringer's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I won't vote Xino, No sir, no ma'am. They're always vote conscious, Sam I Am. In retrospect, I think my observation was more theory based than a proper read on Xino because they post VCs a lot so that's what they focus on. It's weird, but I'm not ready to say it's weird for them with confidence when I could just. Cast a playstyle vote on someone... I feel bad about it to so I'm gonna steal the Alv-Wiz e-e theory as my justification, stemming from that Alv sussing me post being possibly a defence of Wiz. That's all I have time for today, see ya tomorrow.- 1292 replies

To Shining: Hey TUN, can you PM me? I have thoughts. Turtle, would it help you keep track of genders if we all changed our usernames for a month? It's going to happen regardless of what you answer. :P.- 1292 replies

is it wrong to village read Alv for not using the NK to commit their vendetta The difference is you're doing it as a matter of efficiency, maximizing your thread impact with the least amount of effort. My argument with TUN is they are more likely to be just saying they are breaking their trend for the sake of shaking things up but really be doing it as cover for a scummy vote. Because they don't have your grounding philosophy- 1292 replies

Oh boy. I have 15 quotes to drop, so I'm going to bold the ones that actually matter. are you saying it's... cowed Potentially e-e observation I thought he was MAT Player who just admitted they don't poke vote very often is more likely to be using it as cover to defend a teammate than someone else is His obsession with Turtle was a red flag for me but it's probably just a case of Kas will talk a lot regardless of how much there is to talk about. there's a platypus offering lunch on page two, I think That's a sorry reason to hold off voting on someone. Reads as e-e Good question. It'd be a bad question to answer, but it's good to ask I tried. :(. SE tends to have pretty weak team discipline in the sense that people don't come down hard on you for acting out a little bit. Probably a moot aspect to explore. :P. I like this premise. I'll happily vote Xino for playing to the VC not their suspicions Are you getting Quinn-Illwei v-v threadbrawl vibes? This person is hyper-focused on the VC Nonsense. He's obviously doing it as an elim, while you, a villager, are acting with the best of intentions. I blame you for the overloaded thread state :P.- 1292 replies

The key word was moot - as in not indicative either way That's a good reminder that the endgame favors the elims because their odds of item acquisition go up Do you? :P.- 1292 replies

Yeah that checks out. 5 which would have turned to 6 on 21 makes sense. Tweedle-son-Dee reached into his... back pocket and produced a dirty Oathstone. "This! Best meal. You! Worst meal." To prove their his point, he swallowed it again as a second course.- 1292 replies

Long Game 91: A Fresh Start in Shinovar

Y'all are overexplaining this. v!Turtle has a history of being an apologetic voter, so it's moot. Didn't want to say that earlier because a preemptive defense ruins the pressure Stick was trying to apply. Now that I've quickly glanced at the rules, lets throw some distribution guesses out there. Ash said they could accommodate up to 21 players (before they had to significantly alter the distro), so that should be informative. The first piece a GM figures out (and therefore is hesitant to move) is the e;v ratio. I'd guess 21+ would force 7, while our current number has six elims. Lets assume a villager Shaman, using similar logic as my argument for v!Beedle in the Zelda game. Lets guess all the blades are in play, because why make mechanics if you aren't going to use them. The village potentially having the ability to yoink blades away from elims might also imply heavy stocking of the elim armory? We for sure have Jezrien's blade, which is an elim kill scan. Giving the elims Shalash or Pailiah for the Illumination (scan block) makes sense as a counter measure. Chanarach is probably in village hands because the Division kill power is more balanced there. Vedel or Pailiah therefore should go to the elims to give them a Progression killblock. Then I'd probably give the elims a Transformation blade scanner from Shalash or Battar. Or a vote manip to balance the amount of village players they need to work against. So I'm gonna guess the elims have Shalash, Pailiah, and uh, Ishar! Thoughts? "MORE ROCK!" Tweedle-son-Dee shouted, tripping over their own feet as they rushed to the dinner. "ROCK ROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCKS!- 1292 replies

Do you wanna vote for Wiz with me for the sin of random voting? It's the least useful type in terms of the information it provides. I see your midnight and raise you 2am! * Tweedle-son-Dee awoke with a bellyache, having eaten his oathstone. He wondered if he'd have room for turkey later.- 1292 replies

you mean, less GM work :P. This is a generally cool idea. I feel like this would play better as a QF. The payoff being so delayed might be frustrating if it takes a week IRL. There's not as much traditional analysis to be done, especially if players develop confidence in their trust circles, so it could get stale. Is the movement of a vote declared by the GM? To confirm, players don't know who else is in their faction?

Kas, I can't quote you on mobile so here's bullet points: -We have an urgency difference. You don't want to waste C1, I was building towards a more meaningful C2 -Given my sussing of Mat in the LG for not voting and my self awareness demonstrated by announcement of my intentions, you can conclude I'm taking a stance on voting I don't fundamentally agree with (at the expense of C1 progress - the theoretical tradeoff is one vote for more meaning behind all the other votes) -The goal was to entice opportunistic votes, which would be noticeable by their hasty reasoning. Too easy clears would also be sus. It's largely based on the reasoning expressed. -On the subject of Xino's vote, I should be sussed more for PMing Xino. I'd forgotten about their vote by the time I did, but it looks like e!me trying to privately reduce the pressure on me -I read Xino village for the VCs because they specifically do that as a villager, but I normally read that as elim. It's weird how many we've had. -For future reference, my guess would be the elims voted early this round so they wouldn't forget. A two man team especially should be worried about risks because 2 on 8 is scary. -I suspect the elims held off on making PMs until they decided who they needed to target for networking. Casual conversation isn't top of mind so they might as well reserve the resource.

Your Wiz comment is people who post reads deserve trust then you post some reads. Well played! Counterpoint: 40% chance of a e!me dying is worse :P. Technically speaking, I deserve trust if you take me at my word.

I'm gonna pull the plug on this now, because I expect that this will be the most popular response After three pages of memes, me saying something controversial is utility. And when I make posts like this, I'm trying to engage a wider audience. I recognize that you have a shorter deadline due to timezones, Kas, but you've got to read the room. If you wallpost, you discourage hot takes from my target demographic. The reason you're drawn to this is the reason you should have let it simmer; it's the only readable thing going on right now. Anyway, Xino casually told me they probably weren't going to make PMs, which is villagey. Elims gotta spider y'know. Turtle calling their vote a poke is scummy. Oh and the GMs told me off recently for quoting the exact time of a PM message, so round to the nearest hour, y'all.

Fun fact, PMs last forever. This is good because I don't think xino will get back to me this round I'd like to add when did make the PM to the discussion question Ah, that green ghost Do you think Kas is overreacting to my plan, TUN?

how actually if you have that good of a memory can you tell me if Xino ever used the blue graph format before the recent LG? I swear he did and couldn't find it. Edit: "this is a QF that can take a toll on the Village due to Violation" -Kas Technically I can't be violated if I don't vote so at least one village will be okay "I'm pretty sure Mat's the one leading this expedition, hun." Gale checked her clipboard. "Oh never mind, I just crossed the streams and confused them with someone else." She prodded Jal's belly with her pencil, sizing them up. "You're a big softy, huh! Visit my tent later, I'm doing a casting call for my marshmallow commercial." [OOC: Are you softing your item being Silver Dust? :3]

Cool, Shining was a Thug. That's less of a deus ex machina than the sudden appearance of an alignment scanner late in the game, but it would have been a good insurance asset :D. I wouldn't hammer that far out from rollover. Also, hopefully you caught onto the fakeness of the anger from that earlier post - I was just seeding disinformation. Found my quote of the game already. A close second is: Thanks for letting me sub in, Devo. sorrrry The study of society. :P. We aim to see the general in the particular, which means the social forces behind individual actions. Generally the goal is to critique the social forces that produce inequities. For example, in heteronormative single vehicle households, husbands often have dibs on use of the car. This act of male privilege allows men to travel further for work, which expands their job prospects and allows them to accrue more wealth. That's an unjust outcome we can link to systemic sexism, classism, and automobilism. I need to make a game around the concept of Kas being a confirmed good player who can only talk in a publicly viewable doc. That's... a lot of pages! Anyway, I really enjoyed this game. Everyone played well, especially the new people! Thanks for running this, Araris, Elandera.
