  1. Feeling a little embarrassed to see I absolutely bailed Mat out C1 (sorry Aman). And it's a good thing I died before pushing a Wit exe. But otherwise, everything worked perfectly, ammiright Thanks for running this, GM, IM. I liked that the game was complex while still having a comprehensible rules doc.
  2. Writing and reading RP is hard for me. So I think the compromise I'm going to make for myself is I'll be posting an average of three posts per Day, with each one coming after I consolidate enough thoughts to feed an RP beat. If I try much more, I think I'm going to lose my thread and ability to engage the way this game wants me to. I'm in as Wendawa the Soothsayer, who hasn't noticed there's toilet paper stuck the bottom of his foot.
  3. I've got QF69 ready to go, so this is a courteously ping to check if @Karnatheon wants the slot instead. Otherwise, signups will be up shortly, with plans to start on November 27th, around C3 of Araris' game.
  4. I got so in my head about the perception of having an extra life that I tricked myself pleasejustshootmetonight also Mat because the margins are too slim to be the extra credit
  5. I predicted a WGG to Araris during C1, but you can't verify that. I understand that as the vote manipulator, in what's essentially a coin flip decision, it makes the most sense to exe me first. Or just DK to prevent exlo, although you have to mind the redirection potential. If I live, roleblocking offensively + vote manip is probably more valuable than protecting defensively, so I'm going to stop at 3rd Ideal. I don't want an EOD tomorrow where I end up in 2nd and get an extra life, leading to a big mess C5. Mat
  6. What reason do I have to believe you're village? The e!Mat evidence is strong. And he consistently supported you, so you're probably evil teammates
  7. My money is on Mat, Devo, Wit. I feel very validated right now
  8. This is exactly my point. You're hitting everyone for little things, trying to death by a thousand cuts their reputation, but you're keeping it spread out. You're positioned to support pretty much any exe My theory is either TJ was inactive at a time when Wit was under heavy pressure so you made the decision that you needed to put double the effort into not losing on C1 (and have since sort of been neutral about TJ), or Devo was under heavy pressure C1 so you cut them loose and started distancing, while hard committing to protecting your remaining teammate because if they die, you're done for anyway. It makes sense in the context of the pressure that's been applied. I can't think of why else you'd be so obsessed with defending Wit. Could be true, but it's a team decision with unusual parameters. I wouldn't doubt the elim doc contains e!Mat consternation The volunteering GIF was unusual for you. I think you've been trying to add some humor to your game to cover your maneuvering. Your play has been characterized by trying to do stuff, but not pushing very hard if you don't get support. I think you're trying to set up plays, but settling because you're afraid to take big swings that fail oh well if Kas says so, it must be true! :P. Night Kill Analysis? How do you feel about Mat obsessively defending you?
  9. Mat’s vibes are off. 1/ They’re going out of their way to keep everyone on the suspect list. They trust Kas and Aeoryi, but they don’t vocalize it much. I helped save them C1, and I think they’ve avoided criticizing me to maintain the pocket, but they haven’t been very forthcoming in our PM. I feel like v!Mat would trust me more for the assist – but e!Mat needs me dead before I become a problem. Anyway, here’s some examples of Mat making sure everyone is in exe consideration: Experience: we can’t ignore them, they must be suspected! C1P2 - he had nothing to say but wanted to post because he felt obligated to post. It didn't feel natural to me. The SU is regrettable but I don't exactly want to ignore him the entire game . I wish he'd just not signed up but what's done is done Stink: Gotta shade him for being active C1P5 -I kind of feel bad reading Stink as evil for posting more game related thoughts than he did all last game but that's where my brain is going. C1P7 - This is where I get in the state I was last game where I feel like you have to be village for engagement reasons but also you keep doing things I do not understand :|. C2P3 - I kind of read Stink as evil for engaging with the game, which feelsbad, but after the LG I feel like that's mildly justified Araris: no giving away cheap village cred, Kas C1P1 - Kas, I know they’re your bros, but you can’t v read someone who hasn’t posted (re Araris) C1P5 - I think I lean village on Araris for the same reason (I liked his analysis post) but that's totally an effort read that is probably unwarranted and I should really go read his post again JNV: weird votes bro C1P2 - Can't decide if I like JNV's vote or not because half of my brain is saying JNV is jumping on something too easy >> C1P5 - Rereading I haven't loved JNV's votes (more on that below) [re: Archer vote] C1P9 - That was where I was going to vote you [aman] but now I don’t know what is happening [votes JNV instead] Raven: you’re new, you can have some trust… until you’re in contention, which is when I suddenly suspect you C1P3 - Ravenclaw's most recent post seems overly dictionary, if you know what I mean. C1P4 - Village points to both Raven and Wit for openness and honesty respectively C1P5 - How did you feel about their responses to you? I found them to be more put-together than I’d have expected from a new player elim under interrogation, but that isn’t going to be true for every new player. [arguing against voting them] I definitely lean village. C2P1 - I missed that Raven voted Aman. That’s… weird. C2P3 – [votes Raven] You’re pinging me because you want an explanation for my vote, I guess? Kas’ megapost proves how your slot is kinda connected to everything, and reading back your answers from yesterday I’m not as content with them as I was. I also don’t like how you popped in to comment on the anon messages— it shows you’re following the thread close enough to see the comment, but neglecting to post about anything actually relevant. C2P3 - Raven putting the lead train and their countertrain as mild elim off of solely the first page of cycle one because of a lack of content is… objectively a bad look. Isn't suspecting everyone that whole point of this game? Sure. But consider the Stink example. Do those digs feel natural to you? Or are they Mat keeping the suspect pool as wide as possible? 2/ Except! They’re weirdly protective of Wit. Mat goes out of their way to advocate for Wit. Both cycles, they have loudly defended them, then weirdly floated the idea of voting for them at the end of the cycle. I suspect they’re trying to maneuver them into 2nd place. C1 they mentioned it but didn’t act, likely because the votes were too chaotic to track. C2 they again float it within the framing of them voting them to exe them, without saying as much. In the context of their previous support for Wit, it looks like a poorly disguised attempt to boost them into 2nd without looking like he’s trying to boost them. C1P7 – [do we want Wit to get 2nd?] I wouldn’t mind it I suppose. I’d prefer getting Archer up (or me :P) but amidst all this EoD madness I’m starting to understand why people weren’t too keen on the idea of planning for this >> C1P9 - Wait are we giving Aman the ideal right now I’m not comfy with that….[aman self votes] Stahhhp ;-; This nearly makes me want to vote Wit lol C2P5 - Not to mess with this nice silence we got going on but this is eerily different from last turn, is that just me? Like it's lowkey making me want to vote Wit because that's the easiest explanation for the difference between the two turns. Or vote JNV for only RPing :P. More protective comments to give you a sense of how many there are (and how starkly different they are to his suspicion of everyone else): 3/ Araris makes sense as a Mat NK. Mat village read them aka couldn’t find a good reason not to. Araris threatened to vote them over how last game went. 4/ Mat badly wants that second place Ideal bump. Them gunning for the Ideals through RP and voting isn’t unusual. But they make sure to volunteer for second and also not try too hard to make the second place thing work out, despite being very in favor of setting that up in theory. Trusted!them is a likely candidate for it, so it's self serving. I expected a more passionate effort from them to make it happen, but e!them needs to avoid actually trusted villagers getting the boost. And e!they didn't get any traction for their preferred options so they just let it slide onto middling options. C1P1 - My first instinct is to use the second place vote intentionally to promote people we trust, rather than let it play out normally. It’s a tool we’ve been given, and I’d prefer publicly taking advantage of it so that the elims can’t. C1P2 - We could call that out, and I'm imagining it to be a bit more formal, but mostly what I'm trying to avoid is the number two suspect getting an Ideal. Maybe I care more about this having just come off games where I primarily voted people not on the leading train. C1P3 - I’d love to hear a better explanation of why letting the second vote lie is the better option C1P7 –but amidst all this EoD madness I’m starting to understand why people weren’t too keen on the idea of planning for this >> C2P2 - This is where I would say "I told you so" but I completely forgot about it as well so if I say that I have to say it to myself as well xD C2P3 – [mat uses gif to volunteer to be 2nd place] C2P5 - Not to mess with this nice silence we got going on but this is eerily different from last turn, is that just me? Like it's lowkey making me want to vote Wit because that's the easiest explanation for the difference between the two turns. Or vote JNV for only RPing :P. 5/ I just want to stick his reaction to serious C1P6 pressure here. I’m too deep to properly evaluate it. 6/ Assuming e!Mat-e!Wit, I’m left with 3rd teammate options of Devo or TJ. He doesn’t criticize either as much. If it’s Devo, I’m wondering if they decided as a team to distance from her when she started being suspected. That pushed Mat towards Wit, because he can’t practically lose another teammate. Conflicting quotes I pulled: C2P3 - Plus the Devo train was feeling kind of stale and I wanted to spice things up a bit C2P3 - I'd cut out Wit [off the suspect list of Devo-TJ-Wit]. … But I also support the Ash pressuring as so far the applied pressure on Devo, Raven, etc hasn't done much. [shortly after says they thought Devo was in the lead] Devo Mat
  10. I'll buy that I'm interested in this post from C1 (plain language translated). I'm specifically interested in whether e!Devo would put e!Wit in this position. They can count on my vote manip probably, and potentially vote movements from allies. It could be a play for 2nd place. But if anything, I'm more inclined to read it as protective of e!Mat, who they mention several times. Then the note it's subject to change is unusual from Devo.
  11. I got rid of Ash's vote. Based on recent trends, we shouldn't assume that the action was submitted. Incompetence happens. But I'd bet on it being blocked. Also, can we kill devo please Devo
  12. I assume everyone, like me, is watching hockey. Who do you propose gets the 2nd place crown?
  13. Thank you for the reminder to submit my vote manip :P. As much as I appreciate the opportunity to potentially end up in 2nd place, I'd rather not die. And I'm out of role claims to make. (I'd still like to support the Aeoryi for 2nd place campaign, if anyone's in a position to later). I like the concept of an Ash vote but I don't like the source. So Ash Devo that's so raven
  14. Sorry, there was an assumption on my part that everyone would read your posts as suspicious and I was reacting to that. The point is you didn't distance from Devo, which I was initially reading as an obvious e-e connection, but then that felt too easy so I rejected it. * Phil had done so much training since viewers last saw him. He’d done a thousand push ups and listening to at least one lecture on Finding Your Inner Spren. Finally, he was ready to swear an Ideal. “Storms!” The swearing hadn’t worked. Maybe he wasn’t cut out for this. Or maybe you’re supposed to swear an oath, you oaf. “Oh yeah. I swear to stick stuff together, follow my heart, and sell stuff through sensationalist infomercials once the technology exists.” These words are rejected. “You’re very judgemental, subconscious. What more can I do?” Try being more dramatic. Add a little danger. “Here I go, waving my sword. Stabby, stab, stab. Oh no, I’m so weak. I might fall in battle. If only I had magic powers to save me and my squadron!” Perhaps we’ll try again some other time. Do some more push ups, those were funny. Phil fell into a plank position and began pumping his arms. They hurt, but not as much as not knowing the best way to adhere two things together did. Eventually, he collapsed in exhaustion, falling asleep. You are weak, his dreams told him. You are not yet ready to progress. Also, don’t you have traitors to catch right now?
  15. Here's my problem with this TJ post. It works really nicely to have e!Devo and e!TJ coming along to support them. Throw in e!Wit who structured that last post so they can hop into the Archer train or ride the Ashbringer train with e!Stink. 1. That's too many elims. 2. Would e!TJ defend e!Devo? TJ's hands are clean, so they're putting a lot on the line to come out in support of Devo in the back half of a round where they're a major suspect. I feel like Devo's directive would be to distance in this case. * Phil took a deep breath. “Rocks! I command you to Adhere!” The rocks did nothing. Or maybe they did, but he hadn’t noticed. He poked one to check if it was stuck to the ground. It kind of was, given how hard it was to move. “Or perhaps that’s just how gravity works. And the feeble limbs of a man who spent four months in a cave.” He tried again, pushing all of his energy into one big shout. “GLUE!” The rocks did nothing. It had worked yesterday, why were his powers so unpredictable? Maybe he needed one of those tamagotchis everyone else had. Where did everyone acquire their spren? He looked out towards the Horneater Peaks. In the far distance, someone was practicing their swordsmanship. He didn’t look very talented. Not that you can do any better, his subconscious reminded him. “Shud up,” he told it. “I’m looking for spren. And the World’s Most Powerful Glue, per my backstory.” Sorry. “I need to find some Fused. I’ll grind their bones to make my paste.” This sounds totally normal. Can we kill another solider in the meantime? “Who do I have in mind? Perhaps TBD, since they’re the only name I can think of right now.” Excellent. They’ll never see it coming.
  16. I think some of y'all might be confused about where the valuable information is. When you summarize a book, you don't recap every page. You look for where the action is and focus on that. Try reading the cycle backwards, Raven, it's probably more useful. Either that or you'll need to apply your judgement to decide what info matters - it can't all be relevant. I support me being the 2nd place guy, fulling knowing this is a set up to make it impossible for me to use my vote manip to get another Ideal. Lowkey okay accumulating enough power to be NK worthy, it makes reading the votes easier.
  17. I just double checked and no, there's no extra space. Sure looks like there is though. I'm tempted to add one to the front of my name to make it more balanced. :D.
  18. Quoting these posts feels like poking a bomb. I'll just respond with no context. Mat: my stance went we should think about 2nd place > EOD vote movements matter more > C1 exe never hits an elim so if I manip it into failing, everyone wins > but closure is good > but magic is good for ME > people will think I'm being sneaky and saving myself > if I tell them it's okay #impliedconsent > which VC is accurate??? Kas: I'd worry about NKing you because you always attract protection in these games. So I'd probably have killed Mat. Or honestly, Aeoryi burned their new player protection by being very vocal. I had a PM with Araris, so I'd probably avoid burning that resource unnecessarily. Ash Devo
  19. I too would have liked to know Aman's role, but I accept your shifting of blame for it to the dead guy, Kas. :P. I'd also like to comment on JNV making a verrrrry long post but coming up with no actionable conclusions. Looks like e!over-compensating. Narrative recap of my thinking this round: 1/ Wrote RP. Needed a name to throw in as a suspect, chose Ashbringer because his character has a cool one. 2/ Ash’s initial reaction was ‘he probably voted me because I was lurking without posting’ + answering someone asking what he’d done with ‘nothing much’. Then, importantly, he was very engaged. I felt like he thought I thought he was a lurker and was trying to beat the accusation by being very present. (Plus I think the GM must have given the elim team RPers and Ashbringer is a serial one.) I had more trusts than suspects during the round, so the Ash vote stuck. Didn’t really want to look at Raven or Wit over their posts because they seemed conservative, but I thought it was just because they earnestly answered softball questions and were hesitant to engage. I didn’t see enough to exe what I think are newish players C1. Really my kill list was Stink, Devo, Ash (kinda). 3/ Jump forward to when I roleclaim. I think I intuitively felt that most of the voting had been villagers so far: Aoeryi, Mat, Kas, Araris etc. I hadn’t felt like there was really bad votes/wagons to react to, so I was playing defense. Furthermore, I didn’t like the idea of basically tanking the exe with my vote manip ability and having to explain why I’d done it undeclared while also not being able to demonstrate it was me, not an e!teammate that had done it. 4/ Last game, v!Mat and I found each other fairly quickly then aggressively fumbled the bag and allowed each other to be exed. I wanted to avoid a repeat of that, so I wasn’t voting for Mat and was in fact looking for ways to save him – hence the Aman push. 5/ I’d mentally decided on exing Experience if I hated all the other active options because at worst we get rid of an inactive villager. When they were pinch hit for, I mentally banked on the elim getting replaced first because their absence matters the most to the game. Bad assumption, obviously, don’t metagame, kids. Anyway, I also viewed Aman as less committed to playing this game because they’d signed up as a pinch hitter, so I hoped they’d feel the least bad over being promptly murdered. (Sorry, Aman.) I loathe deciding who dies C1, usually I leave the main wagon up to other people so its an inevitability I just help along. In this case the desire to save Mat kicked in though; I certainly preferred my read of them to my read of Aman. 6/ My Aman read was probably reactionary too. It was the first bold, bad vote I’d seen, so I seized it as a chance to vote something I felt right about. Right because they were wrong, so clearly they were trying to mix me. 7/ Regarding Aman’s request to vote manip, I was planning to use my manip to supress his vote so I rejected it out of hand. I didn’t even think about the NK being a free action. 8/ After some IRL activities, I checked in with 15 minutes to go. Spent ten minutes trying to follow the VCs so I could see if I could manip the votes into saving someone. With 5 to go I looked at my post I’d started writing and posted it much too late to do anything. Then manipped Devo since I wasn’t sure the votes were close so I resolved to make sure Aman died to get closure. * Phil had had a long day shouting at people. After living alone for so long, he was still trying to figure out how to speak at an appropriate volume. It didn’t help that they were outside now and everyone was using outdoor voices. Eventually, he had gone to bed. And been rudely awakened by a thump. Phil examined the rock that lay by his bedroll. He half expected it to lay in a pile of shattered glass, but his tent didn’t have a window, so it wasn’t a case of someone trying to threaten him. Probably. He flipped it over. There was writing! Perhaps it was a threat. By some alliteration loving villain with really sloppy handwriting. As threats go, it seemed impersonal. As if the message had been mass produced. “If you’re going to threaten me, at least make me feel special.” Phil reignited his fire and held the stone against the flames to check for invisible ink. He also tried pouring water on it, licking it, and sticking it in a stew with three onions, two carrots, and some spices. “Delicious.” Alas, after digesting the idea for a few minutes, he was unable to discern any special meaning. Perhaps he should speak to the others in his squadron to confirm they had also received mysterious messages. Edit: ignore this very benign spoiler tag
  20. Darn. I'll stay by solving the secret message in the Stoneward message. If you connect the bolded letters or spells vvvvvvvvv. Mysterious. I got rid of Devo's vote. Hmu if you want me to target you this round to hit an ideal trigger. There's two roles that want to be targeted iirc We really should have worked the 2nd place thing out better but I think those EOD votes should be telling of something. I'll reiterate my support for 2nding Aeoryi, they look village from the EOD changes of mind. Now I can actually go to bed Ashbringer
  21. I'd prefer to elevate Aeoryi but I'm not going to mess with this rn. Still okay voting Aman. Less confident, but more confident in them than anyone else. The new players just seem new
  22. 1. Hot 2. Didn't you use RPing as a reason to suspect me? Projection 3. No other suspects, so the transition off is abrupt 4. I see your white text >:).
  23. wanna vote off Aman together, Mat? Case: -e!Exp felt compelled to stay because theyre evil -Aman came in hot and with no other suspects but got talked out of it pretty quickly Aman Devo
