He's a short-sighted, emotional, self-conscious idiot desperate for his family's approval. But so is every teenager I know. I think he tries to be a hero. He's just really, really bad at it. Sure, he's made mistakes. A lot. And gotten people killed. But he's never killed anyone himself, only allowed it to happen through his incompetence. He tries to help others, but sometimes his self-preservation instincts distract him. Also, if it's any excuse, he had a lousy childhood, is ravaged by the Dark Talent and his life got flipped turned upside down by the Librarians.

*Curtain rises, dramatic piano intro, spotlight falls on* Kelsier, Ham and Breeze skipping down the street singing 'We Go Together' (Like rama lama lama ka dinga da dinga dong). Some finger snapping and a West Side Story-esque fight scene later and the Lord Ruler is dead, which transitions into a heartfelt rendition of 'Ding-Dong the Witch is Dead' for the finale. Or if you wanted to be more true to the book, combine the 'Work Song' (Les Miz) with Kelsier singing a poignant 'Who Lives, Who Dies, Who Tells Your Story' (Hamilton).

INTJ for me. I get a kick out of the fact that the first three 'famous people like you' shows up as Stalin, Hitler and Professor Moriarty.

Kelsier. Burning duralumin and pewter, he'd have a fire in seconds. Who's more likely to binge-watch Game of Thrones, Scribbler or Sazed?

Okay, you're probably right though. Sometimes the simplest answer is the most likely.

There's a least a dozen possible alternatives. She marries Kaz and they live in the Smedry palace together, she turns out to be a clone of his mother, Librarians lock them in the same prison for the rest of their lives and Bastille marries Alcatraz's child by travelling to the future, Alcatraz switches brains with Bastille's real husband, Alcatraz travels to an alternate reality, Alcatraz marries someone else named Bastille... Never underestimate Sanderson's ability to provide unexpected endings.

According to this message from Sanderson, she'll write the sixth and final book on her own, so we can finally see Alcatraz as the hero he truly is. Or, you know, as the selfish jerk who gets his friends killed that he portrays himself as.

Word of advice, don't take cookies from any sentient computers involved in Hemalurgy. That stuff's bad news. (Those Dark Alley fiends probably use raisins instead of chocolate chips).

What do you call an Evil Librarian with no eyes?

It was Shasta. She was reading a book, then tosses it aside to go with Alcatraz. Alcatraz comments it was 'a callous act for a librarian. But then again it was merely a fantasy novel, so nothing that important.' Then if you look at the illustration on the page opposite, the title of the book is something like 'NISTBON by SAND----'. Just one more reason to buy the the illustrated version to go with your audiobook.

Mine would be stating the obvious. I'd say things like 'Brandon Sanderson is awesome' and then everyone around would be stupefied by my eclectic wisdom.
