Trails of Cold Steel (and the Kiseki series in general)

I swear, Step Ahead is the best boss theme since Fateful Confrontation. -

I think there's actually a whole genre about that. Litrpg or something. Disregarding the ancient debate about Zelda being an rpg or not, it sounds interesting. Might check it out. -
What are you playing right now?
Eluvianii replied to Link Von Kelsier Harvey's topic in Entertainment Discussion
Trying out the first Fatal Frame. This game is hard when compared to the ones on wii. Ghosts do a lot of damage, they're a whole lot harder to dodge, and you don't have the fallback of having a weak but infinite source of film if things get ugly. The newer ones are still scary but they're designed from the start to turn you into an unstoppable ghost killing machine. This one makes you afraid of even getting into fights because you never know when you'll mess up and use one to many pictures or healing items. -
Rise from the ashes so I can vent. I was practicing a song after months of procrastination. First lap goes alright, full of mistakes but I slowly get used to this again. Second lap though, I get through the intro when suddenly I forget what goes next. Each subsequent try I get less notes right before my fingers literally don't know what to do. I figured people here know what this is like. It's so storming frustrating.

And I was just starting to feel original about that idea. -

That would make more sense, yeah. Harder to pull off with the calendar system now. That makes me even more eager to keep playing. I hope the playing obsessively phase passes soon. School just started and before long I'll probably have my plate full with other stuff. But come on, it seems chapter 2 will be a boatload of nostalgia. I need to see this. So I guess the npc dialogue grows exponentially in this game. Can't say I didn't see it coming. The first free day took me like 7 hours to complete despite being relatively tame when it came to the actual tasks. And the first field exercise did have two batches of dialogue for each town per day. I think I can feel the size of the script pressing against my face now. It's like a freshly baked Sanderson book. -
I googled to see if The Old Curiosity Shop was public domain and the first result was a "Yes" with a 500mb pdf attached. Holy crust, that's big. Are they giving high quality scans of the first edition or something?

Hate to double-post, but I need to drop some things. Oh my storming Eidos. So much to say about chapter 1 of CS3, because I'm assuming I'm at the end. I don't know, this thing just crashed and I'll have to repeat three boss battles after writing this. -

I'm actually seeing the first Sky game at 3.55 so that's kind of impressive. -
Just finished. It was really good. I probably don't like it as much as The Emperor's Soul but it was mind blowing in more ways than one.

And thank the Goddess for that. I honestly was worried after Zero that they would throw her story to the backburner after her resolution there. I'm so glad to be wrong. -

Holy crem, that model. It's surreal, we've practically had a design per year of her life since she was 11. I'm assuming this is what seeing your child grow up feels like. -
Have any rules been made that actually pertain to surviving in a fantasy world? Most, if not all of these would fit if the name was 'How to survive if you're a fictional character' (not that I'm complaining, or that I'm not guilty of it). Guess it's impossible since anything can be a fantasy world, but let's try. 448. Never mock a dwarf about his alcohol consumption. 449. If you need staff, hire rebellious elves whenever you can. Rebelling against their family will have them in need of money, and their long lifespans mean that you won't need to hire a replacement for a while, provided they're good at their job.

I usually am, considering how easy it is these days. TPBM likes laying down in the rain.

I was impatient and made a bet. Risky bet. Stupid bet. I decided to try out the pc version of CS3 because regional pricing is a blessing and the local prices for a Switch game are definitely not. I knew it was a bad idea because I don't meet the requirements but it runs, for some reason. It also crashes relatively often but I can live with that. The deal breaker would be 20-minute loading screens but so far the long ones are like a minute long so, yay. If this proves comfortable enough in the long run, I might even get CS4 during the next Steam sale. -

Grave indeed. A step down from TP where you could play catch with them. At least you can feed them. Now that I think about it, I wonder if you can feed every animal. I only know about dogs and horses so far. -

Yeah, I agree with the cooking. The game kind of encourages you to try out different things. And it is fun, sometimes you ask yourself what happens if you mix A with B and a lot of the time a good recipe comes out. Instinct works really well too, if you think certain ingredients would taste well together in real life, most of the time they will actually work in the game. Some really good recipes out there. Except throwing a single truffle into the pan will always be better. About the difficulty, I feel it's tied to enemy variety, which would be the problem for me. Four enemy categories (bokoblins, guardians, humans, and wild life) may sound pretty good but then there are like less than 5 variants in each category, after that the only difference is color. Want difficulty? Fight a Lynel. Not difficult enough? Try the next tier of Lynel. Still not enough? Try master quest, it adds another tier of Lynel. -

All right, so that's a wrap. All things CS2 ahead. Edit: Dived right into the demo so as a small note, my first impression is that the Switch version doesn't know what anti-aliasing is. -
I hadn't thought about that but there might actually be a few. I love it when characters have a gathering spot kind of thing. They might be risking their lives every day but they always make time to come back there and chill. Kind of like the Cafe in Tokyo Ghoul or I guess even Shiro's house in Fate. I also love when a game lets you do mundane things. It's stupid but if a game lets me sit on a bench or play with a dog it already has a few points with me. It does wonders for the immersion, as silly as it sounds. Heck, I just climbed a mountain and want to admire the scenery, let me make my character sit down and do the same instead of just having them stand around, waiting for me to do something and looping an idle animation with completely out of place dialogue. This one might sound strange, but in games I like actual conversations between characters. Sounds obvious but so many of them seem to keep the characters from talking unless related to the plot. These characters are spending weeks or months of their life on their quest, they're not going to be thinking about the dark lord 24/7. Let me hear about how they messed their coffee this morning or how how a shop doesn't have the armor color they wanted.

I'm the annoying kid who says he likes to draw but only ever copies. I want to learn though. TPBM has a skill they want to train.
