The character? At times yeah. It's understandable most of the time but that doesn't make it any easier to read. TPBM can't dislike characters.

I won't be able to watch all three episodes in a row, I thought. That was a silly thought. The show is a bit darker than I expected, in more than one way. Tone wise because this may just be the tint I read the books with, but I kind of remember more happy moments. And picture wise because the thing does look really dark. A bit more color during daytime would be nice. I'm happy to see Moiraine is not taking the role of the protagonist. I was worried about that, considering how the show was advertised over the past couple years, but the spotlight is always on the Emond Fielders. Channeling at times does look like weaving threads, so that's really nice. The changes don't bother me nearly as much as I thought they would. My biggest complaint on that department would be The omissions are where it suffers the most I think. Cgi is weird, sometimes it looks amazing and sometimes it looks cheap. But overall it works. The characters are good, I'm really happy by how subtly they're handling Mat. It's a good start, I'm excited to see how things go over the next month.

I think it comes down to the quality of the original picture. It's not that it becomes blurry when you crop it, it's that it wasn't meant to be seen that up close. If you take the original and then zoom in, it'll likely look like the one on your profile. Your best bet is probably to look for a high definition version of the picture, zoom in on it to see if it maintains quality, then use that one. Though the Shard doesn't accept pictures over like half a megabyte so it's a bit tricky to find a balance.

Did a bit of a rewatch on Pirates of the Caribbean. The original trilogy remains among my favorite movies and I really wish an expanded universe had come out of it. The amount of characters and mythology introduced in the third one left me wishing for more. Books, games, and stuff. But they were discarded just like that sadly. On Strange Tides is fun. It ignores the previous ones but that means it doesn't mess with them either. It's not too memorable but it's good popcorn material and I like to rewatch it from time to time. Dead Men Tell No Tales is also a fun watch... It would be a lot more enjoyable if it didn't put so much effort into rewriting the first three. Will and Elizabeth had the most amazing ending one could have wished for so that this movie can deny it happened and instead pretends they failed. All so that the kid can have an adventure. There are better ways to involve the kid with pirates without retconning stuff. And then there's the post-credits scene. That... happened I guess. I'm sure they'll come up with something (if they don't decide to just not use it) but right off the bat it would not only retcon even more stuff from the first three, but it also contradicts the movie it belongs to. I don't know, it just feels lazy. I'm just hoping for a reboot at this point. The series has potential and clearly Verbinsky knew it. The ones after are just using the name and Depp without the care involved.

I just discovered that my potato laptop must be a dark wizard or something, because it somehow runs Yakuza 0 butter smooth. The rest of the series seems to have the same requirements to some extent. So I guess I will now play that.

I have a love-hate relationship with those. I'm a night owl and often look for an excuse to stay up all night, be it for homework or simple hobbies. But I also love sleeping and that becomes a problem when you have class at 7. TPBM likes coffee in all its forms.
