  1. The extension of Venli's sins are far beyond everything I expected I expected ambition and lust for power yes, but I was expecting she was pushed by the war and fear of humans Her chapter on Gavilar Assassination Plot was probably my favorite flashback chapter in the series so far. I felt like reading a russian doll, each layer and point of view uncover another truth that lead to other secrets. Can't wait for book 5 when we will finish uncovering this event
  2. Group 1 was Venli, Kaladin and Navani as the main POVs Rlain was the minor POV And Dabbid was some kind of tertiary POV Lift, as far as I read, was an interlude character and they don't count on characters grouping, same goes for Szeth excluded from group 3
  3. He's so annoying. By far my least favorite character in this book
  4. The Sibling is so much more funny than other Godspren with his delightful pessimism and cute despise of humanity I'm really enjoying its dynamics with Navani so far
  5. Have just started it. But I'm really excited to read a Renarin POV, I've been waiting for half a decade now for a chapter of him
  6. Finished it just now The Epigraph just revealed brand new shards WTF, never expected that Also loving the Spren pictures, thanks Shallan for your efforts Really enjoyed part 2, both groups had a very pleasant storyline. Shadesmar journey was so much more enjoying than in Oathbriger And Pattern lying to Shallan, who would saw it coming ? Can't wait until part 4 when the truths about her past are finally uncovered This book so far was very dynamic and fast paced the invasion plot in part 2 was great! I'm upset Kaladin haven't tried to hide himself among common humans, but guess it's just against his nature Navani interactions with Sibling was awesome. I'm not sure if they will bond just yet. I have to say that so far Sibling is the only Godspren I've liked, he/she have some kind of naive way of talking that is refreshing, naive but not silly I'm really looking forward more Venli POVs. It doesn't quite look like her book so far, she have probably the least amount of chapters and we still not getting her flashbacks yet. Hope it changes in part 3
  7. Yes. You can easily change that Just click on Account & Lists in the top right of the screen, just on the right of search bar It will reveal a modal, click on "Your Content and Devices", it will lead you to another page In that page, click on Preferences in the menu bar and then look for "Country/Region settings". Choose any australian address you please and confirm This must automatically redirect you to an australian domain In the australian store just buy the book normally, just keep in mind you need an international credit card to complete your purchase You maybe need to restart your kindle, mine only detected my book once I restarted it
  8. I couldn't wait so I've changed my Amazon account to an Australian one. I'm reading the book now about 9 hours before the release, guess I won't do anything other than read after I finish working The first thing I've done was to look at the POV character of each part, I do this every book since Words of Radiance l. Then I started Syl interlude
  9. Where in the cosmere is Thaidakar from & have we seen him in any books before? R- Roshar I guess. Pretty sure we saw him already in Stormlight, we just don't know yet lol Using an unsealed metalmind keyed to Connection, would it be possible for heavily-Invested individuals native to Roshar to worldhop? (excluding Willshapers and Elsecallers)- asking this because of what Mraize said to Shallan in Chapter 13: R- I actually think not even Willshapers nor Elsecallers can use transportation to worldhop, atleast according to Mraize words. Their surgebinding is too tied to Rosharan system to work outside it, which is a shame. About the metalminds, remember only people from Scadrial have acess to Feruchemy, so unless we use some kind of Hemalurgic spike I can't see any native surgebinder of Roshar worldhopping What power does Mraize's Aviar have? R- No clue Are the holes in Shallan's memory entirely self-inflicted or do they have something to do with the Ghostbloods? R- I'm going for self-inflicted, or at least unrelated to Ghostbloods, they only know about her and are using this knowledge to manipulate her What "brand" is missing from the Fused? (since there's only 9 varieties and the Radiants have 10) R- Some Bondsmith surge, I'll bet on Adhesion Why is Alethkar called the "Land of the Second Advance" in the Fuseds' language? R- Some reference of from the first Desolation I guess Is Nale the only Radiant that has sworn the Fourth Ideal? R- He sworn the fifth actually What specifically enables Worldhoppers to worldhop? R- I'm guess they have a diverse set of magic that make them able to worldhop. Most of them use shardpools as a way to enter in cognitive helm. As cognitive helm is closely tied to sapient life, hence galatic spaces without intelligent life are shortened enough to make the travel possible How do the drums that the ardents use in agriculture direct Stormlight? R- Something related with the rosharan rhythms singers can listen Why is the Stormfather prejudiced against the listeners? R- Is he? Against the listeners specifically? Not singers in general? Is Zahel's shell fossil from Yolen? If so, how did he get it? R- Nope, it's from Roshar. Roshar predate the shattering, it was designed by Adolnasium Can Nightblood be used to permanently kill the Fused? Is Nightblood in any way connected to Moash's knife that he used to kill Jezrien? R- Yes, it can, Nightblood is able to interrupt the connection that makes the singers coming back to Roshar. As Zahal explained, both Returned and Singers are dead bodies tied to souls, Nightblood can someway "cut" trough this. Not sure about Moash's knife though ARE JASNAH AND HOID ACTUALLY TOGETHER? I see them more as an intellectual partnership/having mutual respect for one another. Plus, I think having Hoid be a romantic interest would probably make him too much of a "major player" in the series, when his whole schtick is operating behind-the-scenes R- I hope so, really like the idea of this couple How does the tower (and to an extent, the Sibling) specifically interact with the Investiture in the highstorm? R- I don't understand the question
  10. I agree, but not because I find Dawnshards uninteresting, it's just like it's a plot the isn't likely to be well developed until back 5, so I can't get hyped for anything that will take over 10 years to be uncovered
  11. I think a third is more likely. I can see her secretly swearing the second ideal while still on singer side, as the intent of freedom is what already is moving her to refund Willshapers among the group of singers she lead. Before the third ideal she can't get any official squires either, at least not squires who can manifest surgebinding Sanderson confirmed she has some viewpoints. In Oathbringer she had 2 chapters in part 2 and some viewpoints in part 5 of Sanderlanche, I think she will at least get 5 this time, and some good information about her radiant path, I hope she's on the 4th oath already. On my mind she has swear 2nd ideal long before The Way of Kings and was stuck on it until she get into shadesmar on Words of Radiance, there she discovered or did something that made her progress to her 3rd ideal and finally be back to physical realm (she's confirmed on 3rd ideal as she had a shardblade that I think she'd never beared before). On her WoR chapter (and I think it's cannon) she never used Transportation before, which further intensify my guess she was still on her 2nd ideal. Renarin scene really looked like a 4th ideal scene, although I can be wrong
  12. Yup, I know and I agree with you. I just wanted to point their arc will be finished in part 5, not in part 4
  13. https://www.tor.com/2020/11/12/brandon-sandersons-rhythm-of-war-a-non-spoiler-review/ So unless Adolin and Shallan are in the third arc (which I doubt), that's confirmed their final scene is somewhere in Part 5
  14. Shallan/Adolin were confirmed as then POV characters of group 2 and will be present in parts 2 and 4, having only a final chapter in part 5 to close their arc on this book Dalinar and Jasnah are the POV characters of group 3, with Jasnah having only a few viewpoints but more than what she had on Book 3. Their arc start on part 3 and finish in part 5 as well
  15. There is a confirmed conclusion POV for Shallan-Adolin arc at part 5 according to a non-spoiler review from Tor
  16. I'm under impression Truthwatcher spren are just picky choosing their Radiants. So far all them seem to cater people who look forward others. They also looks more lonely Wolf type, not getting many squires and not attracting many other of their kind, so they are far more split in the world compared to Windrunners and Edgedancers Be it doesn't imply their kind are against forming nahel bond, not as strong as Inkspren at least Agreed about Stonewards though, but we know close to nothing about them Edit: we also don't know the population of each True Spren, there are hints Radiants orders were never even in numbers of members, although Dalinar visions gave us hints of an Stoneward army
  17. Rysn was always one of my favorite interlude characters, and Aimia (western Roshar in general like Iri and Shinovar) are the places I want to know the most on Roshar, so when heard about an expedition to Aimia lead by Rysn was announced I don't need to say there I wasn't anything but hyped As usual, Sanderson promised and delivered an awesome short story It doesn't sound like a minor unimportant secondary plot, rather a very significant one that was just too much a side story to get into the main book Sanderson is really sensitive to human diversity even in physical condition, his portrait of disabled people remains unpaired as far as fantasy literature goes. Glad he didn't give Rysn her leg movements back in a cheap way, she's much more interesting as a person destined to greatest besides her disability, rather than a person who need to overcome a disability in order to be important Thr cast is just perfect. Sleepless remains fantastic, same goes to Larkins and Cord really grewn on me. Lopen stands as one of my favorite bridge four members, and Rua is just adorable and matches his nature perfectly. The only bad thing I can think about it's how short it was and fast I read it. It could be a bit lengthier, I wouldn't bother
  18. Btw, is there any thread to talk about Dawnshard? I was planning to read it in the course of the week so I could distract myself from the anxiety of waiting for ROW... but ended reading it all in one night...
  19. After reading Dawnshard, I thought on a Nikli interlude
  20. Currently at chapter 7 of Dawnshard and storming loving it. Clear shot to surpassing Emperor's Soul as my favorite Sanderson novella
  21. This is my last week commenting here for several days. English is not my native language and I'm not a fast reader. I don't think I can finish the whole novel in less than 3 weeks I'm really loving part 1 so far, and the plot looks fantastic so far. All things are align for this to become my favorite book, or at least my favorite along with Words of Radiance
  22. I will listen to it, even though I prefer reading Edit: It's gone lol
  23. I was Avoiding every other review, but I'll watch yours. Please don't spoiler me that much D:
  24. Ok so people are getting the book weeks before the release I'm now considering the possibility of becoming an Youtuber dedicated to books. I will work hard for the next 3 years to become sufessful and get many subscribers. After that I will finally get a copy of SA5 for myself 20 days before anyone else and shut down my channel right after that
  25. Laral is a Citylady of Sadeas Princedom, as we don't know the exactly state of house Sadeas after Ialai's death it makes sense for me to Jasnah take care of this minor succession issue. I think you are overthinking this
