  1. Well pretty much anything other than allomancy and feruchemy is useless in our universe since we don't have people with Breath, no stormlight, no elantris so I assume it's in the cosmere
  2. I think we discussed fire a while back and decided there just wasn't any practical way to weaponise it against a windrunner. Szeth has already shown us exactly how effective any kind of projectile is against him, surprised or not (0) Obviously if you ambushed him while he was sleeping or something this might work but Szeth is always going to be aware of all his enemies in a combat situation since he wears no armour he can't afford to forget about the spearman behind him (Or in this case the crossbowmen) his Lashings literally take the blink of an eye to perform, he uses it mid-combat all the time. The flying away thing was more about avoiding one wave of projectiles than necessarily fleeing the scene I think.
  3. But you'd need quite huge gems to make anything substantial, and it also depends how the gems break, repeated usage might be just as bad as one huge usage.
  4. Thankyou for asking 8! I considered it myself but I was sure he'd RAFO it.
  5. My bad Yeah that one works, I've always thought Soulcasting would be one of the most useful abilities we've seen the only problem is the cost of the gems needed.
  6. Soulcasting falls under Surgebinding too. Fabrials I guess could work.
  7. But that's why I referred to being able to store a memory at different strengths, the compounder could retain the information perfectly without the need of copperminds and so wouldn't need the spikes, which could be passed on to someone else. 1 set of spikes could grant the entire population complete recall.
  8. Definitely go with Amaram and KanPaar.
  9. Yeah that thing about the train has hugely messed with my perception of time-bubbles. If I get a good enough theory going on it I'll make a dedicated thread for it but atm I'm still processing it.
  10. Lerasium can definitely do something else but it's been implied that you need specific knowledge of how to use it, you can't just burn it. Only really relevant in a fight with another compounder but yes it would be, you'd still kick the Lerasium out of an ordinary mistborn though. The only real difference is the amount of time and metal needed.
  11. We don't know of any donors who have lived through being Hemalurgically stabbed so not sure, but you wouldn't need the spikes to be from the same person. The diminishing returns is gotten over because you could reuse the spikes, that's the whole point 2 spikes could theoretically give the entire population the memories, of course due to Hemalurgic decay the compounding would be less and less useful but I suppose the very first recipient could just create a number of copperminds and others would only need access to these through the spike.
  12. He could just periodically power someone's Hemalurgy to offset it, or actually power allomancy too since both Shards can power both.
  13. Huzah for Necroing interesting topics! Yeah surrounding Szeth outdoors isn't going to work, actually this tactic would work better indoors but in either case a reverse Lashing takes care of projectiles or a Basic for dodging. I honestly don't think being outdoors would hamper Szeth much, his mobility is greater than even that of a mistborn and he has a Shardblade which we know works best when given lots of space. Also, Szeth is a total ninja.
  14. Doesn't burning Atium almost certainly not send it back to Ruin? (Elend and his Seers kind of screwed up if that's the case) I think it just re accumulates at the pits.
  15. I have one capitalised word for you. Fortune.
  16. Hemalurgy FTW! I just Allomantically compounded your Awakened Shardblade. Checkmate.
  17. Damage from asphyxiation would be relatively easy to fix if it can be fixed by gold, once you start breathing after not being able to the damage is gone pretty quickly, I don't see it as taking up much compared to say reassembling yourself from an explosion. Compare it to TLR compounding, he was staying hundreds of times younger than he was constantly and he wasn't shovelling down mouthfuls of Atium all the time, I think the amount of Health needed would be far less than this.
  18. We've been told in interviews that Marsh had a limited amount and that without help he would eventually run out, this could be changed since it's not canon yet but from what we know it isn't going to Marsh, I don't think that would be enough either to restore the balance, I was thinking more the other type of Mists which now exist.
  19. Good point, it could just be for study purposes, it would be interesting to see the differences caused by Shardic creation vs. non-Shardic.
  20. I'm fairly convinced that the original Shardholders used to be human at least, now they would be slivers I suppose but I don't know that that would let you spike them once they're dead.
  21. We did have confirmation that Hemalurgy could be used on animals before, not sure if that means both as a recipient and donator or just a recipient, but going from the Blessings I'd say its both. I think that stapling pieces of a human soul onto animals should make them more intelligent so its good to have WoB on that too. That Q and A was a gold-mine of cosmere information, so excited to begin the baseless speculation!
  22. Robin Hobb has some good stuff, and yeah mostly what people have already said, Jordan, Sanderson, Weeks, Tolkein, Brooks, Eddings, Feist and of course Rothfuss. Oh and one Australian author, Tony Shillitoe, I cannot find his books anywhere but I read them years ago and I absolutely loved them, he had an almost cosmere-ish thing going with a few series which were all connected behind-the-scenes. But yeah I'm not sure that you'd be able to get any copies.
  23. I saw that too, I was wondering if he was just being sneaky and referring to Lerasium and its alloys which anyone can burn. Perhaps Sazedium would be the same, not sure. On Ati and Leras I would assume that as they're dead their spiritweb is somewhat redundant, you can't spike an ability out of a dead person (So far as we know) Oh! I almost forgot, you are immune to the heat you produce while tapping Brass, but not immune to other sources of heat apparently, however storing heat was implied to be a good defence against a fire.
  24. Not all RAFO's are literal, he might have just meant it would give away too much now and that later on we could probably tell whether or not it would even though it might not actually be attempted, also I think it would depend on how many Breaths the material had so it's tricky to answer anyway.
  25. I would like to announce that I received my first RAFO! Anyone else?
