I think we have confirmation that they could but it might be from the MAG so might not be complete canon. I'll check for a source.
-
I doubt that you'd be able to steal a hemalurgically endowed power with another spike, the spiritweb that grants the ability is attached to the spike.
-
Biochroma is similar in that it grants passive effects as well as having a seemingly infinite variety of applications, so I don't think either of those are necessarily due to splintering. This could be a bit of tricky wording as well because it might just be that Elantris hadn't been built back when Aona and Skai Splintered and so the magic was weaker.

Oh I finally found this: In the DB. Not sure if that's still the plan though.

I'm sure that in an interview Brandon said that when the Kandra all removed their blessings during the Final Ascension that they lost some memories from it so I'd guess that that was the sentience decay aspect of it.
-
Didn't Brandon say that he was completely rewritting Dragonsteel in the Q&A?

I think someone brought this up a while ago, the problem is that you'd need to have such a thick jacket for it to be practical that it would just be easier to use pure aluminium, if you only had a thin coating then it would deform and erode potentially exposing the underlying metals and as soon as they're even partially exposed then it's worthless, the bullets in particular I suspect would need a quite thick jacket for them not to suffer enough damage that they could be pushed.

Well my first reaction was 'well normal insanity would be primarily in the physical and cognitive realms while taint insanity would be in the spiritual' and then I realised I was mixing universes again. Other than that I'd have to go with Nynaeve is just removing a TP weave from their minds, their minds in themselves aren't insane. As for Nynaeve using the TP the Ashaman didn't scream or seem to experience pain like Lews Therin did when he was TP healed and it was strongly implied that all TP healing would cause similar pain.

Hemalurgy, Forging and Bloodsealing
Voidus replied to TheOneKEA's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
I think you'd be able to get non-genetic abilities through forging, you could forge yourself to have been given Breaths for instance or that you'd been spiked or nahel bonded with a spren, but with something like allomancy I think it unlikely. I wonder if you could forge an object into thinking it had been Awakened. -
I think that's mostly just because most other important numbers are based on 16 or 10 which seem cosmere-significant (4x4=16 so the 4 is not really significant and the quadrants of the metals were devised by people, they're not perfect) the 30 magics of Roshar are also 10 if you look at them a certain way. So I'd say that since we only have three cosmere signifficant numbers right now (16, 10 and 3) that we either would have all odd, all even or a 2-1 ratio so I don't think that it's particularly significant.

Theory: All mistings can also burn the God Metal alloys of their metal.
Voidus replied to Haradion Drogon's topic in Mistborn
My problem is that even if Seers can burn Atium-alloys doesn't necessarily mean other mistings can, anyone can burn Lerasium or any of its alloys, you don't need to be a misting of the alloy type to do so, since Atium does have specific limits on its usage (Mistborn and Seers) if we extend the same principle then they are capable of burning all Atium alloys but other mistings might not be capable of burning any. -
I dabble in speed reading but I'm no where near 4000 wpm that's some kind of superhuman talent you have there Yamato. I do well in memorisation though, I reached the Feynman point of pi back in high school, I'm in the mid 2000's now however this ability also extends to a wide range of useless facts which I bring up at every opportunity although I have no idea where I learned half of them.
-
But they would have known it was allomantic and done all they could to procure more, they'd also have to suspect that it was an external enhancing metal so they might have even guessed it fairly quickly.
-
Isn't that a translation for 'thought' in Christopher Paolini's Ancient Language? As for my name it's fairly straightforward Void-Us
-
Yeah I was sure I saw it somewhere but now I can't find it anywhere. I thought it was the recent Q&A but I can't see it. So yeah maybe he didn't and the Ars is right
-
They would if they Duralumin burned it. We don't know that a coin would be able to pierce a Dhakor either, we just haven't seen enough of them to be able to asses their abilities. It also seems like it's fairly recently discovered so they might not know all of their own tricks just yet, hopefully when Elantris 2 comes out we'll see some more of them and we might know their full capabilities.

We do have WoB that Scadralian magic is comparatively weaker than the others we've seen, but no confirmation on what caused this as far as I know, and considering Endowments not splintered (As far as I know ) it seems unlikely that that's the cause. On close quarters combat I think the dhakor gain significant advantage, they don't have to worry about running out of power, if a mistborn Dura-pewtered and then didn't kill them then they're going to have it tough finding time to down some more metals before the Dhakor clobbers them. I think once we know more about the Dhakor then we'll be better equipped to answer. Considering though the Elantrians power and that the Dhakor are unlikely to be too significantly weaker than the Elantrians I think there is probably a lot we haven't seen yet, Wryn even managed to get some form of precognition going so they might even get an atium-equivalent.

What book(s) are you looking forward to most about the Cosmere?
Voidus replied to Turos's topic in Cosmere Discussion
White Sand and Silence Divine were both 'someday' in the recent Q&A so yeah, not anytime soon, probably after SA is done. -
Probably best for things like this to go in the cosmere section in future, since this will probably have spoilers for Mistborn. We don't really have enough to say for sure since we have no idea as to what powers the Dhakor possess. Given their current abilities I'd say mistborn because their range and agility gives them the edge, in close combat, the Dhakor probably.
-
Yeah that confused me too Satusoni, my only guess is he might have thought you meant do Duralumin reserves get burned at all (Not necessarily at super-rates)
-
Must read! Arghhhhhh

Because in past Desolations all the normal soldiers were killed off by the Parshmen who turned into Parshendi? It's possible that only the KR remembered each Desolation that this would happen (Although why they wouldn't share that info is a mystery) and so the rest of the worlds armies were all severely battered before the Desolations really begun.

Yeah it's something I keep going back and forth over, it seems weird to me that Ruin could have a universally applicable magic system while no other Shards do. But perhaps this is a side effect of having an end-negative system? The only other thing I can think of is only Scadralian metal can be turned into spikes but I doubt that, the only thing I could think of is if Ruin's presence somehow gives Scadralian metals an increased Spiritual aspect or something (Not even sure how that woul work/if it's possible)

Doesn't really fit with Endowment if they all possessed it anyway IMO.
