  1. But then the names would probably be the in-world names for them, so identity might still be more accurate.
  2. Yes but a mace would also kill you if you weren't wearing cuendillar, and since cuendillar doesn't deform the blow would be spread over the whole area of the plate or helm so it could still reduce the damage taken, it wont make them invincible but it would sure help a lot.
  3. Ter'angreal take longer to make, Elayne is the only one who can make them with any consistency and Mats amulet doesn't protect against the effects of the One Power just the actual weaves, a fireball would probably still kill you, and lightning definitely would. I think Cuendillar would be better, although if you could have both I guess that would be the best.
  4. That depends entirely upon the fire and how far away you are from it, since most channelers need a throwing motion and if they don't still have the fireball start relatively close to them I find it unlikely that they are heated to temperatures which would cause lethal harm from that kind of distance.
  5. Well channelers typically go for the fireball approach to killing people, you don't need a complete enclosed suit of armour for that, a shield that won't break or heat up incredibly from the impact would do. They might be slightly less useful in the event of a sudden surprise attack but you have to weigh that against the potentially thousands of soldiers they could equip with a basic shield to block. And the only real reason you need them to be at full strength is to fight against channelers, if they're making armorr to protect soldiers from channelling then they're doing the same thing, just more reliably, they don't know when they might be needed for battle but they could always be making armour.
  6. It might not completely protect from superheated air but it's a perfect insulator so it would offer a fair amount of protection, as long as it wasn't a continuous stream of fire it would be fine. As for exhausting the channelers who make them, as long as you don't keep them making them all the way through the fighting they'd be ok, the Aes Sedai already had a system for doing this, if they'd just made some shields of Cuendillar instead of a bunch of jars or whatever then then that'd be helpful.
  7. I think shields would be more useful than full suits of armor, I don't think you could completely protect from Balefire no matter what you used but for other weaves or regular old Shadowspawn it should work.
  8. Well Feruchemy got that aspect when it mixed with Allomancy IIRC, you used to either be able to store in all metals or none, not just one. As for why that's so in Allomancy, I think Brandon said that originally he wanted to only have mistings but then he wanted some characters to be more powerful so he made Mistborn, in-world I suppose that there are just certain barriers you need a certain amount of Preservation in your sDNA to jump, same reason that not all of the Nobles are just a little bit mistings, you either are or not.
  9. Another thing I always wondered was why the heck aren't there any Cuendillar swords? Or shields even? making Cuendillar seems to be a much faster and less power-intensive activity.
  10. There was a Shallan flashback reading as well I think, I'll try and find a link.
  11. Well it's obviously the Bridgemen, they go out to Honor chasm, soak up some leftover Shardic power from Honor and then turn into gigantic monsters with hearts made out of gemstones. Well obviously the Parshendi are a possibility, this could be the storm form we saw a while back in one of the SA2 readings.
  12. Still no word on the Conjoinerphone. well we can always hope.
  13. I assumed that Longshadow was just a rival Artifabrian of hers, could be something else but I doubt she'd call something designed by a Herald 'dreadful' although then again she did raise Jasnah
  14. I have a few also: Bloodmaker: Yep that's right I'm halfway towards everyone's favorite immortal evildoer Miles. Except I surpass even him because I don't need gold. Only problem is I don't know how to tap health, only store it. And I can't turn it on and off, I'm just always sick. I have a similar problem with Wakefulness, I can go into an uninteruptible coma for long periods, I just can't figure out how to tap that later. Other than that I suppose is my memory and subsequently calender calculation, give me any date and I could tell you what day that fell on. Take that Inquisitors!
  15. Well Jasnah herself said that as far as she knows all other Soulcasters use fabrials, it's unlikely that she'd believe that if she learned about it from other Surgebinders, it's also quite unlikely that she'd bother lying to Shallan at that point. And then there's that conversation she had earlier when Shallan was convinced she was trying to disprove Vorinism; she just doesn't seem like she'd bother researching the Devotaries that much to me.
  16. Brandon has said that it is highly unlikely they will write any more WoT novels and that he certainly won't invent new ones that RJ didn't plan. Some extra bits may come out with the WOT encyclopaedia but I think it improbable that any new novels will be written in the WoT universe.
  17. You bring up how the Radiants didn't respond when Dalinar tried to interact with them, the problem with that is why did all the other people react? They viewed him as a person with a consistent personality who was acting unusually, why on Roshar would Honor be able to (Or be bothered) foresee something so mundane and relatively changeable as a single group of people and their personalities (All of which were much likely to be changed than an event as huge as the Recreance) as compared to the recreance, so either Honor died in between Dalinar leaving the keep and catching up with the Radiants or else it seems likely to me that he was still alive the whole time and the Radiants just didn't particularly feel like stopping to explain themselves to some random guardsman who seemed to be spouting gibberish.
  18. Wow, well that's quite the list of puns but if we don't slow down we might have some Rioters, let's just all chull for a while and Soothe any pun related tensions in the words of Bart Simpson 'don't have a cow' guys. Mostly because I have a fear of cattle, I am seriously afraid of Dem-oux. But 17th Sharders are all awesome so I'll let it Slider.
  19. You've got to wonder who could ever use Hemalurgy on another planet though, it's pretty much got to be either Marsh or another Shard, although I suppose Hoid probably figured out enough to spike someone if he wanted to.
  20. I doubt it, unless they could store different types of health in different like with tin.
  21. That's not to say that Hazekillers are any better at confronting Mistings or Mistborn than other mistings or mistborn, just that the term hazekiller refers explicitly to non-allomancers who have been trained to fight allomancers. Since most Allomancers are trained to use their abilities on other allomancers there's not really any point in defining them as separate from ordinary mistings.
  22. Well given that the assumption is that the Highstorms blew away any dirt I'd have to say it was probably all like that for a while since the Highstorms are probably Shardic in some manner so the Shattering would have had to happen first.
  23. I don't think that enough KR's will be formed during the series to form entire orderrs again, and if the Heralds are still around then I'd think they'd be the natural leaders not Kal. Although I think there's supposed to be a timeskip after the first 5 books so maybe new orders will crop up.
  24. As far as we know Shardblades cannot be broken, they are swung into eachother repeatedly by Shardbearers immense strength so I think we probably should have heard something about that by now if it's possible.
  25. There are certainly Mistings trained to fight other mistings but Kelsier referred to Hazekillers as specifically non-allomancers trained to fight allomancers. I guess they could be feruchemists though.
